Saturday, November 21, 2009 is Trojan Day, a special visitation day planned just for you and your family to learn more about Troy University.
Troy University welcomes you to campus to enjoy an exciting Saturday the Trojan way! Faculty, staff, students and University officials will be available to answer your questions about academic programs, admissions, scholarships, financial aid, housing and students activities. Tours of the University will be available including the opportunity to visit our residence halls. College Fair 2009
Pensacola Junior College partners with the Escambia and Santa Rosa county school districts to host College Fair 2009 Sept. 14-15 at its Pensacola and Milton campuses.
For ..Escambia.. ..County.. students, the fair is 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the Hartsell Arena, Building 3, Pensacola campus, 1000 College Blvd.
Both events are free 
College Fair invites about 100 colleges, universities and technical schools from across the nation to participate. The goal is to provide high school juniors and seniors a place to meet representatives from many institutions who can answer questions about admission procedures, registration requirements, tuition and fees, degree programs, scholarships, financial assistance, student life and housing.
Community college students who plan to transfer to universities are encouraged to attend – as well as parents.

Step 1: Attend Class Academic success starts by attending your class!
Step 2: Be Prepared Make you study time (ex.assigned readings) a priority!
Step 3: Active Learning Be active listener while attending class by sitting in the front of the classroom and take notes can help with the active listening process.
Step 4: Talk to your Teacher At the beginning of the semester, introduce yourself to your teacher. Meet with you teacher before or after class. If you have questions just ask!
Step 5: Take Advantage of Academic Resources @ School Tutoring, Library, and College Reach-Out Program (CROP)

- The writer should have enough past interation with you to provide a genuine assessment of your skills and achievements.
- Choose recommenders with influental writing styles.
- provide your recommender the following info:
a written explanation of topics to be covered.
a resume' of your activities, interests, honors, grades, and awards.
A copy of your application essays.
As much lead time as possible for preperation
- Call the writer to ensure he or she has all the resources needed this shows support and helps to confirm your letter is in progress.
- After you receive the letter, send the writer a note of appreciation

The guidance office
Your guidance counselor can be an enormous help in the search for financial aid. Follow these tips to get the greatest benefit from their expertise.
- Make an appointment and introduce yourself early in your senior year
- Ask about local or less-known scholarship opportunities
- Discuss your situatuion honestly and ask for advice
- Respond to information requests quickly; help them help you by being timely
- Check in regularly to verify that your transcripts, test scores, and any other necessary information has been forwarded to your designated schools
- Keep them informed of your situation (offers and acceptances) and other needs you still have
