As we edge towards the end of the decade we thought we would go back in time and welcome Deepgroove back to the show.

The last two years have seen global invasion heralded by Deepgroove’s Lee Pattison and Grayson Shipley fighting off stiff competition from the likes of Serge Santiago, Demi, Sinden, The Streetlife Djs and Jamie Jones to win DJ Magazine’s coveted “Best British Breakthrough DJ” award. Consistent global touring whilst having a strong presence in all the major UK clubs saw them smashing over 90 gigs annually to a rapidly growing fanbase. 2008 was defined by a chance meeting in their hometown of Bristol with techno legend Jamie Anderson which has sparked a new studio partnership that has gone on to release with some of the world’s most influential underground techno label.
The pair take their 4 Decks:Efx show on a tour of global clubs and festivals, taking in We Love…@Space, Ibiza, Glastonbury, Gatcrasher Summer SoundSystem, Zouk, Singapore, Ministry of Sound, London, Trailer Trash, Wet Yourself, Privilege, Ibiza, Eden, Ibiza, Korea, Snowbombing, Canada, Chicago, Warsaw, Solar Festival, Holland, Bloom Festival, Mulletover, Bugged Out!, Excentric…
2009 saw a change of agency to world renowned International Talent Booking (ITB), in support of the duo’s growing DJ bookings and the new Deepgroove & Jamie Anderson LIVE show. With releases on Cocoon, Rekids, Klang Elektronik and a critically acclaimed album on Hearthouse 2009 was arguably the biggest year to date.

Another week and another HUGE Clubbed Up Podcast. This week we welcome a man who has been responsible for some of the biggest tracks of 2009 as well as destroying dance floors across the globe, the best thing to come out of Holland since clogs.............Joris Voorn!

As a deejay Joris has been around for a while, spinning since 1997 in different clubs nationwide. Besides doing his ‘high energy’ live sets Joris loves dj’ing as well, playing a wide range of techno and house with his own remark. Never boring and always innovating because that’s his nature.
His first two productions on the Dutch label “Keynote” named “Muted Trax pt.1 and pt.2” were a success and got extremely good critics nationally and more important internationally.
End 2003 ‘Lost memories Pt.1’ was released on Technasia’s SINO label, and will be followed up by ‘Lost memories Pt.2’ may 2004 containing two killer tracks already been played by many.. [Clarke, Garnier, Deetron, Technasia… check the review in the next issue of Mixmag Magazine].
Next to the first two releases of our “Sound Architecture Records” label there will be new material released on Transmat, Keynote and his debut album on SINO [end of summer].
Summer 2005 and Joris' new outlet Reen saw the light of day. Then in 2006 Joris released MPX309, A crossover techno workout that appealed to almost every dj around the world. The biggest milestone in the Clubbed Up Podcast series and with it we bring the one of the most influential house dj & producers the one the only DJ SNEAK!

In 1983, Carlos Sosa aka DJ Sneak, moved to the city of Chicago from the island of Puerto Rico, where his early musical experiences and influences were rooted in salsa, meringue and Latin orchestras. Chicago, like Puerto Rico, is a city rich with musical styles and sounds. In Chicago Sneak found inspiration in underground house music, Warehouse parties and "old school" mix tapes from the early pioneers _ Farley Jackmaster Funk, Ralphi Rosario, Steve Hurley and local radio station shows played on WBMX. Sneak earned his nickname rocking graffiti-tags and began working at retail stores as an airbrush artist, which kept him out of trouble and allowed him to make important local industry contacts. Development as a DJ came while working regular mobile DJ jobs and local nightclubs. But, in an already saturated DJ pool, Sneak focused on his music production and started his independent label - Defiant Records.
In 1992, using the fundamental studio pieces, Sneak began recording tracks with an unusual new style. In 1994, while still working at local store Gramophone Records, Sneak met Cajmere (Green Velvet) owner of Cajual and Relief Records. Cajmere released three of Sneak's catalyst tracks, which helped to bring Sneak international recognition, and with it, a global DJing career.
In 1995, Sneak's new sound revolutionized house music with inspirational sounds and rhythms never heard. The disco filtered house grooves became Sneak's signature sound. Innovator to many, Sneak's love for music inspired others like Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx, Armand Van Helden.
In 1996, DJ Sneak's 'You Can't Hide from your Bud', on Derrick Carter's Classic Recordings, ironically became an instant classic itself; a blueprint for funky, filtered disco-influenced house - Sneak Style - redefining Chicago's underground music. From 1996 to present day, DJ Sneak has perfected his remix skills, seizing opportunities to work with world-class talent and fine-tune his sound. His highly anticipated remixes take dance floors around the world to levels of climactic frenzy with his trademark booty-shakin, bass-heavy beats and rhythms.
After years of development, DJ Sneak is a familiar name across the world's club circuit playing the very best venues and events. A frequent visitor to Ibiza - the island of spiritual parties and Mecca of dance music culture, Sneak has participated in several events with the best UK production companies - Ministry of Sound, Cream, Manumission, and Miss Moneypenny's to mention a few.
A favorite at United Kingdom's summer festivals (Homelands, Creamfields, T in the Park), Sneak shows no mercy on the sound systems and is a guaranteed crowd pleaser. Recognized as the disco filter innovator, his productions and musical style has maintained his status as one of the Top 100 DJs in the world for 5 consecutive years. Dynamic in style - from furious banging Chicago tracks and Latin tribal beats, to disco filtered reworks of retro classics and melodic rhythms to suit your soul.
In fall 2001 Sneak launched a new record label Magnetic Recordings, where he has been releasing new music, with compilations to come, along with the introduction of new musical talents. He continues to contribute to the evolution and definitive sound that is Chicago House Music.

