Today's Sunday, a good day to pause and look back on the past week. The big thing was the MySpace page. To start, we weren't sure because it's not been done before, AFAIK, for a single skate race. But we pride ourselves in doing whatever, old or new, that will make for a good event. It's been fun with various skaters working together to build the page, each person doing what they do the best. Actually, that's how our whole race production team works together to put on the whole event.
Also this week, we've gotten interest from Roller Derby skaters. So we've issued a special invitation to them, both to do the regular races, and for special events. Hopefully we can see a Derby demo Friday night during packet pickup.
We finished a flier to hand out at Duluth. Will let northern skaters know they can come skate where it's warm in February.
New sponsor, Albertson's, will provide water and other grocery items. Not a whole meal, but a few good snacks for after the race.
For this coming week, those of us who are skaters are focused on getting ready to do our thing at Duluth. But the Lafayette folks are working on getting sponsorship, so let us know if you have anyone we can contact.
