and some news: As I'm not doing Gameboy anymore, I'll soon be starting up Editions Shiflet which will mainly function as an MP3 archive of various solo releases over the years, but will also feature some unreleased material and might even release an actual physical album in time. I also plan on digitizing/ripping and presenting Gameboy's back catalog in the near future as well.
And of course there are several masters out there with labels now, so expect more soon.

New (old) tape on Gods of Tundra.
Word from Connelly:
CANNIBAL FREQUENICES cass. I found this master buried underneath the dirt in the woods next to my builiding. It was covered in mud and mostly rotted. Turns out MIKE SHIFLET recorded this, dug a hole and threw it in there 2 years ago. Now its been unearthed and its time to for the rot to soak into your stereos. Fans of Shiflet's eariler GOT tape "Drones and Spits" should be chomping at the bits for this one. Edition of 50. $7 US, $9 Can and Mex, $11 World.
Interested parties should:
paypal to: gods_of_tundra @ hotmail .com
and:
please allow 1-2 weeks for shipping.

Will probably be laying low until we are settled back in Columbus. I've found an apartment and a job, so it's just a matter of getting settled over the next few weeks. Feels nice to be back, but I obviously miss my old new old home over there. More wreckage soon. I'll keep you posted.

a quick three question interview from the polish experimental music wiki page:
Mike Shiflet - amerykanski artysta noise'owy, improwizator, prowadzi Gameboy Records dla EMD:
Nad czym obecnie pracujesz ?
Badam fale dzwiekowe na ich najbardziej podstawowym poziomie, czesto rysujac moje wlasne ksztalty fal (waveforms). Zglebiam rózne sposoby ich modulowania, miksowania i nakladania.
Jakie sa Twoje plany na najblizsza przyszlosc ?
Koncze trzyplytowy zestaw solowych utworów i miksuje nagrania dokonane z innymi. Niedlugo wracam do USA po dwuletnim pobycie w Japonii.
Czego ostatnio sluchasz ?
Nmperign, Jason Lescalleet "Love Me Two Times", Joe Colley "Psychic Stress Soundtracks", David Tudor "Live Electronic Music", Gerritt, John Wiese "The Disappearing Act EP", Keith Fullerton Whitman "Multiples", materialów proponowanych przez The Avant Garde Project [5] (http://avantgardeproject.org), radia internetowego, duzo hip-hopu.
Rather than just posting the English version, I was going to try to get use one of those online translators that never work so we could all laugh at the stupid machines. Unfortunately, Polish isn't quite as popular as French or German, so I'm not going to bother at all. Learn Polish.

GB98 Mike Shiflet : Shiso Epilogues PRE-ORDER ONLY 3xCDR Set
As I prepare to leave Japan and return to the States, every aspect of my life seems to be colliding, imploding, begging to be channeled through sharp and contrasting tones. The results of their pleas, Shiso Epilogues is presented as three discs of focused, drifting works. Each CDr houses one extended epic track, ranging from 50 to 70 minutes.
Each disc in the set is packaged in a cardstock sleeve with paper covering and the set is wrapped in dark washi paper with mounted photos. There is one insert with a photo as well. Each set of photos is different, each insert unique with descriptions of the included photos.
Audio Sample (from the third disc): http://gmby.net/audio/gb98-shiso-sample.mp3 Photos of the packaging: http://gmby.net/releases/gb98pics.html
This set is $25/ppd. and is available by pre-order only. The edition size will be determined by the number of orders received. I am taking reservations until the end of April and will begin shipping them May 1. Payment is not required with reservation, only before shipping.
Message me here or email ms@gmby.net to reserve.

Current mood: nerdy
This is true: being in a foreign country and basically having only one person to talk to on a regular basis will greatly reduce one's television viewing standards. Everyday at 3PM, the Kobe channel Sun TV runs syndicated American TV shows that are way down there at the bottom of the bottom of the barrel. And every day, for some reason, I keep watching. Here's just a sampling of some of the programs I've watched faithfully in (as best as I remember it) chronological order:
Odyssey 5 - http://imdb.com/title/tt0318236/
Strong Medicine - http://imdb.com/title/tt0252019/
Party of Five - http://imdb.com/title/tt0108894/
Miami Vice - http://imdb.com/title/tt0086759/
Dawson's Creek - http://imdb.com/title/tt0118300/
VIP - http://imdb.com/title/tt0134269/
There've been a couple others with shorter runs that were so bad I can't remember their titles. The Matlock rip-off comes to mind and I think there was another Sci-fi show besides Odyssey 5. Regardless I can't wait to get back to regular life and overwhelming my senses in various more fruitful ways.
