5 yr old Hayleigh Cummings, Missing Girl.
Please read the song, below.

Hello everyone. I hope you're all enjoying the weekend, as much as i am. :)

Just wanted to share another song i wrote back in February, a TRUE-story song about a young girl that is missing from Florida, by the name of Hayleigh Cummings. You may have heard about her on the news. I kept up with the story about Hayleigh, back when she first came up missing from her home in Florida, on Feb. 9th, and after seeing her precious face on t.v., i just could not get her off my mind, so i decided to write a song about her. She is such a beautiful child, and this is so tragic. Her mother said she felt like her heart was ripped from her chest. I put her words into this song. I cannot imagine the pain her family is feeling. I can only hope that i have helped somehow, by writing the song. Maybe someone will hear the song that knows something. Maybe the timeline written in the song, or her name will ring a bell. Who knows. All i know is that i love to help people, and i love to write songs that tug at heartstrings, and songs that make a difference. Anyway, thanks for reading my song, and let me know what you think. Also, would you say a prayer for Hayleigh tonight? It would mean so much to me. Thanks, and God bless. :)

"Where Is Hayleigh?"

(CHORUS):

***************************************
Where is Hayleigh
With her beautiful brown eyes
Surely someone must have seen her
When she disappeared that night
Where is Hayleigh
She must be so filled with fright
A little girl is missing
And somethin' just ain't right
And as i go to sleep at night
I'll ask the Lord to hold her tight
Oh, where is Hayleigh
***************************************

Her daddy worked late one night
And when he walked through the door
Misty said Hayleigh's nowhere in sight
They started looking around for her

The back door was propped open
And little Hayleigh was gone
I wrote this song, just hopin'
Someone might bring Hayleigh home

(CHORUS):
***************************************
Where is Hayleigh
With her beautiful brown eyes
Surely someone must have seen her
When she disappeared that night
Where is Hayleigh
She must be so filled with fright
A little girl is missing
And somethin' just ain't right
And as i go to sleep at night
I'll ask the Lord to hold her tight
Oh, where is Hayleigh
***************************************

(MUSICAL BREAK)
Light a candle just for Hayleigh
Don't forget to say a prayer
She's been missing since February
They can't find her anywhere
And her mama says it feels like
Her heart's been ripped out of her chest
Every single day that passes by
Is another day she's missed

(CHORUS):
****************************************
Where is Hayleigh
With her beautiful brown eyes
Surely someone must have seen her
When she disappeared that night
Where is Hayleigh
She must be so filled with fright
A little girl is missing
And somethin' just ain't right
And as i go to sleep at night
I'll ask the Lord to hold her tight
Oh, where is Hayleigh
*****************************************
Oh, where is Hayleigh?

Hey guys! As you know, child abuse is something that i speak out about, through my music. I had already co-wrote the song "Stop The Abuse" with my good friend Theresa Kuznetz, and she approached me the other night about co-writing this new song called "Living In Hell", which is also a song about child abuse. I didn't want to put just thoughts into this song, I wanted to put my heart into it, and also emotions, into the lyrics. Though the other song we wrote is great, I think this song speaks volumes, and it really brings to light what a child might be feeling emotionally, when he or she is being abused. It's not a pretty picture, but i will always represent an abused child, and hope that justice prevails. More people need to stand up for these kids, and contribute what you can to help stop child abuse. I guess i hope that somehow our song does just that. Anyway, thanks for reading, and God bless! Hope you enjoy our song! :)

Theresa, thanx for writing with me again! You and Joe are dear to my heart!!

Please pray for Theresa's husband Joe, who is battling cancer. Thanks.

"LIVING IN HELL"

Mommy, He hurt me, Can you make him stop
He hit me too hard, Cuz I broke his clock
Why does he hurt me, I try to be good
I wish daddy loved me, Like he should

Mommy, He also hurt Timmy too
I don't understand this, I have no clue
Other daddies don't act this way
If we misbehave, Daddy makes us pay

(CHORUS):
***********************************************
Too many children in the world today
Go through this pain every single day
Why can't we stop them and throw them in jail
So children won't have to keep living in hell
***********************************************

Mommy, Come help me, Come stop this man
I try, And I'm doing the best that I can
I'm just a child, So I need your help
But you don't save me, When I start to yell

Who can I tell that will listen to me
I'm not sure if they'd even believe
If I tell my teacher about my dad
I'm afraid that it might make him mad

(CHORUS):

*************************************************
Too many children in the world today
Go through this pain every single day
Why can't we stop them and throw them in jail
So children won't have to keep living in hell
*************************************************

(MUSICAL BREAK)

Please God, Tell me, What have I done
To be treated like this, Since I was one
God, You can stop him, Just make him see
That I am only a child of three.

