Greetings

Now that Christmas is more or less over and all that stands between us and normality is New Year, I figured now was as good a time as any to give you all a heads-up on my forthcoming plans, hopes and dreams for the year 2009.

Release-wise I shall be contributing a track for the Dead Pilot Records "Drone Poets" compilation, hopefully sometime around March time. I shall be featured alongside my friend Dag Rosenqvist AKA Jasper TX, Brian Grainger and a veritable plethora of others. You really should go here for sumptuous details.

Also still in the paddock is my collaboration with my good friend and Low Point Records head honcho/ladies' man/all-round good egg Gareth Hardwick, due to appear on the 'Aversions' remix/collaboration cd. This will feature myself, Chris Herbert, Machinefabriek, Steinbruchel, Strategy & Xela. Good times ahoy!

Live, I don't have anything planned as yet, although there are whispers of a possible appearance with Mr Hardwick sometime in January in Nottingham. Keep 'em peeled people! I'm hitting the European Trail with my band Souvaris in May so I might see if I can squeeze onto a bill or two. Again, I shall let you know as soon as I find out any details.

Well that's about it. Thankyou to everyone who has helped make 2008 a really fun year for me, and especially to those of you who have parted with your hard-earned cash to come and see me play or bought my cd's Valhalla awaits you, my friends!

So , until we meet again, thankyou and have a happy, healthy and peaceful new year.

AT EASE!!!

Hello

Thanks to all of you who have bought/borrowed/stolen Obadiah. It means a lot to me that people should go out of their way to give attention to my little musical sojourns.

Anyway, here's what a few people have thought and written:

Hello all...

I am proud to announce that some of my music has been used on a short film by my talented Canadian friend Pascal Payant. "Something In The Way" is a short piece exploring narrative and texture and tells the story of a young woman trying to make sense of a tragic incident.

I'm really pleased with the way it came out and I reckon the music fits quite nicely, even if I do say so myself!

You can see for yourself HERE

Enjoy.

Hello there...

Just a quick word to say "THANKS" to everuone who has bought and showed an interest in "Wires and Knives" and to let you all know that a new Apalusa 3" cd is in the offing sometime soon!

A short time ago I recieved a message from a chap in Germany, asking me if I had any music I would like to release on his small label. As is happened, I did and so within the next couple of months or so " Live From The Dry Valleys" - a single 19-minute guitar piece recorded pretty much live - will be coming out on Waterscape records. Also on their roster are artists such as Peter Wright, Paul Bradley, Tiaga Remains and Seconds in Formaldehyde. I should be recieving copies of my own at some point but, until I find out anything further, details can be found at www.waterscape.de

Ta ta,

Dan

Thanks to everyone who bought Small Environs. It's now sold out which is extremely gratifying. Here are a couple of links to some nice things that people have said about it:

Nice Thing 1

and

Nice Thing 2

It has also been reviewed by that nice man Byron Coley in the August 2007 issue of The Wire magazine which, quite frankly, is beyond belief.

Stay tuned for Number 2...

Well howdy.

A quick word with regards to the first ever Apalusa release. It'll be a 3" cdr called "Small Environs" and is being put out by the wonderfull Low Point label. Musically it will feature 20 minutes or so of ambient composition, divided into three sections, ranging from dark, meandering dirges to light and sparkly twitterings. (Hmm, I've never been too great at describing things). Segments of this are already featured on this here page.

As for a release date, that is still a bit up in the air at the moment. I'm still in the process of sorting the artwork out, but needless to say, I shall keep you informed.

In the meantime...

xx
