Hey everyone Les Paul the great innovator of the guitar has passed. Just a shout out to a man who was not only a great player,( Holding court @ a house gig until he died in NYC) but an amazing inventor not only of the Les Paul guitar but many other music things we take for granted today ie: multi track recording. Google Les and find out more, you'll be amazed! Rest in Peace brother. Clayton.

Current mood: distraught
What a terrible tragedy has occurred in Camrose Alberta this evening. My stomach is just turning at the thought of all the people out there hurting tonight. I wish I was there, we were playing a show with the Wilkensons tonight in Muirkirk ONT when we heard the news. The stage was blown over in a wind storm and buried a bunch of people. I have been playing the Big Valley Jamboree for 10 years and have made many lifelong friends out there. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people injured and hurting tonight. God Bless and keep you. Clayton.

Well is started out like any day, like any other show. Then we decided to go out adventuring with the Sault Ste. Marie Rotary Club. They treated us like kings went boating then shooting at the gun range. I thought I would be a tough guy seeing as I was the most experienced shooter in the band and have a crack at the biggest gun of the lot. I even compensated for the scope but not for the recoil! At least not enough! Oh well what's a little blood between friends! There was no permanent damage except my pride, and now I really can say I have the Scars to Prove it! See the pics from the show to view the damage done! haha!

Are You A Road Hammer?
By Donna Hopper SooToday.com Sunday, July 19, 2009
Year after year, the Sault's annual RotaryFest continues to offer a variety of family events and entertainment geared to please any taste.
The festival's parade has always been one of the biggest draws, and this year was no exception.
However, last night Rotary hosted Canada's own Road Hammers during a free concert in Clergue Park.
SooToday.com was more than impressed with the sea of country music fans that braved the unseasonably chilly temperatures to take in the show.
It's doubtful the massive turnout would have fit into the Essar Centre.
The fact that the event was free to attend likely had a lot to do with the crowd size.
But judging by the audience's reaction to the Road Hammers' performance, the band's slick southern rock/country sound was also a deciding factor.
Like a rolling semi truck, the band ripped through more than 90 minutes of boot-stompin' awesomeness that included Homegrown, I've Got the Scars to Prove It, I'm a Road Hammer, Cowboy 'Til I Die and the band's stellar remake of Jerry Reed's East Bound and Down.
Hands down, this performance was the highlight of the entire festival...
Check out the photo gallery for a look at some of the excitement on stage!
