November 19, 2008 - Wednesday
On the 18th of November, an action against repression of anti-fascists will take place at Metro Station "Novokucnetskaya" in Moscow. Action will begin 16:00, and will demand freedom for anti-fascist prisoner Aleksey Olesinov. Aleksey is imprisoned for more than 10 days already, and has been held incommunicado by authorities, his lawyer Stanislav Markelov has still not been allowed to meet with him. Health condition and conditions in which he is kept are not known to his relatives and friends. Friends of Olesinov are certain, that he is persecuted due to participation to anti-fascist activities.

Aleksei Olesinov was arrested 6th of November, and accused of "hooliganism", according to statue 213,
second part of Russian criminal codex. Although he has never before faced
criminal charges, he was remanded. Police motivated the decision to remand him
with the fact that Olesinov is an anti-fascist activist.

Formal pretext for arrest is an insignificant fight which took place
30th of August between visitors of one of the Moscow clubs and security
of the club. Nobody was wounded during the fight, Olesinov was arrested
the same night close to the club, but eventually police who arrested him
did not pressed even misdemeanor charges against him.

For unclear reason case of Olesinov is united with two felony
investigations. Another of them is the murder case of anti-fascist
activist Fyodor Filatov. It is possible, that police attempts to hide
fact that investigation is doing nowhere by arresting one of the
activists of the anti-fascist movement.

Case of Olesinov is under personal control of first vice-minister of
internal affairs M.I.Suhodolskiy. It is rather unlikely, than an average
case of "hooliganism" is under a personal control of first vice-minister
of internal affairs.

Currently Olesinov is kept in remand prison of "Butyrka", but he was in
a police prison for 6 days, which is a reason to believe that police
tortured him there in order to gain information on workings of
anti-fascist movement.

Participators of the anti-fascist movement demand to stop violations of
legal rights of Aleksey Olesinova, to give him an access to lawyer, and
also to stop using murder of Fyodor Filatov to purposes which have
nothing to do whatsoever with the murder investigation.

Donations are very much needed for Olesinov's defence campaign.

October 11, 2008 - Saturday
Oficial info :

In the morning on October, 10th, 2008, Filatov «Fedjay» Feodor Vasilevich has died in hospital from plural knife wounds. He was only 27 years old.

In 7:30 a.m. he came out from entrance of the house. He was attacked by four unknown persons, armed with knives. There is no doubt that these people planned this attack. As a result, having received numerous knives's injuries, Feodor Filatov has been taken to hospital on the ambulance. Feodor has died in hospital, without coming to his senses.

We, friends and comrades, deeply grieve over his untimely death. We remember Fedjay as the staunch friend and the fine person who could not pass by the stranger's misfortune or leave a comrade in a trouble. It was one of those people who stood at basis of Moscow Trojan Skinheads, community of apolitical antiracist skinheads from Moscow and Moscow Region. He made for development of Russian antiracist skinhead scene so much as nobody else. There is no doubt, that he was murdered for his believes.

Memory of him will eternally live in our hearts. Rest in peace, the brother.

Never forget! Never forgive!

Moscow antifa lawyer bill fundraiser

In beginning of July there was a fight with knives between Nazi skinheads
and audience of a ska-concert.
Three Nazi skinheads landed to hospital. X was arrested and tortured by
police, although he did not stabbed
any of the Nazis (not that support of ABC Moscow is conditional to someone
being "not guilty"). The next day
X was released, but as we do not know how things will proceed, X needs a
lawyer and needs help with covering his legal bill.

Antifascist in prison

In November 2007 Andrei was given a 3 year prison sentence for
participation to a fight, which took place in June of the same year. He
was fighting with a Nazi, and wounded him with a screwdriver which Nazi
dropped during a fight.
(A sharpened screwdriver is a weapon of choice of many Russian Nazis –
against good opponent it is not as good as a knife, but it is better for
finishing a hapless victim as it punctures tissue more deep). Russian
mainstream media used the case in order to discredit anti-fascist
movement. Journalists supported claim of the Nazi that he was picked up as
a random victim, and was not a Nazi but non-political goth, as he claimed
in the court:

ANTIFA news from Poland

Repressions against Anti-fascists in Bialystok

Last year there was a period of serious increase in activity of local neonazis. From attacks on "unPolish" looking people, through to the desecration of a Jewish cemetery, monuments and local buildings were covered with nazi slogans and these sort of events became daily bread in Bialystok. Local Anti-fascists didn't leave this situation without reaction and decided to take matters into their own hands. Nazi slogans were painted over, thousands of Antifa stickers covered the city and nazi bandits themselves became the target of repeated attacks. News about Antifa started spreading fast. This didn't make the "guardians of law and order" very happy.