This weeks show we dig into the dark realms of the techno spectrum as we welcome Perc to the Clubbed Up podcasts.

Cambridge born and London based 27 year old, Ali Wells, aka Perc, could be accused of being a musical obsessive, with a career that takes in spells in rock and indie bands, various dj-ing residencies, soundtrack work and his final destination as a producer of some of the most innovative yet accessible dance music currently in circulation. After completing 5 years of music business and music production training in Manchester and Newcastle (UK), Alistair spent a brief time at the now legendary Platipus Records cutting his teeth. The next stop was to UK heavyweights, Prime Distribution, where he quickly rose to label manager for their 6 in-house labels including the globally recognised techno of Primate and Primevil labels and the progressive/tribal Premier Sounds imprint. Ali’s range of supporters is more diverse than many other producers with his releases getting glowing reactions from Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold, Anthony Pappa, Dave Seaman, King Unique, X-press 2, Moshic, Chris Fortier, Hybrid, John ‘00’ Fleming, DJ Chus, Marco V, Tom Stephan, Bill Hamel, Max Graham, Saeed & Palash amongst others. The list of labels he has graced continues to grow and now includes Choo-Choo, BXR, Premier Sounds, 19Box Japan, Limbo, Midset and Source Of Gravity.
At the beginning of 2003 Ali produced a run of remixes that reflected his growing profile with him earning the honour of remixing one of the tracks from the long-awaited Mara album on Choo-Choo and receiving remix requests from as far away as 19Box Records in Japan.

This week we welcome the queen of the Uk House & Techno scene, with a mix of bustin house grooves Smokin Jo!

Smokin Jo:

Jo’s story began in 1990 when after years of attending many of the early raves and illegal parties she noticed a distinct lack of female DJs. As a massive fan of this exciting new music that was sweeping the nation, Jo decided to buy some decks and started mixing. While working in the Gaultier shop in London’s Soho, Jo made her first mix tapes and gave them to friends and customers to gauge their response. The reactions were better than expected and her first gigs quickly followed at fashion after-show parties. In 1991 Jo was given a chance to play at London’s legendary after-hours party Trade at Turnmills. More recently Jo has played in pretty much every corner of the globe and in every major nightclub you could care to mention: Womb in Tokyo, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Made / Warung in Brazil, Cavo Paradiso in Mykonos, Crobar in New York, Space in Miami & Ibiza, Vinyl in New York, Zouk in Singapore, Fabric in London and Cocoon in Frankfurt are just some of the venues she has played in recent years.
On the production front Jo has been making serious waves through her moniker TRNSSTR (Transistor) alongside production partner Pete Gleadall.

Your residents Danny Roberts & James Burn will also be taking control of 45 minutes worth of all things house and techno orientated completing a very memorable Clubbed Up podcast.

Chris is the owner of flux recordings and resident at Atomic Jam. A true global hopping international dj force who is now establishing himself as a producer in his own right. Chris was raised between England and Ibiza. Like many others his introduction into dance music was through the uk rave scene. From rave, techno soon took over.

This is our second week of our Atomic Jam warm up shows leading up to there 14th birthday party at The Q Club Birmingahm. This week we welcome another shining star from the Clr stable...........Brian Sanhaji!

