Being in a band for the fun of it is awesome. Using a band as a money making venture and career in this day and age is quite a bit harder. How much are you willing to sacrifice? Friends, family, girlfriends, comfort, financial security . . . . even safety?

Being in a band is also a type of marriage. A "normal" marriage between two people is tough enough . . . a marriage between five people is much harder, especially when they all come from different parts of the country. It's also hard when these five people all have different definitions of what a "marriage" really entails.

Another tough part of being in a band as a money making venture is separating the "business" from the "personal". There's gotta be a bunch of you out there who hate your day jobs. Think how hard it would be to actually live with your boss.

The honest truth is that the members of Another Day Late are all at different points in their lives. Some want to keep pushing through the sludge while others would rather focus on different career paths. Some members want the craziness and uncertainty of life on the road while others want the safety and security of their hometowns. We have been trying all summer to reconcile our differences and figure out a compromise. Or, in other words, figure out who's turn it is to make more sacrifices.

The simple answer is that we cannot continue as a band unless we are completely united. Sadly, we are not united anymore.

This decision is especially gut wrenching because we recently recorded 3 songs off of our potential full length and they are killer. We love our fans more than anything and have been so grateful for their love and support throughout this crazy journey. New fans are always surprised because when they message us, we always message them back. We are very down to earth dudes and have been truly humbled by our fans.

We love these songs and we love our dudes in ADL. We want you guys to have the new songs, so we have included a link to a zip file with them all in high-quality form for your listening pleasure. Enjoy the new songs, spread them around like gravy on chocolate chip pancakes. If you enjoy them a fraction of how much we enjoyed writing / recording them, then we've done our job...

thanks for everything, you have made this trip amazing

Hey everyone, it's ADL with a huge update . . . so grab a brew, get comfy, and put on your spectacles. (If you are underage or pregnant, put the brew back).

We affectionately have nicknamed our last tour the "Disas-Tour". Venues decided not to pay us, our label (B& Recordings) gave us a van with no oil in it that got 5 mpg and had a broken gas gauge, and some shows didn't get booked in time (our fault). It eased our misery that some of our amazing fans drove lots of miles to see us and for that we are grateful! We knew going into the tour that it would be a tough road to travel, but we hit a few other obstacles along the way-

As you may or may not have heard yet, Chad decided towards the end of the tour to leave ADL. Although there were some differences, we all wish Chad the best with whatever he does and we're sure he will be raging all over LA. In the meantime Justin has been writing some killer bass lines and we are actively seeking a new bass player.

Our follow-up national tour was cancelled last minute (a booking agency dropped the ball), which was especially rough because we committed to it 3 months in advance and it really blew up our summer plans.

To make matters worse, we hit a wall with our label B& Recordings. As you might have noticed, our CDs are not available in any "brick and mortar" record stores . . . anywhere. There are a bunch more issues with the label but we would rather not go into detail. Needless to say, we have severed ties with B& Recordings and are now free agents. Our affiliate label Doghouse (who distributes the releases) has been great to us and has done their best to help out and we really appreciate their efforts. We'll be searching for a new home…this time one that really works for ADL.

So, what have we been doing these last two months??? Well aside from actually spending some much needed time with our lady friends…we have been slaving away writing and recording new material!!!! We just finished tracking three songs with Keith Armstrong (who by the way is the man!!!) that we are hoping will become our next record!! We have grown so much musically since our EP and we can't wait to show everyone our new sound. We feel so confident in this new music and will be shopping labels next month trying to find the best home for us as a band.

More good news: We inked our official endorsement deal with Ultimate Ears in ear monitoring systems. They have been extremely supportive of us and put our pictures on their Metro-Fi series of headphones packaging as well in their full page magazine advertisements. Kohl and Josh have been touring with them for some time now and recently found out how amazing they can be in the studio environment as well.
We also just received an endorsement from Bad Cat Amplifiers and picked up a brand new amp for use on the full length. The amp delivered . . . big time. Justin and Scott hung out at the Bad Cat factory and spent the afternoon trying all of the amps and talking tone. It was a magical experience (if you care about guitar tone as much the Tone Twosome do).

Anyways the point of all of this is that we are still busting ass every day to make sure we can get back out on the road and hug each and every one of you. Bands go through many ups and downs and although we hit a little snag early we are still going strong. Thanks everyone who has believed in us and stuck with us as we navigate this crazy musical journey that is called life.

We will see you again soon!!!

hey guys,

don't know if anyone has gear addiction like i do, but it's gotten the best of me and now i must sell a bunch of gear on ebay, including my former main amp - my soldano avenger. i would keep it if i wasn't poor... but i am. it was the amp that i mainly used on 'News Said its Raining in New York'

i'm also selling speakers, an effect pedal, and my acoustic guitar. check them all out here-

Hey everyone. We've been writing our asses off and are recording vocals now to demos off our full length. We've grown a ton musically and are so excited for this project. We would love to be on the road but we are on a roll writing and need to keep slaying.

Riffs that sear like burning fat, drums that summon the spirit of our ancient elders, undulating bass rhythms that soothe like a mother's milk, and vocals that taste like butter rolled in sugar . . . these are the things you will find in the new musical endeavors of ADL.

In order to get pumped for recording vocals, dear Kohl had some fun shaving. Take a peek!

we should be slapped on our collective wrist for not updating you guys lately, but here is what's going down:

after a couple sad things happened (including a tour that fell through, sorry guys!), we took a bit of time off to see our familys and gfs and bffs. we hadn't been 'home' (except for scott) in about a year, so we all took showers, ate a lot & got super fat, and now we're back into the fray.

we are currently IN THE STUDIO with 3 brand new songs. 1 is the slowest song we've written, 2 is the fastest and slow-er-ist song we've ever written, and 3 is like a post-rock band playing a johnny cash song. they are all very exciting to me, i.e. i max-ed on my credit card on pedals. not sure where / when its coming out, but its coming. its coming.

ALSO, i am starting my very own muxtape: http://thepalmcivet.muxtape.com. to start it off, i have our entire CD on there for your full-song better-quality streaming desires.

enjoy.

So a little time off in Brooklyn and a little crush on the new GarageBand has prompted some ADL remixes. I will be rolling them out as soon as I get better at GarageBand, and as soon as I let go of the stock sample beats that came with the program.
