Hello y'all, and greetings from beautiful Chicago.

We are thrilled to have arrived back on US soil and to be starting our tour today!Xx

This historic day also marks the release on these shores of our new extended player entitled 'Young Fight', which features 2 new tracks, and a cut from each of the 'Out Of The Angeles' EP's, never before released in the land of the free.

It's available in future-techno-takeover-apocalypse-binary format on iTunes HERE, Amazon HERE, and on a charming caveman relic known as the compacted disque. The latter contains 'artwork' that is individually screen printed onto recyclable cardboard 'sleeves' and hand numbered, and are available at shows or for billions of yen from a hard, tight, dusty web-corner.

We are also intensely jazzed to announce shows in Germany and Holland a little later this year. A lot of which are with our righteous buddies Silversun Pickups, a heroically awesome band of dudes and dudette all must agree. These dates look something like this (with other shows on the continent soon to be confirmed):..

November
13th Eindhoven
,
Effenaar
14th Haarlem, Patronaat
15th Utrecht, Ekko
16th Frankfurt, Batchskapp*
17th Stuttgart, Longhorn*
18th Munich, Backstage Werk*
19th Hannover, Faust*
20th Rostock, Mau Club*
21st Berlin, Privat Club
*w/SSPU's

In the meantime we shall be finishing our new record shortly, and it shall be released early in the new year, at which time we shall see those elsewhere in the free world!

Thanking you for listening and looking forward to seeing you soon!

Love Michael and Amusement Parks Xx

OK so we are venturing out to play shows around the UK from Sunday! I cannot WAIT to get the hell out of Nottingham and experience the simple and beautiful feeling of being completely surrounded by vague noise and flashing lights, everything's a bit too real at the moment and as we are all painfully aware, reality is at best totally boring, and at worst a non-existent and painfully futile figment of the collective human consciousness' imagination. So yes, back to our natural habitat for a few weeks! The Irish leg of this tour (which happened, confusingly, like two months ago now) was beautiful and epic, so we're really excited about these shows. This may be the last time we play in the UK for a while too, as we are (hopefullly :-/) going to the US at the end of May for the best part of 4 months or something. And we my never come back! So yes, come and see us this time if you're local! We have a couple of headline shows starting Sunday then we join the ace 65daysofstatic www.myspace.com/65propaganda for some dates. They're performing a lot of their new material, so maybe we will too, what do you think?! Then we have a couple of weeks of headline shows. The reason I started this rambling and pointless blog was to tell you about some of the awesome folks supporting us on these shows! We have Jeniferever www.myspace.com/jeniferever playing with us in Derby on Monday, which is wild! They're great and I'm sure most of you will be into them already. We also have our long-time buds and collaborators SWIMMInG www.myspace.com/swimmingband playing in Sheffield and Nottingham. We'll work out something extra specil for those shows! And the London date (the last of the tour) is ridiculous:.. We have Love Like Fire www.myspace.com/lovelikefire from Vegas, just listen to 'William' and you shall see! And also We Show Up On RadaR www.myspace.com/wsuor opening the evening. It's gonna be rad beyond belief! So we look forward to seeing you! Really! We're so so close to having 'Young Fight' mastered and ready to play folks, which is exciting to say the least! Our pal Brain Aubert from Silversun Pickups was kind enough to sing back-up vocals on the first track, and Michael Patterson (BRMC, Beck's Midnite Vultures) has been aptly legendary and mixed the first side. Sweet. So yes we shall keep you posted! Especially those across the pond, we will have dates for you soon! Thanks for listening! Lot's of love.......Michael and Amusement Parksx xx

dear cyber friends:
please read the following and follow the link to sign this petition if you havn't already.
it appears that our government is considering introducing new sound level restriction laws based on the morbid views of people who would never consider attending said venues anyway...
"It has been brought to attention that the government wish to consider it a legal requirement in the new tax year to introduce laws insisting anyone applying or re-applying for an entertainment license must have a noise control device fitted to the venue.
It would mean that if the volume got to a certain level the system would cut out. Rubbish.
This will be the final NAIL for ALL entertainment in the UK as the level at which these devices CUT you off is really low. Rubbish.
PLEASE DO NOT INTRODUCE THIS LAW, WE LOVE LIVE MUSIC!"
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/NoNoiseControl/
indeed, the freedom of the live musician is essential!
big love..............x x x
