Wow.. it’s been another crazy, busy week!....

Since I wrote last I’ve been to Tamworth and back for an intimate little gig – lots of fun, back to Sydney for a busy 2 weeks and then this weekend I drove to Tamworth again for a gig at the West Tamworth League Club and then hopped straight back into the car to Sydney for a gig today! I had a great crowd today, One of the highlights for me was being asked to sing two of my songs, Healing hands of Time and Take me to the edge a second time each.. by different people too! It’s always nice to know people like the songs that are written from the inner most parts of your soul.. Healing Hands of time is probably the most personal song I’ve ever written and so it means a lot that is appreciated and that other people can relate to it too. I also completely sold out of all my new ‘The Keeper’ singles! ....

I had my car serviced in Tamworth while I was there and needed new tyres.. again!! That makes 6 new tyres in just over 6 months!! I couldn’t believe it when the mechanic told me I had done 40,000 kms in that time.. that equates to a lot of hours listening to John Farnham! On that subject, I bought John’s new Essential 3 disc compilation that has just been released a month or two ago and I get stuck on ‘Romeo’s Heart’ every time… if it’s not a country song, I don’t know what is! The acoustic guitar, bass and backing vocals are just exquisite. Produced to perfection in my opinion! Check it out!....

Last week I went to a great show at The Basement, Wes Carr and Ian Moss.. Wow!! Wes Carr completely blew me away! He and his guitar were one entity, just completely entwined and lost in the music.. what a great songwriter!....

I also found out that night that I have my second cut on someone else’s album!! I wrote a song a few years ago called ‘Don’t Ever Let A Chance Go By’ with Sam Hawksley and he’s working on an album for someone right now that is recording the song! Exciting!....

Now… this is very personal but I feel the need to tell you this as it will affect my album release and most probably mean that I won’t be able to release before/at Tamworth Festival like I have previously said and I’m not the person to break my word.....

Last week I found that I need to have surgery in a week and a half, which will completely coincide with the time I had locked in at the studio to finish my album.....

Nothing life threatening so please don’t worry, just extremely inconvenient.....

You can be sure that as soon as I am recovered and able I will be in the studio singing my little (actually I think it’s quite big) heart out and making sure that it has truly been worth the wait for you all. Believe me, no-one wants to move on and get it finished and released more than me!!....

On a lighter note – The Keeper music video is #22 this week on the CMC Countdown! Yay! Slowly but surely it’s moving on up! Thank you to everyone requesting!....

I hope you’ve been really well since I wrote last!....

Last time I wrote I was preparing to go to Tamworth for the Girls Night In Breast Cancer Research Fundraiser.....

It was a great night. Lots of lovely ladies came out to support the event and we had a really fun time. When I was finished my set I got to hang out with my mum and friends that came along which was lovely. After many cocktails we headed out on the town!! There are some photos included below that were taken on the night.....

After another busy week promoting my new single ‘The Keeper’ and working on the release of my album I have been lucky to have had this weekend off!! I haven’t had one of those for a while so it’s been really nice!....

Friday night I hung out with Corky (Dianna) and Melinda Schneider.. we chatted for hours and drank Champagne. I must tell you that this week I was extremely lucky to hear a sneak preview of Dianna’s new album that will be released in January. It will absolutely blow your mind!! I’m not being a biased friend here either, it is incredible and I am soooo excited for the world to hear it.....

Yesterday I had a beautiful day with my Sister Karlee and her boyfriend Scott.. We went to Paddy’s Markets and had a lovely lunch at King Street Wharf at my fav restaurant and then watched a great movie.. There is a photo of us below at Darling Harbour.. Can you spot the differences?? ....

Today I ran to a highway and caught a bus to a train and wished for a ticket to freedom to find me on a plane but.. I ended up back where I started .. in front of my Mac. I spend so much time with my laptop that I named him Astro… why is he a male? I’m not quite sure.. probably because he has an on-off switch.. I don’t think women have those!!....

I’ve been doing a LOT of driving lately and it’s been really good because I’ve had the chance to discover some new music.. A few things of late that have really spoken to my heart are – The Paramore album, Brand New Eyes. My sister Sarah thought I was extremely ‘cool’ for buying it! I really liked it.. there were a few songs that completely blew me away.. they were intricately beautiful.. I know Intricate/Rock is quite an oxymoron but it is true!!....

Also, Jewel’s Country album called Perfectly Clear. Her lyrics are so honest and she is such a unique, skilful singer.. she has a way of making dissonance sound beautiful!....

