 Finalist in 2009 Southern Stars - The Australian Independant Country Music Awards

Hi everyone!

Some great news.. I am a Finalist for the 'Female Vocalist of the Year' with my song "Some Kind of Miracle" in the 2009 Southern Stars - The Australian Independant Country Music Awards in Mildura this year.

I'm very honoured and excited to be in such great company for this prestigious award along with Amber Lawrence, Harmony James & Tania Kernaghan. The winners will be announced at the annual Mildura Country Music Festival on Saturday the 3rd October, 2009.

I've spent the last few months mostly gigging - in QLD and a few in NSW and writing for my second album. So far so good.. The second half of the year and early next year looks like a bit of travel for me with shows in QLD, NSW & WA. Those of you who know me well know that I love to travel so if I'm in your neck of the woods, stop by and say hi!

Hi everyone,

Another quick update for you.. 

I'll be singing the National Anthem at Doomben Races, Hamilton QLD this Sat 23rd May as part of the Winter Racing Carnival.  The Carlton Draught Doomben 10,000 is the race of the day and after 5pm, Evermore will be playing.

So if you are around, come and have a day out at the races.  Hope to see you there!

Rose has Everything She Needs....

Whilst travelling throughout ..Africa.. on a life changing adventure in 2005, Rose Carleo began writing her latest single, Everything I Need.

Inspiration for the track came from an old family friend who Rose caught up with whilst on her journey.

Peter, who had lived all his life in a small village in ..Tanzania.., Africa, was telling Rose about his time in the USA where he had been granted a scholarship to study. Having travelled half the world to better his education, Peter was stunned to discover how people he met in America perceived him.

“Rose, I didn’t know I was poor until they told me I was.” he said.

This one statement completely changed Rose’s observation on life.

“Peter’s story is like so many other people’s stories.” said Rose. “We live in a world with our own ideas and beliefs on who we are, but how other people perceive us is something we cannot control.’

“I realized how lucky I am” she said. “It’s not what you have that matters, it’s who and what you are inside.”

Peter’s story inspired Rose to start composing the track, Everything I Need, whilst continuing her journey throughout ..Africa... She finished writing the track with Golden Guitar winner, Michael Fix once she returned home to Australia.

Everything I Need, is the title track from Rose’s debut album.

“When I’m writing songs, I look for catalysts — maybe things that have happened to me, but often stuff I’ve observed in other people’s lives. The crucial thing is to find a universal message in the song, something everyone can relate to,” Rose said.