(CHORUS):

**************************************************
Too many children in the world today
Go through this pain every single day
Why can't we stop them and throw them in jail
So children won't have to keep living in hell
**************************************************

Lord, Please save them.......From living in hell

I truly hope you like this song, written by me and Theresa. We put a lot of thought and heart into the lyrics. This song is dedicated to our troops. Feel free to click on "Embed" below the player here, to share this anywhere you like. Better yet, send it on to the record labels, music publishers, etc., you get the drift.....we need the help, and though i can record this one also, i'm not famous enough to get this song the recognition it deserves. (sigh......maybe one day). ;) Who did the vocals? Jason Lee Thomason, and a fabulous job, i must say! :) Thank you, Jason. And here's the good news: A producer in Nashville who believes in this song will be producing it with another artist in a Nashville studio sometime in October. He will then pitch it to his friends around different labels. So wish us luck. Thank you!

"Did I Happen To"

Did I happen to say, that I love you today?
I don't ever want this feeling to slip away
As the days come and go, and pass us by
I hope our love lasts, until the end of time

Did I happen to mention, that I dreamt of you?
And all of the little special things you do
As the dreams come and go, and pass us by
I hope that our love will always stay alive

(CHORUS):

*******************************************

Did I happen to hold you when you cried?
I did the best i could, you know i tried
To love, dream, thank, kiss and hold you
I want you to know i've always been true
Did i happen to say that I need you?
Did i mention, just how much i adore you?
Did i happen to....say i love you?
Did i happen to?
Oh, did i happen to?

********************************************

Did I happen to kiss you, in that special way?
To show you that i love you, each and every day
As the kisses come, and as kisses go by
I hope that i can kiss you, for a lifetime

Did I happen to thank you, for being here?
Always around, to calm all my fears
As thank you's come, and thank you's go
I'm thankful that i have your hand to hold

(End with Chorus)

"I Forgot"

VERSES:

I forgot to say how much I love you
I forgot to say how much I care
I forgot to put my arms around you
I look around and you're not there

Now you're gone and i'm alone
I tried to call you on the phone
I know you've moved on with your life
But you are always on my mind

(Chorus):

**************************************

I forgot to say how much I love you
I forgot to say how much I cared
I forgot to put my arms around you
I forgot to tell you i'll be there
You never knew how much I loved you
You never knew how much I cared
You never felt my arms around you
We never had true love to share

*************************************

VERSES:

If i tell you now how much I love you
If i show you just how much I cared
Would you let me put my arms around you?
Is it too late to tell you i'll be there?

How can I make things right?
How can I go on with my life?
Because i'm still in love with you
Every night without you is so blue

(MUSICAL BREAK)

(REPEAT CHORUS)

(TAG):

I say this now, Even though it's too late
Even though you've found somebody new
Darling please, Can't you just wait?
Don't walk away, from a love that's so true

(End With Chorus)

A few people have asked me if i'm knowledgeable on the music industry. Well, all i can say is that i have studied up on it, since i have been performing through the years, and have read a lot of books about it. Too bad i didn't go to Belmont. LoL! But i do have my own opinions and theories about the music industry. So much has changed as far as "sound" goes. You will see what i mean when you listen to a 60's country OR rock album. Yes, even Rock music has changed. My mother popped in a CD of Chuck Berry the other day. I had heard one or two of his songs before, but the whole CD struck a chord with me. I LOVED it. Then i began to think about how much has changed in country music, as well. Today, if an artist recorded material that was similar to Shania Twain's dance hits, someone might say it had too much of a 90's sound. This is in reference to another artist i know, who had written a song with a style of Garth Brooks. Music Row told him it was too "90's". What if we record a song that is too traditional?? Traditional country music would have went over well in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. But we really started to see a big change in the way our music sounded, starting in the 90's, and this goes for Pop/Rock music, as well.

