Corb Lund will be performing the Canadian National Anthem and singing the Oilers song he wrote called “The Oil’s Back in Town” this Thursday when the Oilers take on the Nashville Predators. "I wrote this song a few years ago because I love the Oilers, I'm really excited that the team wants to associate themselves and their Foundation with it,” said Corb Lund. “It makes me feel a bit like a kid again, frankly! I grew up watching them play and there's nothing like the Oilers energy that buzzes around Edmonton every winter. I'm thrilled to be part of it and glad it will help people here through the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation." Starting today, Corb’s Oilers song will be available for purchase exclusively iTunes. To download the song and check out the lyrics go to iTunes via CISN country music page at cisnfm.com. Net proceeds from the song will be donated to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation to be distributed to charitable organizations throughout Oil Country. “The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation is thrilled to welcome Corb to our game and have him perform his song for our fans,” said Natalie Minckler, EOCF’s Executive Director. “Corb’s generosity is overwhelming and we’re honored to re-distribute these funds throughout Oil Country.” If you want to Catch Corb and the Oilers action live, the game starts at 7:30pm with limited seats remaining at edmontonoilers.com.