Police began a campaign directed at local Antifa members-stop and search, detentions, the confiscating of legal self defence weapons and trying to fine people for their possession!  There were attempts of psychological warfare (writing letters to parents of people etc.) and other sort of tactics aimed at intimidating Anti-fascists and showing them who rules the city. In March a few people got their houses raided, their computers and mobile phones were confiscated and they were presented with absurd charges, which were later overthrown. On the 13th of April 10 people were arrested on charges of assaulting two nazi skinheads. Earlier that day one Antifa activist had been stabbed 5 times by nazi scum.  During the arrests cops pretended not to notice a group of Nazis charging Antifa with drawn knives. All of the arrested Antifa activists were held over night and then released, but they have to pay about 450 pounds each of  bail money and report to the police station once a week.

All this clearly shows what many Antifas have known for years- that "guardians of law and order" stand on the opposite side of the barricade and we can expect nothing good from them. At the same time during interrogations a few people from Antifa had been offered deals if there was co-operation and cops tried to sell stories about how they "also don't like Nazis" etc. Of course those offers were ignored- after all our main slogan is "against state, police and Nazis". Far right and guardian dogs eventually always end up on the same side- more and more facts show  that some Nazis give information to police and on this basis a few people have been arrested.

Whatever happens, our struggle continues. This is not the first time the forces of repression have tried to suffocate Anti-fascists resistance in Bialystok. They didn't manage before, they will not manage now. Our ranks are growing all the time with people that have had enough of Nazi bandits and enough of waiting for somebody else to solve the problem for them. In the meantime legal help for activists facing charges is being organized.

Antifa-  the struggle continues!

Wroclaw 12/04- fascists try to march but they fail

On the 12th of April two Polish nationalist organizations NOP (National Rebirth of Poland) and ONR (National-Radical Camp) held a march in the city of Wroclaw (South Poland). First they tried to legalize it under the pretext of "commemoration of nationalists killed by Communists and Nazi regimes" (how funny taking into account that lots of nazi skinheads were expected to turn up as well) but when they got refused they finally got it legalized, two days before the march, by claiming the "commemoration of Katyn victims" (Katyn was a prison camp in Russia, where thousands of Polish P.O.W.s  and policemen were executed by Soviets in 1940).

Antifa wasn't left with much time to mobilise. In the meantime a group called Young Socialists called for a legal counter demonstration. During the day about 200 fascists and some Nazis turned up. The Anti-fascist counter-demonstration was small, about 30-40 people strong. There were also a few dozen militant anti-fascists from all over country hanging out in the area. A few times fascists were attacked, each time most of them legging it, unwilling to confront Antifa. One was hospitalised after being beaten unconscious by Antifas just moments before a fascist group was ready to launch an attack on more liberal anti-fascists. Many more had been injured (see pictures). On the side of Antifa there was only one person slightly injured. Police decided to stop the fascist march before it really started, they cordoned them off and then detained those that refused to move. Antifa scouts overheard some fash pleading to police to detain them because they were afraid to meet anti-fascists again. So much for brave white warriors…At the end almost all of them had been detained, fined for different minor offences and released in the evening.  There were some Antifa arrests and 5 people got charged with assault and had to pay between 250 and 800 euros of bail money and have to report to the police station once a week. The organizers of the legal counter - demonstration didn't bother with the arrested people and didn't organize any legal help at all, disconnecting themselves from militant Anti-fascists.

Following a nationalist internet forum Antifascists had been amused to read lots of fearful comments instead of the usual "antifa ha ha ha." The best comment posted was of one nationalist saying "My doctor told me that my nose will never be the same again". The liberal media were  all in shock of what happened, because it was anti-fascists openly attacking right wingers, not fitting into the criteria of helpless victims or righteous self-defence. Antifa has shown once again what militant resistance should look like and how successful it can be!

At the moment there is money being organized for legal help and to cover bail costs but if you can help please do. The bank details are below:

Antifascist in Moscow stabbed by Nazis. Needs Your help!!!

(please repost this anywhere you can! It's extremely important - we still can safe his life)

On February 14th an antifascist activist was heavily wounded in Moscow by nazi scum. Now he is in hospital in a critical state and needs money for serious treatment.

This St Valentine's day sexual minorities of Moscow were planning to have a little procession on one of the central squares of the city. But before the event it was heard that nazi boneheads were planning to ambush the parade. Representatives of sexual minorities rights comunity called for help from Moscow antifascists.