So many people would love to see the "traditional" country music brought back to life. But in this day and time, it would not go over well on radio....or at least, that's probably what the music industry will tell you. When a record label signs an artist, they want to make sure the artist will produce HIT records, and most of that involves recording a MODERN country, hit song. But what if you have a traditional song, that you think might go over well on radio?? Well, for instance, take a look at the song "BLUE" that Leann Rimes recorded? that was the song that helped the whole world to know her name. Who would have thought that a traditional song would be brought to life in the 90's?? I used to sing that song, and if i didn't sing it on stage, i'd get requests for it, and more requests to sing Patsy Cline.

In my case, i think i have a "traditional/modern" type sound, in other words, i sing a little bit of both, and either will match my vocal abilities, just fine. Do i love traditional music?? YES. But i also love modern, as well. Growing up listening to pop and rock music, along with country, helped me to incorporate all of that into my vocal style. Well, here is my opinion. You can take a traditional country song, and add some modern appeal to it. Rev it up a little bit, take it out of the norm, and do something with the song to really make it SHINE. But not just with the songs, with yourself. Take the songs that you know will bring out the very best in you, and give it all you've got. The public will either love you or hate you. But at least you know you've given your all, through song AND style, personality, and stage presence, which all determines who you are, as an artist. Music will continue to change, you just have to go along WITH the changes, not against them. ;) I'm sure most of the younger audiences appreciate the modern country. And i do, too. But for the traditional country songwriters, don't lose hope. Just do a little something extra to make your song "sparkle", and you just might have a hit on your hands.

And that's my thoughts for the week. Hope you enjoyed the read. :)

A little update, while you're here:

The song that Theresa Kuznetz and i wrote, called "Stop The Abuse" is now updated with music, and will be ready for me to record soon. I can't wait for you to hear it. And hopefully, it will bring awareness to child abuse. This is something not many people speak out about, but just imagine how many people we can reach across the world, with just ONE song. Please listen and look for it soon! God bless! :)

When i came up with the idea for this song, i really had no idea there was actually a "Hollywood Boulevard". LoL So it was much to my surprise, that it's one of the biggest streets in Hollywood. Maybe that means that this song is meant to be. My friend and co-writer helped with adding a few lines, so special thanks to her. I hope you enjoy this, and maybe i will get lucky and one of the Hollywood filmmakers will grab this one up. LoL ;)

"Hollywood Stars"

She spends all her nights
Thinking of the Hollywood sign
She would love to chase her dreams
But she's running out of time

She'd love to pack up and go
But her parents told her no
She wants to chase her dreams
As far as they will go

(Chorus):

***************************
She spends all her time
wishing on Hollywood stars
wondering what life is like
on Hollywood Boulevard
She's got the looks
She's got the class
So she packs up her truck
And fills up with gas
She's following her heart
All the way to the Hollywood stars

****************************

(Musical break)

She left a note to her parents
Saying she'll call them soon
She knows they won't understand
But this is something she had to do

On her way, she sees the lights
The mountains and the Hollywood sign
She's finally made it there
Where all the stars shine bright

(Chorus 2):

*****************************

Now she spends her time
Underneath the Hollywood stars
Everyone knows her name
Out on Hollywood Boulevard
She chased her dreams
Now she's on t.v.
And when she steps on stage
To give her thank-you speech
Her mom and dad say
We're proud of who you are
Our little Hollywood star

***************************

Yeah, she's a Hollywood star

I came across this wonderful lady’s page here, and started reading. I found this poem/quote that she had written. As i read it, the tears started flowing. This is ME, and how i feel about my dreams. Some days i am encouraged, some days i’m inspired, some days i’m consumed, and some days i just want to throw in the towel and give up. But we know that’s not going to happen. LoL I’m very tough, i pick myself up and keep fighting and working for what i want in my career. I may be a nobody to some people, but i might mean the world to some of you. :) I am happy to share this poem with you, so that you will know how i feel about my music. I am blessed to have such great fans and friends on here, and i also feel it’s the perfect time to tell you that, and just say THANK YOU. Hope you enjoy this as much as i did.

MY DREAM: I have a dream... it lies beneath my every breath, it consumes my waking hours, like the single drop of rain that floods the precious flower. I find it hard to breathe... from the passion that lies within, this desire to fulfill my destiny, this gift bestowed upon the likes of me. Few may see... this vision that guides my soul or feel the music that holds its gleam. few may understand, for it is a gift to be given, thus... I have a dream. © 2008: Sandy Eddy
