Current mood:  content
so after however long this bands been together, the 28th is the final show. alex and i aren't playing anymore. this band isn't fun anymore and it seems like it's turned into a joke. it's run out of steam. we're done. tired of trying. does anybody care? i don't..
we'll be back i'm sure. don't know when but i bet it'll be at sidebar. for now we're all moving on to smaller and less meaningful things. but none of that really matters. definitly had alot of fun over the years and it was all worth it but theres no sense in beating a dead horse. except to laugh at it after it shits everywhere.. but that stopped being funny after manny left.
on that note come check out the show on the 28th. we will be in true form that night i'm sure, are we gonna be good? bad? theres only one way to find out.

so we're back here once again. drummerless. so obviously, we're looking for a new drummer. check it out, this is what we are looking for

-you need your own drumset
-you need your own car
-you should have a job, because we're not giving you any money. mainly because we don't make any money
-you need to be able to practice at least once a week
-you need to be able to pay your part of the practice space ($25)
-we play the majority of our shows on the weekends, so you need to be able to do that
-if you complain alot we'll knock your ass out
-if you want to play drums then it would be nice if you have some material previously recorded that you can show us. you can tell how good a drummer is during the first ten seconds of them playing. so please don't waste our time.
-we're in this band because we have nothing better to do, we just wanna get drunk and have a good time. we're not asking much, so if you think you're up to it send us a message and we can take it from there

Current mood:  dirty
i wanna start off by saying thank you to everyone who came out and supported sidebar last night for their 11th anniversary show, especially those bums that wondered over from davis street who where watching all the bands from the alleyway.

now anyone who's seen us in the past couple of months has heard the new and improved wrecks. we're working on getting some new recordings up hopefully by next week to show everyone who hasn't gotten the chance to see us live what we're doing now. personally this is something that has been buggin the hell outta me for a while now. our last record has been officially dubbed cheap sleep because, well, it's pretty fucking boring and slow compared to what we got goin on now. no offense to our old buddy jack. but that shits gotta go. that's not us anymore.

what we're gonna be putting up will be recordings done on alex's laptop and is gonna be pretty rough. we have plans of going into the studio before the end of the year to record our new cd which will be put out on zodiac killer records in 2010.

we're taking a little break from shows for a month or two to get our shit together, get our new drummer krazy al familiar with all the new material and work on some new songs that we've been meaning to write, but due to circumstances beyond our control haven't been able to do. but now everything has finally fallen into place and we are ready to get some shit done. these new songs will be tougher and rawer than anything done on cheap heat or the get wrecked e.p. think if press black was punk rock with talent. i think that's the best way to describe it.

now if you're reading this than you probably have nothing better to do so
check out www.zodiackillerrecords.com and buy some real punk rock and roll cds and vinyl

or you can send us a picture of your boobies. either one will be appreciated.
cheers

Current mood:  energetic
As you all know Jack left the band in dec.'08 after two years and some odd months of service leading to months of temp. drummers helping us out. Well we're pleased to announce that the search is over, Krazy Al {ex-corrupted youth/crack and divide} is now our drummer. Now with the line up complete again we'll be hitting the studio in late fall/early winter to record our second full length. We'll also be featured on a GG Allin tribute album, both will be released on Zodiac Killer Records. The band would like to take a moment and thank Manny "the mexicutioner" Garcia {betty sue aside} for helping us out big time over the months. Also Chris "sweetime" McNasty for playing some shows with us. We wish you all the best and if anyone needs a solid drummer hit him up. So thats what's happening in our world. Thanks to everyone whose been along for the ride so far cause we're not stopping.
cheers

The spring break/wooooo/skateboard/kill cops tour was a fucking blast. First off i'd like to thank Bass Amp and his Girlfriend,Chi-Town 77 Street Punks,Joanne for sending the pizzas, the Jacksonville punks and everyone else that gave us a place to stay and fed us.

BALTIMORE-You should have been at the show if not i'm not telling you how things went.

CHICAGO-Well the tour was delayed due to the hartford county police{fucking pigs} which was ok because the show got cancelled the night before. So we hauled ass to Chi-Town and got drunk with our friends. Highlights of the evening was Manny was pooping and some kid busted in the room and threw up in the tub while Manny continued doing his thing. The next morning Alex waking up to find that kid spooning with him....

MILWAUKEE-We got there early and skated the shit outta that city. The show was good but a lot of drama and a few fights but the turnout was good and the rest of the evening went well until.....we encountered a character named "Monster Mike".We were trying to get some sleep at the "Out House" when this guy shows up yelling at his girlfriend calling her a "stupid fucking bitch" at top of his lungs. With any luck he'll be in jail soon.So after listening to this asshole not shut up over a four hour period we had enough and left.

