Current mood: amused
Greetings! Our gigs for this year are more or less done, and from now on we'll lurk in the dark underground caves of our studio until the fourth album is finished. Meanwhile, here's something for you to look at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKk1u5RMTn4
The legendary Elmeri Raitanen painstakingly remastered the Carnival of Rust video to bring out many new details, and added a whole new level of clarity and depth. Enjoy!
Also, if you missed our live studio recording of You Know My Name, check it out now:

And in case you missed these, here's some nice pictures from this Summer's gigs:
http://www.poetsofthefall.com/photogallery/live/
We also added some of them to our MySpace gallery.
That's it for now, more updates in the future... have a nice Summer, if applicable in your territory. Later!

Hey there,
We have two updates for you today! First, we have just launched a new section on our site called Clips & Bits, where we'll post funny (we hope) cellphone videos from our life. We'll try to be active and upload more videos soon! The videos will also appear here in our MySpace profile in the near future. Check it out:
http://www.poetsofthefall.com/clipsandbits/
And last but not least - please spend a minute of your time and help our very good friends at Remedy Entertainment. Their upcoming game Alan Wake was just shown at E3 in Los Angeles, and you can now vote for the game in a couple of polls:
http://forum.alanwake.com/showthread.php?t=2245
Great big thanks from us and Remedy! See you tomorrow in Lahti!

Current mood: crazy
A quickie this time: We just noticed (yes, we are a little slow at times) we receive a huge amount of private messages thru MySpace, Facebook and other online services. While it's always great to get your fantastic feedback, remember that we are not able to read and certainly not answer every single message. We could easily spend the rest of the year just going thru the messages and replying to you guys, and while that would certainly be fun, we have an album (among other things) to finish. Keep the messages coming, but if you have something that needs a reply, please get in touch with our management instead. You can find the contact details from our official homepage: http://www.poetsofthefall.com/contact/Thanks for your understanding! A bigger blog update follows later, as well as other cool stuff, like a new official discussion forum! Keep your eyes open.. Thanks, POTF

Current mood: electric
Hey friend! Do you see yourself as a dedicated and loyal Poets of the Fall fan? Do you think they have made a difference in your life, one way or another? Would you have missed something really special if you didn't love their music? Do you have an amazing story or a nice little piece of memory you would like to share with the other fans and the world? Do you just simply love them like no other band? If you answered " yes" to any of these questions, keep on reading! We are in search of fan stories we could use in a Poets of the Fall project. We can't tell you exactly what it is, yet, but you will hear more about it soon. But we can assure you: you're gonna love it and you really really want to be a part of it. So, here's what we are looking for:* Stories related to Poets of the Fall and YOU as a fan. The story needs to be somehow special, but also true. Did you find the love of your life on the Poets forum? Did you meet your best friend in a club while waiting for the band to perform? Did you get your spirits up by a Poets song on a rainy day? * Photos. These aren't a must, but they would be a good bonus to go with your story. It can be just you in the photo, or you and some band members, or an item or a place related to the story. The photo should be of good quality. But, you don't have to worry about this too much just yet. We can discuss this further if your story gets chosen. * We are considering the use of fan-made drawings, paintings & poetry inspired by the band's music. You can send these too! Just remember that although we have seen some great ones, we aren't in need of wallpapers, banners or other computer/website -related stuff. Also, we can't really use any audio- or videofiles. Just stuff that can be printed. ----- If your story or work is included in the final project, this is what you get as a reward:* Your artwork or photos published in the project that's totally about your favourite band - and you! It can be published with your real name or an alias, you get to decide. * Pride & glory! * T-shirts, cds and/or something Really Special. ----- Sounds good? Here's what you need to do:* Write your story, scan your artwork, make sure your photo looks good, whatever you need to do. If you have more than one good story, we want them all! Please use English or Finnish in your story. * Write us an email with everything attached, plus the following info: your full name (will not be published anywhere without your permission), contact info, age & location. You can also put in some additional notes about you or your work if you think it's necessary. NOTE! If you need to send us big files, put them on the web and send us the link instead. Or, at least send them in a separate email. * The deadline for the entries is the end of this year (2008). Easy to remember! * Send your entry to: mypoets@poetsofthefall.com. Please use this email only for sending your entries, or if you need further instructions. Check the band's website for other contact information: http://www.poetsofthefall.com/contact/ * Everything you send us will be strictly confidential. If your entry is chosen for the final project, we will contact you by email, and discuss the details with you. In any case, we will not give out your name, email or other information under any circumstances. Remember: HAVE FUN with this and don't take it too seriously! :)With love, The Project Team

