Funny thing when something that needs to be said or
something that you'd like to say, you can't find the words to say it.
This past Saturday night one of our close friends and bass player,
Brian Redman, was involved in a motor vehicle accident and passed away. Waking
up the next morning to the news was very painful. Trying to collect thoughts,
reflecting on all the time I had spent with him, rethinking if I had heard it
correctly, is he really gone? It just couldn't be. I'll never see my friend
again and I am beyond words to describe how that makes me feel.
I'll never forget Brian Redman, hard to forget a
guy that was a walking party. No matter who came in contact with Brian, they
were instantly attracted to him. He was one of the most sincere, sarcastic,
witty, intelligent, talented guys that you would meet. Even if he was having a
bad day, he put on a happy face to raise the spirits of those around him. He was
a good...no, he was a great friend to all those that he cared for and cared for
him.
As I sit and type this, I still can't find the
words to say what I would like to say. I'd like to write every single memory of
the past 12 years with Brian, I can't wrap my head around them to write them
down, besides...I don't think anyone would understand some of them other than me
and him, that leaves me completely hurt and sad that I will never be able to say
"hey, remember when..."
Last time I saw Brian, he was running around in a
pink tutu and corpse paint...that's the Brian that I loved and will never
forget. Life of the party.
Brian was one of the greatest people that I had in
my life, I will never forget him and I will miss him every single day.
I love you Brian Redman.

Hello Friends,
We're writing this to ask for a little help
and support. Trial has released a CD version of our 1999 LP “Are These Our
Lives?”. This was originally released in 1999 on another label. Throughout the
years that label decided to discontinue the lyrics in the booklet of their
version. We protested immediately. They continued to sell this version over the
years and we (Trial) have continued to receive emails from people who have
bought the record asking why we didn’t include the lyrics in the record.
Originally the lyrics were included.
Why would a hardcore band not have the lyrics included in their record? And
especially us? Lyrics have always meant so much to us. It’s a huge part of
hardcore and a huge part of our band. When we first learned about this, we asked
the label why the record no longer included the lyrics and we were told that it
was because it was cheaper for them to print the booklet without out the lyrics.
Understandable. We then asked if we could pay the difference. We also offered
to send them photocopies of the lyrics to send out with the orders so that they
were included in some form. We also asked if we could have our contact
information (a website) placed into the booklet so that people could go online
and find the lyrics. In short they said “no” across the board to these
requests, but they said it aggressively.
If you’re in a band you understand how
much work and time goes into a record . For your record to be misrepresented is
heartbreaking. We don’t care about the money, we never expected to see a dime
from the record. It could sell a million copies and we wouldn’t care as long as
it was represented in the light that we intended it to be.
This is why we’ve taken it upon
ourselves to release a 10 Year Anniversary Edition of “Are These Our Lives?”
that includes the full lyrics and expanded explanations, along with additional
writing about the origins of the ideas for the songs themselves. We’re not
putting this out to make money. In fact, we only care to have the record
available in the form that we intended it. We’re selling it for $5.00 in hopes
that people are no longer bummed when they buy the record and don’t get the full
record.
Since we’ve started playing shows here
and there, the other version has picked up in sales…please spread the word that
the version that is being sold currently by the other label does not include the
lyrics and the band (Trial) have never seen a dime from that record and probably
never will. This also includes ITunes and other digital outlets.
Because we’re sick of our record being
in the hands of a label that cares nothing about our record or us, we paid for
the manufacturing of this record out of our own pockets. We had hoped that we’d
have them in time for our two most recent shows. We unfortunately did not
receive them in time and now we’re hoping that we’ll be able to sell enough to
cover our costs.
If you want to help us break even on
the CD and pick up a copy, we’d be grateful. Again, we’re selling it for only
$5.00 and that includes a digital download of the songs.
Thanks for your time..

