A quick followup to the blog post about the Starship Enterprise Project I had the honor to be a part of.  The original model I painted over is located at the Empire AMC 25 in the heart of NYC.  I believe the theater is at 42nd st and 8th ave or thereabouts.  First to send me some pics from the actual installation gets an 8 minute sketch of a Star Trek character...probably Spock heh.  Take a lot of photos and by all means, go see the movie this weekend.  How well it does determines whether Paramount will put more money into future productions.  This is the most promising Star Trek development to happen in years...let's make it happen!

Just shoot me a link to yer pics via twitter (@jimlee00).  If you don't have a twitter account, just go to twitter.com and get onboard the cocktail chatter express.

Post your reviews of the movie here after it comes out.  I'm seeing it very early Friday morning in IMAX!  Am stoked!  In the meantime, Paramount has put up all 25 painted Enterprises finally and they can be seen at http://www.startrekmovie.com/modelgallery.

Enjoy!  I did...some amazing versions at the site!

Address is 16344 Beach Blvd in Westminster, CA near LA. I'll be there from 4 to 7 pm, having just returned from Japan via LAX.  Come see the effects of severe jetlag and snag a free comic book while yer at it!  Most likely will NOT be sketching but come hang out anyway...

Thinking a social networking site devoted to art will inspire me...loaded this on the site:

Rogue X-Men pencil layout by ~jimlee00 on deviantART

So at this point, I got twitter, myspace, a facebook fan page and now deviantart and of course the original studio joint blog--gelatometti.

I think I will need an online assistant to handle all this...each site should have different things...no? I could put all the art on deviantart, all the dog pics on myspace, all the high school and college friends coming out of the woodwork on facebook and all the net tweakers on twitter hahaha..

Decisions, decisions.

So the con organizers went back on their word concerning my tickets to the Lanciano Comics Ferstival in April so I will NOT be attending. Just as well as I will be in Barcelona the following month and that would have been a lot of time up in the air.

Apologies to any fans who were planning on attending...

So back in 1996 I bought an incredible portfolio in Italy...one I have been using to this day but it's on it's last legs. The zippers have lost their knobs, the handle keeps coming off and a number of the hard plastic and metal elements have torn apart.

So I am looking for its replacement. I found the manufacturer--MH Way--and while they sell some items online, they don't sell the portfolio case I am looking for. Funny enough, tho it is an Italian company, the line was designed by a Japanese artist. The portfolios are pricey but worth every penny. Nothing else I have seen comes close to the ME 13 portfolio.

So I am looking for someone from Milan who can visit their storefront on via Durini 2 in Milan and pick up two of these suckers and ship them to me. I'll of course pay for the items and the shipping and throw in a small sketch for the trouble.

The item is at this link if you want to take a look at it's specs.

Se e' italiano e abita a Milano ma non riesce capire questo blog in l'inglese, mandoti un messaggio tradutto in italiano. Mi dispiace per il mio brutto italiano...

So it's my last day here in NYC, packing and playing a bit of COD4...been here a week for the con which was amazing and fantastic like every year previous. This is now officially my second favorite con behind Wonder Con. Anyways...apologies to those of you who sent me messages through myspace before the show asking for clarifications and times of signings, etc. I actually don't nail down the specifics sometimes until the day before or of the signings so I am as unsure as you are. The DC booth and Program guide are always the best places to check for times.

The WildStorm gang and Carla and I were running around so much from meeting to dinner to event to con to party that I didn't have a moment to log on.

Second, we got a puppy from a kennel here in Brooklyn...and it's a Maltese as many of you guessed correctly.

Her name is Nobu, named after a sushi restaurant Carla and I like to frequent and she is just 8 weeks old and weighs just a bit over 2 pounds (1 kilo!). I've never owned a dog so this is a completely new experience for me. Starting out small heh.

Got a cat 2 weeks ago as well named Enzo. From the San Diego shelter, she is 3 years old and must have come from a family with a dog as he gets along really well with lil Nobu.

I am enjoying having creatures run around my legs though I have to admit, I have almost stepped on Nobu once or twice. Silent like a ninja she is! Now if I weren't allergic to pets, things would be perfect...but that would be too easy.
