My art is on Ebay!

I have an Indiana Jones Heritage artist return (artist proof) card! It's one of my favorite scenes. Marion is tending to Indy's wounds and manages to injure him more. Plus it's right before their kiss!

Anyway:) Here's the image and Ebay link:

I also relisted this Dr. Who painting. I pulled it an hour after I listed it, I realized I wasn't ready to part with it! But my bills need tending to. So it's up again:

Just got home from BELGIUM!!! I want to write this down before I forget. We were there for 6 days and I came down with a wicked cold the night before we left, but fun times were had despite my body hating me. Here's some random thoughts and photos under the influence of cold medicine...

We left Thursday morning from LAX and flew for 12 hours (with one stop at Newark) and landed in Brussels around 8am. It was so beautiful! We got to the hotel, NH Gent Hotel, dropped off stuff and walked along the river up to the main city of Gent. I took so many pictures. We had trouble ordering food because none of the menus were in English, but luckily most everyone who lives in Belgium speaks Flemish (Belgian-Dutch), French, English and some Spanish. We saw castles, some of the most beautiful churches I've ever been in, walked in cobblestone streets. I tried to take a lot of pictures on this trip, because I don't know if I'll ever have the opportunity to get back there. A few things I noticed: Everyone there is absolutely beautiful, men and women. I can only remember 2 women who wore a lot of makeup or had noticeably dyed hair, everyone else was naturally stunning. Lots of dark hair and blue eyes. It's a public transport city with lots of trams and the bike lanes are always packed, so most everyone was fit and walked twice as fast as we did. I also noticed that most all of the women used perfume. Nothing musky or crappy, it was always fresh, floral and clean smelling. The huge fashion over there for women was t shirts, skirts, leggings or opaque tights with slouchy boots, those pencil thin cigarette pants, and NO logo or brand names showing. Hardly any tattoos or piercings...And the only piercing I did see a couple times was the nose piercing. Also, everyone who noticed we spoke english just flipped the switch and responded to us in English. Everyone was truly nice. We went to a restaurant one of the nights, we were tired and starving after the convention, and I asked if they had English menus. She said no, but instead she sat down with us at the table and translated the entire menu, describing everything. I can't believe how nice that was.

On Saturday night after the first day of the show, the people putting on the show were nice enough to treat us to a beautiful dinner with most all of the guests. It was in an old house that was converted into a restaurant. It had beautiful chandeliers, candles everywhere, original oil paintings, a beautiful back garden...It was a beautiful building. The food was good too! I had champagne and tried fois gras (duck liver). For the main course, the waiters tried to have the menus translated from french, but there wasn't a word for the main course...I ordered the "Chicken like bird"! I'm assuming it was pheasant or something along those lines. it had thick black hair on it's skin. Hmm. We sat with Richard Hatch (APOLLO from original Battlestar Galactica!!) who is SO nice! Also sat with Paul McGillian and Cliff Simon from Stargate SG1, all hilarious and great people.

As far as the F.A.C.T.S. Convention, the show was so great! One of the busiest conventions I've ever been to! I drew the entire show. I took a couple 5 minute breaks, and walked the floor one time before the doors opened on Sunday, had a glass of wine at the table on Sunday, but that's it. I drew sketch cards, bigger sketches, in sketchbooks, drawings on t shirts, all kinds of stuff. The people attending the show were great. Cleared out my art portfolio! Also the people putting on the show were absolutely amazing, all the volunteers made the show incredible. I had the pleasure of sitting next to crazy but awesome artist, Eric Basaluda, as well as other greats: Terry Moore, Michael Golden, and Romano Molenaar.

I took so many pictures, so I guess I will just start posting. Enjoy! I had an amazing time, despite getting sick.

More coming in part 2!

Wow, this was a pretty awesome San Diego Comic Con!
I didn't get to connect with family while there, but I have a feeling I'll be up in SD very soon, so most likely then. This was a show for reconnecting with friends, meeting people I feel like I've known forever, and getting some great opportunities. Lots of good stuff going on. I can't believe I didn't get more pictures with my friends, gah! Next time.
Steve's been posting the photos I took at the show, but here they are in case you didn't see them:

Me, our awesome pal David, and Steve!

Another pal Jett!

The rest of these photos were taken by me throughout the weekend. There's A LOT.

Traffic. It usually takes us 2.5 hours to drive down to San Diego, but this time it took a little over 5. We left at 10am. A Von's grocery truck had tipped over on the freeway at 7am, throwing groceries and meats all over the freeway. It caught on fire and hit a couple other cars. Luckily no one was seriously injured, but it wasn't fun crawling along on the freeway for 5 hours.

Steve and I in front of the CBR boat! It was beautiful.

Steve's interview on the CBR boat. We ran here right from the drive down.

This is how we felt. What an interesting way to start off the weekend!

Steve did a signing with Ashley Wood (pictured here), Ben, and Cliff.

Ben Templesmith doing some awesome drawings for fans.

Batman being interviewed for MSN.com.

This photo is all kinds of awesome.

The signed 30 Days of Night poster on display at Gentle Giant.

The newest toy from Gentle Giant, the little girl from 30 Days!

I love this model. Promoting 30 Days: Dust to Dust.

She's great too! They wouldn't smile or talk.

A little My Little Pony action.

A chrome MLP?! Can I have that?

The lovely Rebecca and me in the DC booth!

My stalker photo of Mark Hamill. He was on G4 right before Steve went on!

The G4 show, Attack Of The Show! live from Comic con.

The police dog had his tail between his legs, he was scared of all the activity around him! It was sweet to watch the dog jump up and put his arms around his cop buddy.

The IDW panel with Darwyn Cooke, Steve, Ben Templesmith, and Joe Hill. My camera shoots a bright light before it focuses, Ben was the only one to notice it.

Ted Raimi was on the panel for a little bit too!

Wow.

Steve and Ashley Wood's Popbot at the IDW booth.

Darwyn Cooke is a fellow leftie! People used to say that was a sign of evil. The word left in Italian is Sinistra, which is where we get sinister. Hmm!

I think Ben is getting annoyed with me taking so many damn pictures.

30 Days of night signing! Director David Slade, Ben Templesmith, Megan Franich (she played Iris in the movie), and Steve.

Ben signing a lighter.

David signing the lighter.

Megan.

Some cutie.

Blurry, but cute.

Reunited and it feels so good!

Oh. Spoke too soon.
LOVE you guys!

The view from the hotel room.

Last but not least, I conquered my childhood fears and got close to a Killer Clown from Outer Space.

Here's some art from the Heroes convention...I did a lot more sketches in sketchbooks, but of course forgot to take pictures. Please excuse the photographs, they were mostly all done at the show so no scanner!

Sold.

Sold this one too. It was a small size, maybe 4"x6". A comfortable size since I'm so used to working on sketch card size!

I don't think I sold this one...

This was finished at the show for a very nice guy, Colin! He's got an amazing Asaaj sketch he got from Cat a couple shows ago..it's truly awesome.

This was sketch card was for the Silent Auction.

I started this painting 2 years ago, and I finally finished it right before we left. Sold it to a lovely couple there! I was sad to see it go, I have a special place in my heart for Predator.

This is my Art Auction piece. It's 16"x20" on canvas...I was so nervous about putting it in the show, but it did well. I'm happy! The colors don't all show up here, but it's pretty vibrant.

So another movie/painting marathon tonight! Wow, a lot of exclamations in this post. Can you tell I'm in a good mood? Tonight I made mediterranean turkey burgers with feta and olives, and now I'm going to make baked cinnamon apples. Yum!
