Yes, Knotty ones, the season of jingle-jangle, tummy-stretching family dinners, tinny holiday music and toys, toys, TOYS  is almost upon us (and it’s not even Thanksgiving for you Yankees yet!). Our ubber-popular Knotty Gift Combos are full of super dreadlock-care items for that special someone who might appreciate a little pampering just for their mane (and bonus for you, they’ll smell HEAVENLY!).

Knotty Boy Gift Combos: A customizable bag bursting with delicious Knotty goodies including Knotty Boy dreadlock products, beads and adornments, head gear, stickers, and more - all presented in an adorable starry gift bag complete with holiday ribbon and gift tag! Simple, Deluxe, and Mega Holiday Gift Combos to choose from, ranging in price from $32-$56, and the perfect gift solution for hard-to-buy-for knotty ones.

..

Bead-Bag Stocking-Stuffers: A customizable selection of our gorgeous lock beads and adornments presented in a starry cellophane gift bag, bead-dazzled with ribbon and gift tag (get it, bead-dazzled? ha. ha.).  Simple, Deluxe and Mega Bead Bags to choose from, ranging from $2.50 - $15.50, and are sure to keep your nappy one happy!.

Or build your own Knotty Boy gift combo with our special gift-wrapping and sending option on the Knotty Boy Shopping Cart page. Just add what you like to the cart (maybe a wooly pigtail pilot hat or sterling silver lock coil for something really special!) and fill out the required info on the Check Out page. You will discretely receive your receipt via email while the lucky receiver gets a box full of goodies, wrapped up in a starry cello bag, ribbon and a beautiful Knotty gift tag “from you” with your personal message on it.

NOTE: Holiday shipping cut-off deadlines: All US and International Christmas gift orders must be placed before December 1st in order to be delivered before Dec. 25th. Canada, you’ve got a few extra days to spare but the longer you wait, the greater risk you run of not receiving it in time.

For those of you in the Vancouver area, the above Combos and Gift-Wrapping is also available at the Knotty Boy Lock Shop & Salon, seven days a week!

Hope some of these ideas help take the ‘dread’ out of your holiday shopping, making the whole thing a little more Knotty AND nice this year.  Until next time!

Knotty Wintery Pigtail Pilot Hats are back – limited time only!....

Could these be more RAD? A custom-made winter hat exclusively for lock-havers and so cute we could scream. Along with ‘cute’ we also definitely include ‘hot on guys’, we especially want to see these on our nappy boys. Side openings provide ventilation and poke-out-ability for your locks while the wooly 100%-recycled sweater fabric keeps you cozy. Braided toggles allow the hat to be tied snug in place or hang loose for that Nepalese Sherpa look. Machine-washable and durable, these are an excellent solution for winter chills and waning hotness (see above ‘hot on guys’ comment). ONLY FOR WINTER, pick them up now while we've got 'em!

UPDATE May 28, 2009
Hello Knotty friends! We're so excited to announce that our $5 for Charity birthday event yesterday was a huge success, far exceeding our expectations thanks to all you lovely people that came out and helped out! Our three superstar stylists did 40 fantastic haircuts in a mere 7.5 hours, with a lineup of five people deep at the door and turning away many toward the end of the day. With all donations counted, a combined total of $713 was raised through $5 haircuts, $5 products and cash donations to the cause. The Neighborhood Houses of Greater Vancouver will be accepting this donation and have already honored Knotty Boy with Sponsorship status at their upcoming 25th Good Neighbor Awards Celebration in November. wee!

This event was so successful we've decided to make it a yearly Knotty Boy Lock Shop birthday event, so if you missed out this year, be sure to stay tuned for our next one... perhaps with celebrity stylist appearances, you ask? Who knows?

Lots of love to you all!

Hello there and Happy New Year, me knotty hearties!  It is none other than I, Captain Brunhilda, forever slaying pesky tax deductions and swinging my sword in the direction of all things accounting-related, here to fling you a message in a bottle from the good ship Knotty and let you know what we’ve all been up to.

