Current mood:wistful
tres chicas have lost a dear friend in drew glackin, bass player with the Silos and all around amazing musician with tons of other bands, caitlin and tonya go way back in musical life with drew and i had only  recently been introduced to him through mine and caitlin's november acoustic tour with him and walter .....what a wonderful character and musician, he played every instrument it seems with almost every band and was one of the friendliest, funniest guys i ever shared miles in a backseat in a van with.
if you knew drew i am sorry for your loss, our hearts go out to his friends and family, and if you did not meet him out there in the world, you've probably met someone who has, or was in some way  affected by him, so you can bask in that warm glow, since i'm sure he blessed everyone he knew, might have cursed a few too on a bad day....but thats ok.....(caitlin and i know its our fault we locked you out of walters apt............and it was reallllllllly cold...........when you found us warm and sipping red wine at the lakeside, we knew we were in trouble, I wish everybody was that nice to me when i screwed up)
we love you drew....
go the silos my space page or drew glackin's(hes our number one friend right now) or drewglackin.com for comments and pictures and get to know somebody cool.
love yall
lynn.

Hi Folks,

Well, We did it. SXSW is done. We had a fantastic, exhausting, and rewarding time. We pulled off 9 performances, and could not be happier with the outcome. We are looking very forward to our upcoming run of the Northeast, and more info on a West Coast tour coming real soon.

Thanks to all of our good friends who came to see us, hung out with us, and sheltered us in Austin. We love you all!! A special thanks to Aaron Oliva for stepping in and playing bass with us!! We love ya A.!

XOXOXO, Chicas

More about Bloom, Red & The Ordinary Girl

"When Caitlin Cary (ex-Whiskeytown), Tonya Lamm (ex-Hazeldine) and Lynn Blakey (Glory Fountain) bring their voices together, they convey sweet heartache and the world-weary acceptance that comes to insightful gals on the tall side of thirty," raves Rolling Stone. The sophomore effort from Tres Chicas was recorded in London and features the production work of Neil Brockbank and Robert Trehern and guest appearances by Nick Lowe and Geraint Watkins. The broadened instrumentation and musical range found on the new record serves to better highlight the impeccable interplay between their voices and the passionately romantic, soulfully earthbound stories of love contained within their lyrics. Says No Depression, "It's tempting to focus on the beauty resulting from the harmony of these three voices, but the truest strength is the songwriting."
