The Sterling has been open since 1890, and the home of live music for almost 20 years! The last two years we have dedicated our venue to the best local bands and original music. Local, regionals and national originals have embraced the room as the best in the Lehigh Valley. WE ARE THE LARGEST ORIGINAL BAND VENUE, ON THE EAST COAST! We are always looking for new, and upcoming bands, and we are always host to touring nationals. The Sterling Hotel is the hangout to most, if not all the musicians in the Valley. We have to keep this page updated (as this is where 99% of you look for show listings, times, dates, info, calendar, details and local band chat & comments), so we're here on MySpace a ton anyway. As cool as your history, demo and accolades are (we really are impressed with the quality of local unsigned artists!), that isn't the info we need.

Please message us FROM YOUR BAND'S MYSPACE (because this is how we are going to respond to you and promote you, your booker/manager doesn't want a half dozen emails from us, and can't post them to your fan base anyhow). Tell us your genre, expected draw, age range of the band and the crowd, a general idea of how often you play the Lehigh Valley (quarterly, monthly, etc) and the date or dates you're looking at.

Did MTV forget that rap and pop are not the only genres?

ARE METAL AND ROCK EVEN GENRES ANYMORE?

*WE* think it's alive and well. *WE* happen to like to rock the f**k out here at the Sterling Hotel. Not saying we're not fans of pop, standard rock, dance, etc... it's just... did anyone else watch the VMAs and think that MTV treated all our favorite music like the bottom of the barrel, setting up the Foo Fighters in a suite like a frickin afterthought? Dave Grohl pitched Mastadon and Queens of the Stone Age and none of their performances even AIRED. We saw six seconds of Serj from System of a Down. We heard about 826873643 rap, pop, and (whatever the hell you call Panic at the Disco, Fallout Boy and Linkin Park) albums that dropped or are releasing in the next couple months... did NO rock, hard rock, or metal artists release new material in the last twelve months? Did you see ANYONE that wasn't a rap or top 40 artist pick up an award?