ST.LOUIS-Great city did a lot of skating along the mississippi river. The show was fun met a lot of nice people. Afterwards, we went back to Bass Amp's house{sex robots, ded bugs} had some drinks and crashed out. The following morning we awoke to hot meal and ten dollar parking ticket. Thanks again for putting us up!!!

DAY 1 OFF -We skated to the St. Louis arch it's fucking huge {thats what she said}.We went to the budwieser brewery and learned about beer. Actually we just took the tour for the free beer at the end. Then started heading towards Memphis.

DAY 2 OFF -So we're in Memphis and thought hey lets go to graceland. Well we figured out quickly how Elvis makes a ton of money from beyond the grave. So we left and went to sun records which was really cool{we're big Johnny Cash fans}. We took the tour of the studio and skated all over the city and watched some blues band playing in the streets. Then left for Nashville arriving around 10 p.m. We then did what we've done this whole tour so far skated.

NASHVILLE-We picked up where we left off from the night before.Hung out around waiting for the show to start and met this crazy drunk guy named William the Tennessee Hitchhiker and Alex managed to get on the local news . So show time comes and the local band decides their playing first without running it by us. So we're pissed sitting around waiting to play when Alex spotted some cash on the floor a $100 dollars total. Apparently people in Nashville leave their money on the floor in dark places. So we grabbed that shit and started driving to florida easiest hundred bucks ever made didn't even have unload the trailer.

JACKSONVILLE-On our way to the club Kevin decided to break his phone into four pieces and throw out the window. Anyway got to the club around show time to a huge crowd which consisted of the other band playing that night. Needless to say we had some drinks to get motivated. Crashed out at this punk house, nice people made us breakfast.

GREENVILLE,S.C.-The best show of the tour, big crowd, people dancing and free pizza. Big thanks to our boys The Fast Boys for setting up the show and letting us crash at Fast Boy H.Q.

Once again thanks to everyone that helped us on the road and from back home.
cheers and see you soon

before you ask us to set up a show/play a show already booked in baltimore please take into consideration a few things.

check our upcoming shows, we're only gonna play shows in the city about once a month.

we
CAN play shows on friday and saturday. we CAN NOT play shows mon -
thursday, and most likely not sunday either. we all have work/school
during the week. we're just a couple of blue collar working class assholes with bills to play. this band is something for us to do on the weekends.
and i only get two weeks of vacation per year, so i have to use it
sparingly.

if you juvenile delinquents with your
punk bands want us to put you on one of our show, just ask! but. BUT.
keep in mind, you have a better chance of getting on a show if you come
out and talk to us, hang out with us. we're all about helping the kids.
and if you wanna get paid, you gotta stick around til the end of the
show.

we put on shows because
we don't have anything better to do on the weekends and we want to have
a good time. so come out and have a good time with us.

cheers

courtesy of maximum rock and roll!!

very generic mid-to-up tempo straight-up punk from this band from Baltimore { who I doubt are named after the DEEP PURPLE song,...but you never know}. UK82 meets the Myspace generation; it's very much by-the-numbers and uninspired, like a skint GBH. 'Nuff said. {ad} mrr 306

we sound like gbh? did this guy even listen to the record.. or just look at the cover??

LIVING WRECKS, THE:
Cheap Heat: CD
Gang vocals are like writing a novel and italicizing all the text you think is clever and insightful. Anyway, the music reminded me of nothing, which can sometimes mean they were so original I have nothing to compare them to, but, in actuality, means they were so generic I couldn't narrow it down. –Bryan Static (Zodiac Killer)

anyway, the music reminded me of nothing... ... .. they were so generic i couldn't narrow it down...

the living wrecks could give a fuck about a shit review, just try not to contradict yourself.

Razorcake Get Wrecked: CD EP
Five-song studio effort that lays the pipe for their full length, due this summer. I'm hearing Johnny Thunders, Dead Boys, and some Dammed in the equation. "Love You Dead" is a great song. There is also a Pagans' cover here. I predict this band will only get better over time. They seem to be playing like madmen on the East Coast, so catch 'em live tomorrow. –Sean Koepenick (Self-released)

"Cheap Heat is The Living Wrecks first full length album on zodiac killer records and it's a pretty darn good one if you were to ask me. They have an interesting uk 82 sound following in the footsteps of bands like the Damned and the Deadboys. This band tours like crazy around the east coast so if they come around you should seriously check them out. Their live show is really exciting and they never have a problem living up to their "wreckless" reputiation on and off stage."