Current mood: excited
Hey!Just a little update: Like you may have noticed, we managed to arrange gigs in Moscow & St. Petersburg in December! We can't wait to meet you guys, you have always been among the best audiences we have had. Remember to check the latest venues and dates at http://www.poetsofthefall.com/tourdates/In other news: Revolution Roulette singleThe Revolution Roulette single is out! It's released as a radio promo only, but you can help us by requesting and voting for it on radio. Check out this list of radio stations, and don't forget your local station! Thanks a million! Take cover!Lately, we have been involved in not one but two separate cover projects! First, we took part in The Voice's "Livenä Vieraissa" sessions, where popular artists and bands record a studio live cover of their choice, plus one song of their own. We chose Chris Cornell's Bond theme "You Know My Name", probably because it's been constantly playing in our heads since the movie, and "Diamonds for Tears" as our own song. The songs will be released as an album on October 29th, and you can see a video of our live performance on The Voice in November. More info will be available soon on our website! Next, there was a tribute album to the Finnish band Dingo, which was very popular in the 80's. The album will feature several Dingo covers from various Finnish bands and artists, including our version of an originally unreleased song "Tobacco Road". The album will be released on October 29th. Check out more info and listen to the songs online here!(Don't worry, this does not mean we will turn into a cover band - these two interesting projects just happened to cross our paths almost at the same time...) Thanks for reading, see you soon! - Marko, Olli & Captain

Hey everybody,
The 2008 part of the Revolution Roulette tour is coming to end, so we thought we'd say a quick hello to you all. Thanks ever so much for hanging out with us, supporting us and coming to see us at the gigs. You guys are the flavour to this soup for us. Ha ha, quite the metaphor, that... um, never mind :)
Anyways, there's still a couple of shows you can see this year. You can still get tickets, until they run out, so don't waste a second.
We'll be performing in Tampere and finally at Tavastia in Helsinki, where we will also have a cool new band performing as a warm up act. They're called Phoenix Effect and they're really great guys. You can check them out at MySpace, as well as at Facebook!
Also check out our latest live photos from this years tour.
Have a great rest of 2008!
Mark, Ol & Cptn

Hey everyone!
Half done, other half to go (of summer, that is)! So far, our summer has been a carefully-balanced combination of touring, making new music, and even some vacation and relaxing. Thanks to you, our gigs have felt more like fun than work. And judging from what we have seen from the stage, you have had a good time too. It's really hard to pick any favourites among so many great gigs, but we'll have to mention at least Ruisrock, which was something we'll remember for a long time. And Kuopio. And Imatra. And Tampere. And...
But we do have some actual news too:

Diamonds for Tears video out now & POTF on YouTube
The music video for our latest single Diamonds for Tears has been released! You can see it on our brand new YouTube channel, which also has the whole POTF videography online. We'll add live performances and other fun stuff in the future. Enjoy!
http://www.youtube.com/user/PoetsOfTheFallBand
Revolution Roulette sells gold
Our latest album Revolution Roulette has sold gold in Finland! The limit was broken just two weeks after the album's release. The gold records were handed to us in front of tens of thousands of people in the Kaivopuisto park concert in June. It's hard to describe the feeling when a huge audience sings "Happy Birthday" to you, but again, what else can we do than thank all you wonderful people? (In case you are wondering the song choice, the Finnish lyrics of "Happy Birthday" don't specifically mention a birthday, so the song can be used for all kinds of congratulations.)
New live photos
Unless you already do so, remember to check our official Live Photo Gallery from time to time! You can experience the coolest, hottest and most embarrassing moments from the best gigs! It's almost like being there! We also added some highlights to our MySpace photos, but be sure to check the official Live Photo Gallery to get the whole story.
http://www.poetsofthefall.com/photogallery/live/
We don't want to use any more of your precious time, so go out and enjoy the sunshine (unless you happen to live in Finland, in which case you can feel the rain). See you!
