Hi…

Firstly just to reassure you things are going rather smoothly for our August 11 event at the Union Chapel. This will feature the wonderful music of Helios, Goldmund and Rameses III. The penguin, puffins and polar folks have all been making some stars to put up at the UC.

So....The Hut this week explores smiling, frowning and trees that talk. The Circle this edition is mixed by Dave Howell and he takes us through the Fat Cat Records catalog, choosing a mixture of some classic older tracks with a few overlooked gems that deserve to be heard again (more details below).

The Chiller Cabinet is themed around the music of Airports.

Good friends to the Arctic Circle - Andy Nice and Katie English aka Isnaj Dui both have album out in the next few weeks. Go support them.

And we can now be found on Twitter, come follow (if you want to!) http://twitter.com/poplarp..enguin

Brought to you by Arctic Circle Radio, the Circle is a new weekly podcast that takes you on a one-hour journey based on the most simple and significant of shapes. Every Circle is unique; formed from a guest curator’s musical landscape and they all share the same revolutionary quality: each one ends at the point where it began.

Fat Cat Records Mix by Dave Howell: There’s no grand concept or narrative guiding the choices – it’s all stuff from the FatCat vaults, a mixture of some classic older tracks with a few overlooked gems that deserve to be heard again. I just started out with a track from Black Dice’s ‘Beaches & Canyon’s’, which I think works as a great opener, and from there, just basically picked things that I felt fit alongside one another and kept.

Chiller Cabinet (Edition 3: Chants, Hymns and Dances) 11 June 09

Now in its seventh triumphant year, the Chiller Cabinet continues to deliver a first class mix of ambience, movies and minimalism. Originally started on Classic FM, the show had one mission. That mission was to boldly go where no radio programme had gone before. It's crew took on the almighty task of bridging the gap between classical music and all other genres. A task they not only completed, but continues to excel at. Exploring themes and music from the fringe labels and artists the show is a ‘must listen’ on the digital station Chill. The Chiller Cabinet is out there.....

Hi...

The Chiller Cabinet playlist is now available via jointhecircle.net/radio

This is alongside the playlist for the new shows - The Hut and The Circle.

Also to to let you know you can hear the new shows on Chill (Tuesday at 10pm) and you can also download them anytime from jointhecircle.net/radio.

Unfortunately due to the complication of getting permission from all the labels involved the Chiller Cabinet won't be podcast for the moment. The odd future edition may be though, so do watch this space.

Anyhow let me know what you think of the new show...

Hi everybody…

After quite a few year of planning and refining. I’m proud to announce Arctic Circle radio is here. Responsible already for producing the Chiller Cabinet for the last 7 years, these are two show I've been working hard to put together.

They answer the main criticism I've been emailed. Why can't I download or listen to the show again. Well now you can as each show of these new shows is podcast. So you can enjoy the mixes again and again...

So each week you’ll be able to hear what inspiring the AC on a weekly in 2 new shows The Hut (i.e. me and a bunch of mp3s) and The Circle (i.e. a guest artists from the AC world compiling a weekly mix).

Let me know what you think,