We're playing another show on April 22nd at the Vera Project in Seattle. We'll be playing with 108, Pulling Teeth, Wait In Vain, Parasitic Skies and others. Should be a good time. The place is small and a good amount of tickets have already sold, we're not saying this show will sell out, but there is a possibility.
http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=959874
We're also figuring out some more shows for Europe, South America and US shows later this year. We don't have exact dates...but they'll be late Summer/Fall when, and if, they happen. We'll keep everyone updated. We're also going to be re-releasing a 10 Year Anniversary Expanded Edition of our 1999 LP, "Are These Our Lives?". It will have the full lyrics and expanded explanations of all the songs and it will only be $7.00. Panic Records will be releasing this in time for the April 22nd show in Seattle.
I think that's everything right now. We'll post more information as it becomes available to us. The chakras are aligned.

Originally, I wasn't psyched at all on the Reunion DVD. When I initially saw the footage of the Seattle Reunion shows, I was completely disappointed. The angles didn't look good to me, the shots that were there, I felt missed things that I wanted in there. Overall...I thought...this DVD was going to be bad. Granted, I was only watching one camera at a time, still though...it just didn't seem like the ones who filmed, although they did their best, didn't catch everything I was hoping for. I think that's why the DVD took as long as it has to get moving. After lots of people asking about the DVD, wanting to have it. I decided it was time to get a move on it, what we had, was what we had and we'd make the best of it. 4 months ago I began working night and day and compiling as many extras as I could find to include on the DVD, it grew to a 2 disc DVD set. I wanted to make sure it had enough stuff to overshadow the idea that I had that the Seattle footage wasn't so hot. At least then, I wouldn't feel like kids were getting ripped off. I was so wrong in my thinking that the Seattle Reunion show would be awful to watch. With the skills of John EightClip...he took the footage and made it look as though we had the best camera crew ever. I just got the Edits of the DVD's and it all looks so amazing to me. I would have never imagined. John EightClip is seriously my hero. I can't even express to you how excited I am for everyone to see this DVD. A lot of work went into it and the end result is something that I'm proud of. I hope everyone else will be just as psyched. Looks like the preorders will be shipping in about 2 weeks. So psyched right now. Thank you John! Timm XXX P.S. If you want to preorder the DVD. The holiday preorder package ends tomorow night 11.30.07. There's still some left. www.panicrecords.net.

The Trial Reunion has come and gone. So many old friends friends came out of the woodwork for this. It was one of the most memorable nights ever. To put into words the crazines...forget it. It was insane. Thank you for everyone that travelled 1 to 5000 miles to be there with us. I still stand awestruck that people would spend that kind of time and money to see Trial. To know that Trial means as much to others as much as it does to us, is incredible.
Most people know that we are flying to Budapest to play a show. From what I can tell, not many know that we are also playing London. We're going to be playing London England on November 18th at the Barfly, there are still tickets available and you can purchase them from ticketweb.co.uk. Please spread the word about this show as there hasn't been much promotion for it, and we're afraid that people don't know much about it.
The Budapest show is completely sold out now. Zoli and Norbi have busted their ass for this show and also in helping with the London show. We can't express how grateful we are for their help. Budapest is going to be a great show with awesome bands and great friends.
All Trial merch that was ordered at the Reunion has been sent off. You should be receiving in shortly. If you were unable to make the Reunion and wanted a shirt, we've made them available for mailorder. You can pick them up from www.panicrecords.net Reunion Shirts, Hoodies, Windbreakers and Show posters are all available now.
I think that's about all the news at the present time. I'll try to give a recap of the London and Budapest Reunion shows as soon as they go down. Also try to get some pictures up from the reunion shows too.

October 9th is getting closer. For those who are looking for tickets...sorry, the show is sold out. Neumos says they will open the curtains around the club so that those who were unable to get tickets can stand outside and watch from the street. You can mosh the passerbys.
Again, there are NO tickets left for this show. Please don't ask us for tickets, we DO NOT have any.
We have added one more show to the list of reunions. We'll be playing the UK on Friday November 18th. Since we have to stop there to catch a connecting flght to Budapest Hungary, we thought throwing in another show couldn't hurt. This will be at the Barfly in London, with The Break In, The Versus Project and November Coming Fire. The capacity is 250. Our friend DaveO says that there is a lot of interest in the show already and it will sell out. As soon as tickets are announced, don't wait around, get a ticket right away. Info: 020 7691 4244 or email: seguedaveo@fastmail.fm
