Just in case my bio was a little TMI..just want to point out that if you are in the need to archive/listen to your 1" 16-track tapes from the past era, I have a working Tascam MS16 and would be happy to do the work. In case those tapes are gummy, I have the recipe to restore them (using a convection oven) so that the transfer can be done. The tracks are transferred to WAV files that can be used on pretty much any DAW. Contact me here or at richmattson@gmail.com for pricing.

I made a solo record, it is called "Inspiral Notebooks". I had a lot of free time this winter, and since it was free, I used my studio to put together 14 songs. Some of the songs had been collecting dust on the shelf for many years. I went through and found some old ones that I thought were good, and wrote a bunch more too. I stayed up until 5 am putting bongos and guitars on, figuring out parts for my new Thomas organ and stuff, harmonizing..it is a weird album.
This in no way signals the end to Ol' Yeller, don't get that idea. Ol' Yeller is slowly working on another record as well, and nothing beats rocking out with my buds. We'll probably be playing some of these Inspiral Notebooks songs real soon.
The cd will be released on April 24. This would have been my dad's 65th birthday, had he survived. April 24, 2007 is also one day after my 40th birthday. Yeah!
I'll have the music available online some time in May, meanwhile come to a show if you want one..updates are at: myspace.com/olyeller