Brian Sanhaji belongs to one of the motivated new generation of talented track-tinkerer. He belongs to the post-technoid artists, who rescues with straight and hard sound of the ballast of the 90s. His direct and uncompromising producing lets no questions unanswered. Funnily enough the 1978 born found his way to techno music trough Hiphop and Prodigy. Fascinating by working in the studio and electrify beats he began to intensify his interests in computer and sampler with the age of 17. Some times later he tinkers with the own powerful loops and began to mix the possibilities with his own introductions. The rhythmical Tracks reveal his flair for the new upcoming technosound. Influenced by the Technoszene of Frankfurt he met the owner of the underground label Triebtter. They get to know some common ground which were realised in Brians`s first release Technoschlitten e.p.' in 2000. That was a big success for him and Technoschlitten had been pressed again. Motivated by that sucessful work he released the 'Electronic Noise e.p.' It is a stilistic continuation of his personal developed sound. In 2001 he founded the Label Enable Recordings to refine his innovative sound. There Brian publishs his first releases with the name Relic. But a trance producer from Holland has the same name, so he decided to produce with his own name Brian Sanhaji.

Citizen Art is a remix project of Brian and Cess. They published for example the single Fused impressions at Enable Recordings.

Brian Sanhaji is not only a talented producer. He is also an excellent Live-Act, who understands to connect his music with the people on the dancefloor. Since 2001 he is in Clubs to present his music. The distinguishing characteristic is the innovative techno sound.

Once again your hosts Danny Roberts & James Burn will be taking control of the first 45 minutes with there choice picks of what's hot in there record boxes right now.

This is the first part of our Atomic Jam warm up show's. First up we welcome Detroit techno legend, a man that needs little introduction.......Robert Hood!

Robert Hood makes minimal detroit techno with the emphasis on soul and experimentation over flash and popularity. Founding Member of the legendary group underground resistance as a 'minister of information' with 'mad' Mike Banks & Jeff Mills, his seminal work on Jeff Mill's Axis and his very own M-Plant Mprint paved the way for a wave of stripped-down dancefloor minimalism that directed much of techno's path throughout the late 90's. As Birmingham's Surgeon once remarked, 'when Hood released his pivotal 'Minimal Nation' EP In 1993, it was like a bomb went off.'

Infusing elements of acid and industrial into a potent blend of Chicago house and Detroit techno, UR's aesthetic project and militant business philosophy were (and remain) singular commitments in underground techno. Hood left Detroit (and UR) with Jeff Mills in 1992, setting up shop in New York and recording a series of 12-inch EPs with Mills. Through the mid-'90s, Hood has focused on his solo work, setting up M-Plant in 1994 and releasing singles such as "Internal Empire," "Music Data," and "Moveable Parts." Although his desire to remain underground has been replaced by an urge to reach a wider audience, Hood remains fiercely critical of artistic and economic movements destructive to inner-city communities and has combined his musical enterprises with outreach and social activist ends. In 1994, Berlin's techno-centric Tresor label released his debut full-length, Internal Empire, and Cheap released Nighttime World the following year. During the rest of the decade, Hood focused on DJ dates as well as a string of singles for M-Plant. Finally, in 2000, the second volume in the Nighttime World series appeared on M-Plant. [See Also: The Vision] Sean Cooper, All Music Guide

Most recently he embarked on a new project with music man records (Belgium) titled “Hoodmusic”, bringing his unique style of minimal techno back to the forefront of what is going on in the music scenes today. These are a series of singles leading upto an album.

Warming up proceedings will be your residents Danny Roberts & James Burn, who will no doubt be beefing things up for Mr Hood's relentless mix.

The long awaited arrival of the all new Clubbed Up Recordings is finally over. The 10 year old radio show is currently having the best year in its creation, attracting thousands of downloads each week and the biggest names in the house and techno fields they cater for. The launch of Clubbed Up Recordings means the shows presenters, Danny Roberts & James Burn can continue to push the music they preach using the stable as a platform for their own productions as well as tasty material from around the UK and beyond!

The A side to this EP brings out the carnival spirit within a solid tribal techno roller. Clubbed Up Radio's long standing resident presenter, Danny Roberts combines his thoughts and imagination with the excellent producing skills of James Garside to fuel a peak time monster using trumpets, horns, whistles, claxons, bongos and funked fueled bass all to blistering results.

Celebrating the completion of his first year on Clubbed Up Radio, James Burn provides a tough but tribal affair on the B side, launching his debut track in the producing realms. This collaboration with Pavello, someone who hasnt been shy from the producing scene for a good proportion of time, grooves through some tightly layered percussion and catchy vocal stabs is a proven hit in the clubs where it has been graced and will no doubt do the same on a much wider scale upon release.
