I’ve been staying up till around 4am every night this week writings songs, seems that I can only write in the middle of the night. Some on guitar and some on the piano (still learning) Trying to get lyrics finished as I’m going up to An Tobar on Mull this weekend to record J I’m working towards an album just now which is exciting.

In other news… I’m doing a couple of songs on the Hogmanay show on BBC ALBA. One of my own then a cover with Karen Matheson! Really looking forward to it. So if you’re near a television between 11:30pm and 1am then tune in.

Aaaaalso, I was on RAPAL on BBC ALBA recently. You can check that out here -

Hello there,

Here's a review and some photo's from my gig at big tent festival :) Was the first gig with the new line up... Daniel Grant on drums and Craig Ainslie ripping the Bass.
Was a really fun show! Also, been recording alot of new material recently (getting the electric guitar more involved) so will get some of the new tunes up here soon. Will be doing alot more gigs towards winter when i've got more recording done but untilll then hope you can make it along to some of the shows in Octobar.
Speak soon,

Sorren.

"Following them onto the main stage on Sunday was young Sorren Maclean from Mull, effectively revving up the early evening crowd as the rain-clouds finally retreated. With an excellent new bassist and drummer in tow, his winningly hooky, upbeat, punchy roots-pop and vibrantly assured vocals soon had a throng of dancers disregarding the mud, even if his usual bravura guitar solos were hampered by a broken pinkie"

"THERE was disappointment at the news that Dundonian singer-songwriter Michael Marra, who'd been due to open this double-bill with the four accompanists featured on his latest recording, Quintet, was too ill to appear. Stepping impressively into the breach, Sorren MacLean – the 19-year-old son of Marra's bass player – possessed both a vibrantly powerful voice and a very nice line in catchy, exuberant acoustic pop, laced with rockabilly tinges and delivered with bags of confidence."

Hello,

Here's a review of our gig in King Tut's for the T break showcase.

'Fortunately, we were awoken from our slumbers by the folk pop summery vibes of the Sorren Maclean Band. Immediately engaging the crowd with his likeable manner, Sorren, helped out by his father on an enormous double bass, proceeded to deliver an assured set of sun-soaked Celtic melodies that would go down a treat on a hot summer's day. The crowd responded to his enthusiasm by (shock, horror!) indulging in some actual dancing! And with that the night was well and truly up and running.

Thanks to everyone who came to support us and a big thanks to Jenny Soep for sketching us. www.jennysoep.com

Here's a link to the rest of the reviews of the night.