Anyway… enough from me! Thank you to everyone that continues to request The Keeper on CMC and Radio, I really appreciate it. I got an email from a Country Station a couple of weeks ago saying that in the first week after it was released, it was played on the station 84 times!!! I asked if they had actually played anything else!!....

Just wanted to give you an update on what I’ve been up to!....

I’ve just arrived home after a mini-tour over the long weekend.....

On Friday morning my alarm went off at 6am and by 6.30 I was in the car and listening to John Farnham, headed for Grafton! 8 Hours later I arrived at where I was staying for long enough to freshen up and head to the venue to meet my band, sound check and do the gig!....

The next morning we all got up and drove to Lismore.. Thank goodness it was only an hour and a half away so when we got there we had time to have a nice lunch and afternoon sleep!....

After a lovely Italian dinner, we headed to the venue to start playing! My film clip was on CMC on the big screen right as we started playing! The hotel was full of University students that came to watch the gig which was kinda cool! ....

After late night kebabs (Yuck!) and maybe a little too much red wine, I decided it was probably time to try go to sleep seeing I had to drive 10 hours the next day. I had a few hours sleep and hit the road again for Sydney!! ....

I drove straight to my beautiful sister who had just had surgery a few days before.. she is OK but I was very worried about her.. my sisters are my whole life. As you get older you realise that there are just a few people that you can really trust, that you would die a million times over for and know that they would do the same for you without a single doubt.. that’s what my sisters are to me.....

This weekend I head to Tamworth for a very special function.. It’s a breast cancer charity night called the ‘Girls Night In… Out’. Breast Cancer is something that my family and I have been effected by closely as my Nan had it a few years ago. She was one of the lucky ones and survived so I always take the opportunity to support an event like this in the hope that it might help more and more people and their families be one of the ‘Lucky Ones’ too. For anyone in or around Tamworth or just looking for a reason to jump in the car and escape for the weekend, please come along and support this amazing cause. For $40 you get finger food, 2 Cocktails, the opportunity to dress up and have some fun, to listen to me sing a few tunes and most importantly, you get to walk away knowing that you’ve selflessly given to a cause that just might help someone you love in the future.....

It’s been a great few weeks on the music front.. my show at Lizottes was extremely fun.. I was very unwell with bronchitis but somehow made it through the show! The old voice wasn’t the greatest, my voice was a little lower and huskier than usual! I guess that’s just what you get when your instrument is such a fragile one!! I was very excited the show went well though and it was only a few tickets short of a sell out! Apparently that was one of the best Sunday crowds ever there! After the gig Lizottes asked if I would come back soon and I was very happy about that because it’s one of my favourite venues!....

Sadly, I left Ettalong Beach the next day to head back to the big smoke to keep on promoting The Keeper! I’ve been doing radio interviews early most mornings (very early!!) all through the day and also late at nights and it’s been great to be back in the thick of it all again.. The industry has changed a fair bit since the release of my first single Mighty Mighty Love and I’m learning lots!!....

Last Saturday night I had a gig at the Riverstone RSL.. I had a great time.. my beautiful sister Karlee came out there with me and helped me curl my hair.. I’m not good with the ‘girly’ stuff!! I can’t live without Karl for endless reasons but it sure is amazing to have a sister that is incredible with hair/makeup and all the stuff I probably could have learnt about instead of climbing trees, playing my guitar and collecting stamps!! (Not all at once!!)....

I’m really lucky that I get to play with lots of amazingly talented musicians all the time but Saturday night Chris Collins played in my band..which was very exciting!  He’s an awesome guitar player.. he mainly does his own stuff at the moment but has been Shannon Noll’s guitarist for a few years......

Anyway… I’ve had it! I’m off to bed.. early I know but I guess I’m just getting old!!....

Right this second I’m sitting out on the balcony of the Penthouse that I’m staying in at Ettalong Beach, right on the water with my family and my best friend James and his family. We’ve been best friends since Kindergarten! It’s so beautiful here!....

Tuesday morning early, Troy, the hair and makeup artist came to the apartment I was staying in and worked his magic on me and we headed over to Centennial Park where the clip was shot......

Everyone was over there already waiting and we got straight into it.. It was sooo much fun. Freezing though!! I had a blanket wrapped around me for most of the shooting!!....

My ‘Keeper’ in the clip was played by a very talented Australian actor, Damon Gameau - you might have seen Damon on Underbelly just of late. ....
