This show has been in the planning stages for months, and was one that I had really been looking forward to, knowing all along that it was going to be a good one. I meet a lot of artists doing these shows, and in general, most of them are quite nice, very supportive, and easy to work with. (Yes, there have been "exceptions.") Very few, however, are as genuinely amicable as Bobby Clark. From the first few minutes you talk to him, you feel like this is a guy you've known for years, and he reciprocates by treating you like one of his oldest and dearest friends. He talks about his life in the laid-back manner of a master storyteller with a big smile and a twinkle in his eye -- well, except when he's wearing his trademark sunglasses -- and seems to treasure every moment of of a lifetime spent entertaining people with music.

Ah, yes, the music. The most distinguishing thing I found about Bobby is that, unlike many of his more-contemporary peers, he simply loves playing for an audience. He admits to enjoying cover shows as much as original music shows, and is for the most part unconcerned with whether he's playing to six people or six thousand people, as long as they're having a good time. My favorite line of the interview, and I think the most-telling when coming from a three-decades-plus veteran of the music scene: "The only thing I truly understand about this whole thing ... is that I hear songs in my head, and I want other people to hear them."

    His latest album "Between You and God" project was released last May and is available via Burnondemand.com.

    It was produced and recorded by Scott Brown at Ashbrook Studios in Evansville, Indiana.

    Bobby has previously played with Toby Meyers of Roadmaster and Jimmy Reiser.

    The latest incarnation of his band for at least the first half of 2010 consists of several veteran rockers, including three of whom who appeared on this interview.

    Blue Square Sound and Indy In-Tune are proud to present the first (hopefully annual) "Virtual Battle of the Bands." Band submissions are due in the month of December, voting and judging is through the month of January. So far, over $1000 in cash and prizes is on the line, with that purse expected to grow as we try to bring on sponsors. Check out our Battle Page for details as they become available.

Wes Rucks of Evansville Courier Press will be having the Bobby Clark Band in the Studio to do an interview and a Live performance. They will Shoot this and the episode will air June 12th. Bobby Clark is doing what he does best, making great music. Hailing from the outskirts of Evansville, IN, he grew up in the belly of the heartland rock world and the songs live up to the lineage. Bobby has lived the life often sung about in his music. The son of a preacher, a man that has made his living of hard work, someone who has clashed with the law and society, Bobby has a song and opinion about every topic.

A believer in hard work and sweaty Midwestern bar rock, he has honed his craft of writing memorable and catchy rock songs over the years with hundreds of shows under his belt. With a catalog of over 200 songs, he has come to the attention of Midwestern rock lovers nationally and globally as his reviews on Garageband.com prove. Most notably he came to the attention of rocker John Mellencamp who purchased one of his rootsy, rocking songs “Grandview” for a future CD release.

The song tells the all too common story of people in southern Indiana who just want live a comfortable life rather than one of affluence and the conflict that desire creates.

Bobby released a new CD in May 2008 titled "Between You And God". These 16 songs are a mixture of life itself and the stories that follow the experience, and can be related to by anyone.

The live shows are where Bobby’s musical wit and magic come alive. Audiences that see Bobby Clark for the first time come away with a relationship that will last, and the experience of hearing songs that bring out all sides of the adventure we call life.

Bobby is currently working on a new format and rehearsing with the Band to bring you a very exciting new show in the months to come. His high energy Rock N Roll shows will  have an added punch to them!! He is currently in the Studio working on some new songs!! He's very excited about some of his new material. Stayed tuned!

We wanted to provide this information here so everyone would have a better idea of what Cover Songs Bobby does at his live shows. He does 80 percent cover songs and does add some of  his great Original Music. He is currently working on a Great New Show with the Band so be sure and come out to the shows!! Bobby Clark was commissioned A Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky / Steven L. Beshear. He was presented with the award at Ri Ra Irish Pub at the Festival for St. Baldrick's foundation Saturday 13th. by his Dear Friend David Hill. More info to follow..watch for a folder with pictures.
