AMAZING BABY

WARPAINT

DJ Sam James Velde

AMAZING BABY

“These Brooklyn scenesters (and MGMT confreres) pile layers of noisy, cascading guitar onto an “aohw aohw” chorus like wayward glam refugees munching ‘shrooms.” - Spin

“We've been known to enjoy music that sounds like it either comes from outer space or the bottom of a bong, so when we were presented with New York's Amazing Baby, who sound like Bongs In Space, it didn't take long to decide that they were pretty great.” - Fader

When Radiohead aren't trying to revolutionize the music industry, they're trying to instill change in the world. Radiohead has partnered with MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) to raise awareness of human exploitation and trafficking.

Released this past Thursday, Radiohead's new video for "All I Need" as past of the MTV EXIT campaign depicting in split screen a day of a child in a sweatshop along with a child in a middle class suburb. If you would like to know more about the campaign, please visit Think.MTV.com. Along with the info is a interview with Thom Yorke on why the issue of child labor and exploitation is important to address.

APRIL 24 | LOS ANGELES—For fans of '90s trip-hop group Portishead, who have been on hiatus since 1999 and have not released anything since 1998's Roseland NYC Live, this exclusive rehearsal show at the Mayan was nothing short of a dream come true. Since about half of the audience had tickets via the Portishead fan club, there was genuine excitement in the atmosphere—it wasn't just industry tonight.....

Yes Scenestar readers, you heard right! The Mars Volta are back with ANOTHER "secret" intimate show! Where at? No, not The Troubadour, but at Echo Park's own EchoPlex! This time the show was announced as The Mars Volta instead of the mysterious "Deimos" name they took on for their last "secret" show. This is good news for those Angelenos that can't make it to their New Year's Eve Costume Party in San Francisco and can't wait till next year to hear their new material from their upcoming album "The Bedlam In Goliath". This is an additional show to their already announced club tour that was set to start in 2008.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am via Ticketweb. Tickets will go for $30 with a two ticket limit. All tickets will only be available at Will Call. The password for this show is "WAX".
