Hello all.

Just a quick note to say a big thank you for this year and to wish you all the best for the festive season.

The best part of 2009 for us, without doubt, was the incredible album launch at The East Brunswick Club. What a night! Your reaction that night and to the album in general has been overwhelming. We certainly had a ball and it looked like everyone there did too. We'll do it again soon!
Your support, as always, is much appreciated. We are only in this to entertain you all, so we are glad when your response to our stories,  our tales and our shenanigans is received with such heart felt passion and fervour. THANK YOU.

So all the best for the coming weeks everyone.  Keep yourselves safe and we'll see you in the new year-be it on the street, in the pubs, on stage, or just around the place in general.

From all at the Currency

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hello again all ye Lads and Lasses.

Well the time has finally arrived. After much deliberation, expectation and frustration, The Currency debut is here! We kid you not. Check your diaries, its not April 1st!

We are all very delighted to have finally been able to get all artwork and mastering done to a level that we are all happy with ( and also to find the hours in which to do it ). As we speak the cds are in manufacture and its full steam ahead.
We are very proud of what we have achieved with this album and are humbled by your response to our music and the stories and messages that you have embraced with such passion. We thank you all for your honesty.

So to celebrate, we will be launching this baby on August 22nd at The East Brunswick Club. We will be letting off a hell of a lot of steam that night, even more so than usual, and would love it if you would all join us and do the same!
As per usual we will be sending out reminders to your myspace accounts nearer to the time, but just wanted to give you a heads up.
It's going to be a fantastic night. A celebration of monumental proportions!

See you all soon.
Until then be well and take care.

The Currency.

Hi there.
Just a quick hello from us all. We hope that 2009 is going well for everyone. We just wanted to thank you for your support thus far. The opening gig at Ding Dong was a cracker. Thanks to all of you for making it such a brilliant way to kick off the year. We just got back from Port Fairy Folk Festival too, where we had a ball and made a few new friends along the way. A beautiful place to get stuck into a few songs and a few brews also! We welcome all of our new friends who have contacted us since. We are very happy to make your acquaintance. Hopefully we'll see you back there in a couple of years time.
So we are off to NSW again. For all of you up that way, we will be tearing into Newcastle this Friday night 20th March, where we will be playing with the brilliant Mojo Juju and also the incredible Crooked Fiddle Band, at The Cambridge Hotel. See you there for what will undoubtedly be a mad night. For all you Sydney folk, the madness will continue at The Sandringham Hotel in Newtown on Saturday 21st March, where we will be joined by the fantastic Simon Craw and Sonia from the Babyshakers as well as our staunch celtic brothers in arms The Rumjacks. It will also be the east coast launch for our single 888!
And by the way, our album has been mastered and the art work is into full swing, so we anticipate a release in May/June!!!
Just finally we would like to say a big hello and get well for our good mate Kim who had a bit of a fall recently. From all of us we wish you a speedy recovery darling. We look forward to seeing you soon.
And to EVERYONE...
HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY!!!