Knotty Boy 10th Birthday Basheroo!
As you may or may not be aware, November 2008 saw Knotty Boy turning 10 years young - something we simply couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you Knotty kids, so give yourselves a big hearty slap on the back for us!  We threw a party of celebration in December where staff members old and new joined with suppliers, well-wishers and so many of those who have helped Knotty Boy grow over the years.

There was singing (specifically, scream-singing to ‘New York, New York’, ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and ‘Hey Jude’, but this is to be expected whenever a karaoke machine is present, of course - a Knotty favorite), dancing, pinata-smashing (another Knotty favorite!), gorging ourselves on exquisite Latino cuisine and much rowdy fun had by all into the wee hours of the morning. Oh parties, we love ‘em. Maybe a little too much.

Exclusive Knotty MySpace/Facebook Family FREEBIE!
OK, so even though our party was a private celebration of 10 years of sheer Knottiness, we'd now like to include YOU in kicking our 11th year off right (the biggest and best to come, we can just feel it...). To further extend to you, our Family, our great big ‘thanks!’ for your continued love and loyalty, and in honor of the coming Springtime and Spring-cleanings we all are bound to do... with the purchase of one of our already-deeply-discounted
Knotty Boy Maintenance Kits for New or Mature Locks, we will throw in a FREE pack of our popular Knot-Tea Scalp & Lock Tonic !

It'll be one of our choice but don't worry, they're all SUPER wonderful for stimulating scalps and refreshing locks!

To claim with purchase of a Maintenance Kit, simply paste the following phrase into the COMMENTS area of your Knotty order form:  'Good day, Sir Michael-of-the-Knotty-Warehouse. As per the eZiner-exclusive offer, I’ve purchased my Maintenance Kit and would be chuffed to have a spot of Knot-Tea if you’d be so kind! Cheers, mate! '

Until we meet again, my knotty friends - and a very Happy Van Halentines Day to you all!  *‘panama!’*

Friday, December 12, 2008
Greetings, me Knotty friends! It is I, Captain Brunhilda, counter of Knotty Boy coinage and general order-giver of the KB office here to bring you some exciting news from the realm o' the good ship Knotty ….

Food Drive at The Shop!

Yar indeedy, the season of givin' and gettin' is certainly upon us. Here at The Dreadquarters we've completed many a successful charity-focused project this year and now for the month of December, its our annual Food Drive for items to be distributed amongst our neighbors in need right here in Vancouver.

If you're in the
Knotty Boy Lock Shop 'hood and would like to help, we and the community would be extremely grateful for any donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries you'd like to drop off with us. You can also make a cash donation for a tax-deductible receipt and for $5 min. donation receive a easy-to-attach/remove/reuse Synthetic Dread Clip-In in your choice of holiday colours! Cute, festive AND helpful.

And if you're not local, git yer own! Set up a box at your work, school, skate park, etc. and collect donations to your local food bank or find out if there are other ways to help out there. If you've got any time on your hands these days, organizations everywhere desperately need your time AND your hands. Lending a helping hand certainly helps take the focus off all our own troubles and gives us perspective, not to mention makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Warm fuzzies, warm fuzzies! Err.. I mean… gives ye a tingle o' warmth in that icy, black pirate heart o' yers. But jist a tingle now! ahem.

New Knotty Sponsored Kids!

Say a hearty hello to our new skervy knaves KnottyKerri & KnottyDennis!

18 year-old

Check out the adorable vid she sent us!

He sent us lots of lovely pics and a link to his website full of great videos of their moves and projects!

Do something amazing you don't get enough respect for? If you're an artist/musician/sports person/anything else exciting and would like to be sponsored, the next Knotty Sponsorship Submission period ends March 1st, 09, so get all the details and send us your info before then!
