OK I'll try to make the rest of this as succinct as possible: The video for our next single 'Quell' is being worked on most furiously and will be finished in the next couple of weeks. Will let you know when sneak peeks are available!
Quell will be available on iTunes soon. It will come with a free B-side of a song that many people love, but is not actually available in mp3 format anywhere! (It IS on YouTube though...)
Last week we played three wonderful shows in Auckland and Napier. Thanks to all who attended. And if you haven't already, head along to the Cabana in Napier. It is an institution and a half! This week we are doing a show in
Hamilton (Friday: Altitude bar) and Tauranga (Sat: Brewers bar, the Mount)
so if you are in the area we have lots of new material and lots of fan favourites for you!
If you are into fashion, and absolutely cant wait for Quell to arrive on iTunes, you can get it on the cover of the current Remix mag. Available in all good stores. (Along with 14 other great kiwi tracks) And finally, just as an artist can find inspiration from some new tools or paint, Inverse Order has found new inspiration through new equipment. New drums, new amps and new pedals have lead to new tunes and new fresh ideas. Gear-savvy techno heads come and check out our new wares!

Happy October to you! As some of you may be aware, the Auckland City Council recently tried to pass a bill that would require non-central bars to close by 11pm. This would be a literal death sentence for places like the Kings Arms, and a huge blow to the music industry. Well Inverse Order didn't want this to happen! During our show on Friday night, Thomas decided to educate the people on the effects of this new law. Good ol' Thomas didn't falter, even during cries of 'Bono!' and 'Way to be like BONO!' he stayed his ground and delivered his message to the people in a most steadfast manner. Mere days after this rallying speech, the council decided to drop the proposed bill. We maintain that this was entirely due to Thomas and his compelling arguments. So if you are ever in a bar in the greater Auckland area after 11pm, you have Thomas to thank. Bar policy sparks debate

Kia Ora. Just 3 short notes for you this month. Short but important:
1.
We are currently in the process of sorting out locations for the
video to our next single. Yes there will be sexiness. No Neill wont be
as naked or as oiled up as last time. Unfortunate I know, but our
myspace was so inundated with requests from young girls after the video
was released that the rest of the band got jealous of the attention he
got and demanded he keep his glistening body under wraps.
2. We're heading out on tour in September. Exact dates and venues
TBC but expect us if you live in Wellington, Hamilton, Tauranga, Whakatane, Napier and
any other place that wants us, so get your slipperiest dancing shoes on.
OK now that we have that nonsense out of the way, we have a few things we'd like you to be aware of:
Do you want to be the coolest kid on the block? Well
forget the guitar. Forget turntables. All the cool kids these days
are playing the cat. "How on earth does one do that?!" you ask? See
below:
If living creatures aren't your thing, then maybe recreating old classics with old machines is further down your alley. Here are some guys using old printers and computer hardware to play Bohemian Rhapsody:

Oh and if anyone has anything they want to
add, maybe videos that top the ones above, or paparazzi style snaps of
neill at the beach fraternising with C-list celebs, feel free to send
them through to contact@inverseorder.co.nz, or reply to this blog.
Peace, James d

That we have a show on the 20th? We thought we'd let you know that you can get presale tickets here: http://www.undertheradar.co.nz/utr/show/SID/7975/N/Jester-Underground---Birthday-Bash.utr I highly suggest you do because its cheaper than getting them on the night. And in these recessive times cheap is the new extravagant... Some of the acts playing on the night: - Bang Bang Eche (Christchurch / New York) - Turning Tricks (Auckland) - Battle Circus (Auckland / New York) - Inverse Order (Auckland) - Transit of Venus (Auckland) Anyway, I have to get back to recovering from the long weekend, so peace and see you soon!
James

NZ Musician Magazine INVERSE ORDER: SixInverse Order's debut EP offers a series of well crafted and expertly recorded modern rock tracks, performed faultlessly and delivered in a polished package. The overall effect is a powerful, compelling argument the NZ-made modern rock has not lost relevance. It is heartening to hear strong compositions set alight by incendiary performances. Many modern rock contempories are brought to mind by the sound Inverse Order has chiseled out in 'Six', but none linger. There is emphasis placed on the cultivation of memorable melodies, and musical lines that put one foot outside the square while always leaving the other within, to retain context. All but one of the six songs on this EP are radio friendly in length, a ploy which allowed the band to stretch for a prog rock folly with The Pedestal. Make time for that last track because it's well worth it. Highly recommended rock for fans of music with substance. John Carroll; NZ Musician; Vol 14, No 8; Feb/Mar 2009.
