Current mood:Generous!!
I hope everyone had a great July 4th. I spent the Holiday drinking fresh
peach daquaris and skinny-dipping!! I think there was a correlation with those
two activities! ;-)
A funny thing happened when I stopped giving away my songs...Less
people bought the songs at itunes. The more I give away my music, the more
people by my songs online! Wow! That is a concept to wrap your head
around. So...the free downloads are back at my website and my blog.
You
can help by sharing the songs with your friends on facebook, your email list, your
myspace buddies...anyone you think would like my tunes...which, of course is everyone!!
:-)
Another
way is to share my song for free is to click "Share" next to my photo in the player below. Either
way, I'm sure your friends will appreciate FREE MUSIC!
What are
your plans for the summer. I would love to know!
Phil Dutra

Current mood:Gratitudy!
Category: Life
So, here I am sitting at my desk selling Fleshlights, the day before Thanksgiving. It's time to get all "gratitudy". I am of the belief that this is probably one of the most important things to do; not just on the 4th Thursday of November but every day of your life. It keeps things in perspective. Yeah, the economy sucks but, if you live in the United States or almost anywhere in the "Western" world, you are still better off than most of the world's population.
Reflecting on all the things you have to be grateful for helps us from becoming whiny ass titty babies (WATBs). Seriously, quit your bitching and take a moment to really look at your life. Force yourself to come up with things that you are grateful for:
That last really great meal you ate
The smile you put on that stranger's face just because you said "hello"
The line of traffic lights that went green all together in your favor.
Silly little things that help you change the way you see your life. Focusing in on what may seem trivial really helps retrain your brain to look for the things to be grateful for because, lord knows it is easy to get caught in the downward spiral of focusing on the dissapointments we encounter. Do this every day and transform your perception and your outlook on what is a wonderful existence.
So here is my list. It is far from complete and it changes daily.
I'm grateful for:
-The delicious Chorizo breakfast taco one of my coworkers brought in to share with everyone.
-The laugh I had when my dog Voji tried to hump my arm when I got home yesterday because he was so excited to see me.
-The fact that I enjoy my job selling sex toys!
-My upcoming trip to Portugal this Summer to see relatives I have not seen in over 25 years.
-The song idea I just came up with.
-Chocolate...always chocolate.
-My friends
-My Husband Steve and his new hot tattoo.
-Everyone who has ever listened to my music and told someone about it.
-Everyone I have ever had the pleasure to perform with or perform for.
-The woman who let me merge into her lane on the way to work when I almost missed my exit.
OK, your turn. What are the 5 things you can think of, right now that you are grateful for. I will be grateful to read them...
Now get to typing!!!

Current mood: hungry
Category: Food and Restaurants
Last night Steve and I went to Mangu Cafe with our friends Phil (our real estate agent) and His partner Jim. If you haven't been to Mangu, I strongly suggest you try it. They have great Carribean food! It's a little bit out of the way for you city dwellers, on Route 1825 just behind the Tinslet Town Movie theater, but it is definitely worth the trip. I had the Mahi Mahi with a mango salsa, coconut rice, black beans and fried plantains. All the dishes I have tried there have all be both strange and wonderful. The seasonings are unfamiliar and delicious! Speaking of my friend Phil, he is a great Real Estate Agent. If you are looking to buy or sell anywhere in the Austin market, you should check him out. He is a good guy who knows the area inside and out. http://www.gayrealtynetwork.com/usa/texas/texas-gay-real-estate-agents/deacy-phil-austin.html
