So, it has been a minute Myspace friends.  I must admit, the focus lately has been much more on Twitter. and Facebook. and redoing the TSLOS website which is now up and mostly functional.

Got a couple of 7"s coming up this year, the RADIUS 'south chicago remix' 7", YOUTH : KILL VS TENSHUN remix 7", two Player 1 albums, GILEAD 7 & IB FOKUS 'The Advent' and the long-awaited
CHRONIC ARGONAUTS compilation featuring PJ Sumroc, Kaptain Nemo, Sharkula, Masai Bey, K-the-i-???, Skatterbrain the Acid Atheist, Drunken Master, Radius, Thavius Beck, Maker and lots more.. so stay tuned!

Yessir it is coming this May, the Process of Automation EP. What can I say about this record? It is sonically brilliant. The combination of WG and K-the-i-??? makes for infinite levels of dopeness. You have the rapidfire genius of Kiki and WG's chopped and screwed industrial noise ambient audio extravaganza with beats that will ravage your bowels and words to feed your mind.

I think it is fair to say that this a necessary purchase for anyone into forward-thinking hip-hop or experimental audio in general.

For all you record collecting vermin, there are 200 copies on clear vinyl reserved for TSLOS mailorder (available in the Shop at TSLOS.com).

New shit coming up from Player 1, Chronic Argonauts compilation and PJ Sumroc. Peep the site, all feedback is welcomed. Thanks for checking it out. Peace....

The Hood Internet does some dope stuff, lots of remixes and mashups for the radio and, as the name implies, the internet.... Now they have done a really cool remix of Radius's 'Bucktown' and a verse from Vyle (noted MC from the Chi)

Download it here

So... the Black Box is done. Its a simple enough black box that houses two albums, the elaborate Tempus and the more stripped down (and rearranged) Black Box disc. And some scribbled notes. I'll edit this and add more info. but in the meantime you can check out http://www.tslos.com PEACE

Okay so I wanted to take a minute to tell you about the newest arist on TSLOS. He is an instrumental boom bap producer from Chicago named Radius (myspace.com/radius) and he does keep shit in the loop like 360! Since we met at Sonotheque through a mutual friend we've been brainstorming about doing something on the label, and 2008 is the time.

RADIUSHEAD is a remix of Kid A/Amnesiac sessions. It is available for free download at Radiushead.com ;... its really different than those OTHER radiohead remix projects. Very chill and subtle layers of sound, definitely worth a listen.

NEIGHBORHOOD SUICIDE drops March 25 and it is a monster! Skull crushing drums and banging beats in a soundscape portrait of Chicago in sound. Keep you eyes peeled and your ears open, because as always with TSLOS our aim is to completely flip the way people look at hip-hop (and just music in general) in a positive way. So, get ready for Radius.

Awwight so we pushed Sharkula's Diagnosis of Sharkula LP back to 12/03/07 and guess who picks the same date to come out. Tony Starks. Nice one Starks. You haven't been hungry since Supreme Clientele. Lets do battle.

A`lright so we have two new LPs dropping simultaneously at the beginning of November after many delays.... INVISIBILE SUPERSTARS VOL 001 (a comp of instrumental hip-hop, experimental noise, electronic music, etc.) and THE DIAGNOSIS OF SHARKULA vinyl.... and hell maybe even the DIAGNOSIS OF SHARKULA CD.  If you go to tslos.com you can see my "main" blog, but why would you want to do that unless you want to read my ramblings about sneakers and dumb shit like that. And maybe music. Whats up people???

So it appears that I'm not too good at blogging.  I haven't really used this forum to post many original thoughts, and for a while this was just a way for me and Jay to post updates to the secretlifeofsound website.  Which is updated now, with new distributed releases  too, by the way.

If you want updates on what is happening with the label, check out the website, as Jay is better about updating it than I am. Like, if you go there right now you can find a link to the K. NEMO interview on fun vampires. Its a pretty funny piece. http://www.secretlifeofsound.com

When I get a chance to sit down and try to unload whats going on in my head, personally, I tend to use the TSLOS podcast, kind of like Terminator X except I only speak with my Podblast.  Basically its me mixing together records and sometimes movies and stuff and filtering it through the wall of noise. I will probably try to do one more in the next month or so, because Cindy is due at the end of April, and this studio must be vacated to make way for a crib!! Hopefully it will be warm enough in March for me to move into the garage? Grant and I are also looking at the possibility of a small RCF warehouse for band rehearsals too, but we'll see