On the day of the event a big mob of nazis indeed showed up at the place of the procession. But instead of gays and lesbians a crowd of about 50 antifascist skinheads and punks appeared at the square and shooed the nazis away. After this the parade commenced, covered by antifascist activists.

But the Nazis managed to regroup and attacked one of the antifascist skinhead, who was cut off from the main force. The guy was beat up and stabbed heavily and ended up in the intensive care unit in hospital.

His life is still in extreme danger now. Doctors say that even at the best he could stay in hospital for several months.

February 1, 2008 - Friday
On the 12th of January, Antifa organized a demonstration in Bialystok, north-east of Poland. Reason for action was the recent activity of nazi scum (vandalizing Jewish monuments and graveyards etc.) which resulted in much media attention given to them (as well as quite few arrests). As more and more people joined the antifascist struggle in Bialystok withing last few months, it was also decided that a demonstration will be a good show of strength.
Around 150 people came to the demo, a vast majority of them masked up and dressed in black. There were banners saying "antifa means attack", "radical anti-fascist action" and "gegen nazis". There were speeches and hundreds of leaflets given to people walking past. Reactions were different ranging from sympathetic to negative (as usual some people had problems with masked up faces). Before the demonstration about dozen nazis had been observed nearby and a quick attack by antifascists scattered them in a few seconds, leaving some of them bleeding on the ground. Police seemed to be completely surprised and it took them a bit of time to regain control. The demonstration passed through the city followed by some more nazis, protected in turn by riot police. After the demo a few more nazis had been attacked (one of them was spotted trying to hide between hanging clothes in a shop!), including the occupants of car, that been in turn deprived of windows and lights.
Next day the media were full of reports talking about the demonstration, in general showing anti-fascist as some sort of scary-looking bunch that decide to take matters in their own hands since the police are not doing anything. Some smart arse professor even said that people with masked up faces are a brand of terrorist. In general the picture given was of hardcore hooligans, not afraid to use violence in the fight against nazis which in general suits Bialystok's antifascists just fine.
Actions like that will be repeated every few months. In the meantime Antifa is clearly gaining an upper hand on the streets of Bialystok, with more people joining the struggle and nazi scumbags losing fight after fight and being pushed out of public spaces. They admitted defeat on their internet forum, which is almost a miracle, since they usually only write about their successes and never admit losing.

Jan Kucera - Another victim of neo-nazis

About one thousand people gathered on 19 January, 2008 in Pilsen, Czech Republic, to commemorate the victims of nazi terror: 66 years ago, Jews from Pilsen were deported to concentration camps, but nobody knew that another victim of current neo-nazi violence is at the very same time fighting for his life in a hospital.

On 18 January in Pribram, a town 50 km south-west of Prague, 20-year-old neo-nazi Jiri Fous stabbed 18-year-old Jan Kucera in the groin and back about an hour to midnight. Before this attack, young local neo-nazis were provoking with nazi salutes and offending a group of young punks and antifascist skinheads, to which Jan belonged. Jan's friends were trying to stop the bleeding from his femoral artery and called for an ambulance. Neither the paramedics nor Jan's friends realized that Jan had also been stabbed in the back before it was too late. Jan lost massive amounts of blood and fell unconscious. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but even though he was in the hands of professional doctors, he died on Sunday morning.

Jan Kucera was an antifascist skinhead from Pribram, and he was never afraid to express his opinions. In his Internet profile, he wrote: "I'm a normal boy and I consider myself a SHARP skinhead. I don't care who my friends are - I don't judge people because of their musical taste, their clothes or the colour of their skin. I judge people by what they do. Anybody can write to me. I hate nazis, the bourgeoisie, communists and similar scum! Antifascista Oi!"

He stood by his opinions until the very end. He will stay forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all people with an antifascist attitude. Honour to his memory.
December 8, 2007 - Saturday
On 30th of November in Lodz there was a gig of Junkers, Hororshow and other bands. From the very beginning it could be noticed that there are lots of dodgy types in the venue and on the walls there were lots of stickers with swastikas. After some time it became clear that there is considerable group of nazi skinheads inside. They started behaving in more and more provocative way, at some point chanting "Auschwitz Birkenau!" to which group of antifascist skinheads started chanting "anti nazi skinheads" and " 1,2 ANTIFA! " after which they attacked nazi scum. Fight lasted few minutes, after which lots of nazis were laying in pools of their own blood, few of them unconscious and some others were trying to run away outisde. Some were forced by antifascist skinheads to leave on their knees. Lots of cops and security guards came outisde the venue but luckily nobody had been arrested. One punk and unknown number of nazis ended up in hospital after being hit in thr head with heavy beer glass by some nazi girl (that got trashed just after it). This event is already widely commented on all "apolitical" oi/skinhead forums and even nazi skinheads admitted on their forum to defeat, something which is a miracle on its own.
One more victory for antifa!
November 30, 2007 - Friday
On 11th of November there is Independence Day in Poland which of course is an excellent occasion for all sorts of fascist/nazi scumbags to show themselves and try to spread their shit.
In Warsaw about 200 low-life took part in demonstration organized by ONR (National Radical Offensive). They marched to the monumet of Dmowski (far right bastard that died long time ago). At the monument they found boxes filled with shit and placards saying "nationalism stinks" and "Poland for everybody!". On their way back quite a few unlucky "real patriots" met Antifa teams and got proper beating. Groups of nazis from Siedlce were also bombed with eggs and bags filled with shit by group of young anarchists.

In Bialystok 11th of November coincided with weekly Food Not bombs action so Antifa was on full alert. Around 30 nazis gathered on official celebrations but despite noticing group of anarchists gathering close to them didn't dare to confront them. Around 30 antifascists gathered to provide security for FNB action, i na meantime nazis dispersed... so much for their loud promises to "trash all leftist scum" this day. Few of them were absolutely humiliated, spat on etc. and only presence of few police vans saved them from beating. Later on two dozen antifas went though knows nazi meeting places and neighbourhood but there were nowhere to be seen.
Fucking cowards!

5th of November in Bialystok there was a gig of streetpunk band The Analogs. Antifa mustered their forces and about 30 militant anti-fascists went to listen to good music and have fun, at the same time remaining vigilant about presence of nazis in the area. During the concert anti-fascists spotted few local football supporters known to be hanging around with nazis, but those were saved by security guards fro ma sure beating. In the middle of concert about 30 people strong group of nazi scum attacked 4 (!) antifascists outiside the venue. Before people realised whats going on and went out to help, 4 antifas stood their ground and defended themselves using pepper sprays. Nazis despite of massive numerical advantage didnt manage to do anything and when they noticed people coming out of the gig, they run away (not before few of them getting good hits though). Also 2 apolitical skinheads known for their not-very-well hidden racist ideas got trashed after a gig. After a concert there was lot of chasing and cat-and-mouse games with nazi scum who were still unwilling to confront any groups of punks or antifascists bigger than 5 people.

November

(for a version with photos, check http://avtonom.org/index.php?nid=1316)

first 9th of November, day of Crystal Night and international day to combat
racism and xenophobia, 11th of November was declared a global Food Not Bombs
action day to commemorate Timur Kacharava, 13th of November was second
anniversary of death of Timur. Different cities preferred different days for

banners "Nazism kills" and "Fascism won't trespass" were
raised. Speeches were made on purpose of demonstrations
9th and 10th of November, murdered Russian anti-fascists
were commemorated. Some Nazi scouts were spotted, but
when they got photographed they decided to move further.

This was first ever anti-fascist event in Bryansk, which

Irkutsk

Anarchists and anti-fascists of Irkutsk made graffiti in
Irkutsk in night before 9th of November. Commemorations

places where Nazis live and hang around and in the center
of the city. 10th of November a Food Not Bombs was
organized to commemorate Timur Kacharava.

13th of November in Irkutsk, anti-fascist dropped a

and another with black on red. Commuters could see
banners for more than two days, as no-one was interested
to remove them.

Moscow

In Moscow there was also a Food Not Bombs action to
commemorate Timur Kacharava 11th of November. There was a
number of parallel actions - at metro Kropotkinskaya, at

at zero kilometer. Up to 70 people - anarchists, Food Not
Bomb activists, punks and hardcore kids participated.
Police made some minor attempts to harass action, but
eventually everything went without problems.

On their way back from action, activists made a
spontaneous action to pray huge pro-Putin election
advertisement at Okhotniy Ryad - this picture got immense
popularity in Russian blogosphere at
http://drugoi.livejournal.com/2388214.html, hilarious
thing is that perhaps one third of the commentes took
the praying seriously!

Novosibirsk

13th of November anti-fascists of Novosibirsk gathered to
eternal fire to commemorate Timur Kacharava. Leaflets and
stickers were distributed. Novosibirsk had also joined
global Food Not Bombs action day two days before.

St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg more than 200 people gathered at the
entrance of bookstore "Bukvoyed", where Timur was
murdered exactly two years before. Photos and different
writings were left to the site. Leaflets commemorating
those killed by neo-Nazis were distributed to passers by.
No speeches and no calls were made - people came to
commemorate their perished comrade, and actions speak
louder than any words. There was also a Food Not Bomb
organized in St. Petersburg during global action day 11th
of November.
