How many websites does one band need in the year 2009.... I wish we knew... and I wish the answer was 1... but apparently it's not.

Man, it's been a long time since  a blog update. Terribly sorry about that. Nobody seems to have time for anything anymore!
I drove to work today and found out the place was closed... so I came all the way back home and have a few free minutes to fill you all in on what's going on!

First of all, if you were a fan on Facebook - then you'd know what was going on or if you were signed up for the ever informative mailing list - you'd also be on top of what's happening and you wouldn't need this blog to keep you abreast of what's happening. So here are your opportunities to keep yourself ahead of the game for next time.

Hey everyone! Happy Spring!

In order to keep you more intune with us and to keep you believing that we are INDEED making progress with the new album, we're going to be doing some video blogging for you. Since Youtube is the 'industry standard' for public video - we'll be doing it there on our channel www.youtube.com/PhilthHarmonic

I posted our first one last night to just give a heads up and let you hear some of one of the new recordings!

As you all know - we've put up our new recording of 'King of Wishful Thinking' here on Myspace and you can listen to the entire track streaming - free! (For a limited time).

So, if you're intersted in purchasing that and the new recording of 'Teardrops' along with some great live recordings - please send us a personal message here on myspace and we'll work out getting it to you through the mail for only a few bucks!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember that interview and photo shoot we did with GorgeousNewYork.com? Yeah, the one we've been saying is going to launch soon.... well it's so happening.

So, 5/15/09 - we're going to be attending the official GNY-Launch party in Brooklyn. Pictures from it will be available as soon as we can.
Be sure to look for www.gorgeousnewyork.com 's launch in the coming weeks.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The summer festival dates are piling up, be sure to keep checking our schedule and make it out when you can!!!

# Last week I took a much needed trip to my favorite city in the world, Paris - France. (I know, cop out, it's everyone's favorite city...) I was starting to flip out because of the amount of work I was putting in on the album... among other things.

I had a really awesome time - I got to wander the streets alone for a whole day. Stay with a wonderful friend and see some great sights (Versallies, local art, etc...)
I also finally got to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, which I didn't get to do last visit. The best news about the trip is that because my friend Nella was so sweet and let me stay with her, I ended up being.... WAYYYY under my budget for my trip - which means I can go back again sooner than I'd planned!

Culture shock is something that is truly inspiring to a writer. Especially me.

APRIL FOOLS. :-)
The real subject is, BROOKLYN/RECORDING/HAPPY SPRING!

Well we're making our Brooklyn debut in a big way this month with two shows - back to back - one next Thursday @ Goodbye Blue Monday and then the following Friday @ Europa w/ our friends BR and Timebomb. Should be a great time! The first one is an acoustic show - so prepare yourself for some intimate goodness.

So, a personal note here (from Robbie) - I met two really cool people in the past 2 days at completely unrelated events. Sunday night I finally got to hang with someone I admire quite a bit for her skills as a singer and as a keyboard player (not to mention she's staggeringly beautiful!) Sunday night I was chillin' (for a short time) with Grace Potter from Grace Potter and the Nocturnals @ School of Rock in Hackensack, they were there filming for a documentary about Woodstock that's coming out sometime this year. Then earlier tonight I ran into Ray LaMontagne outside of Montclair's Wellmont theater. I didn't get to hang or anything with him but I wished him good luck and it was pretty hip. A pretty exciting couple days.... anyway ON TO THE IMPORTANT STUFF!

Recording info:
This past week/end we laid down some more of Eric (Yaz)'s guitars as well as the horns for most of their stuff. Right now we're in the process of editing that stuff. Chris' bass parts are 90% done. The other things that are yet to be recorded are, some of Aleks' keys, strings (yes! violins and cellos... beliedat!), and percussion and of COURSE - Stephanie's voice. So, there is indeed a bit to go - but we're making progress as quickly as we can.

Big shows:
We were just added to the Collingswood Mayfair again for a reprise of last years killer performances.
We were also offered one of the headliner slots @ Jamfest in Jackson, NJ. That should be a really awesome show. Please contact us directly for tickets - they're going to be available from us BELOW advertised price! Which is $15 ours are MUCH lower. PhilthHarmonic@gmail.com DO IT.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!
We here at club Philth hope you're doing wonderfully and are enjoying the pleasures of the weather change and aren't experiencing the allergies/season change the way Stephanie, Robbie and Chris are - which is with a box of tissues and chicken  soup.

Big show review!
Well, if you weren't fortunate enough to have made it out to the show at the Stone Pony last week, BABY DID YOU MISS A HELLAVA SHOW. Arguably the best Philth show to date; the band pwned the Asbury Park venue and couldn't feel better about how the night went.
Notables about the show:
Not only did the fabulous 'Out of State Horns' appear in full effect (Joe Schmidt-Saxes/Patrick Smith-Trumpet,Flugel/Cameron MacMannus-Trombone) but this show marked the return of the incredible Aleks Ozolins on Keyboards. His last time gracing the stage with the band was September of last year for our show @ Tommy Doyle's in Boston (which, we'll be back at soon!)
The night marked the release of our official DropCard EP which offers (for the first time) a digital downloadable version of our new version of 'Teardrops [Version 2]", "King Of Wishful Thinking" (by Go West), as well as a few very special live recordings. This downloadable dropcard is ONLY available at live performances right now. And it's only $2!
Most excitingly, our friend Rachael Yamagata who we were given the daunting task of taking the stage AFTER, was gracious enough to not only stick around during our set with her whole band (which was marvelous btw) but to JOIN US ON STAGE for our rendition of 'King of Wishful Thinking'! What a fun time. She's such a sweet heart! Check out a video from the show of the very special moment!

Our good friend (and fantastic photographer) Nick Dubois was able to capture some great moments from the show  - here's a little taste - in addition to our new profile photo!

Oooh la lahh is right! We know, we know!

Recording update:
Robbie, Eric, Chris and Aleks will be working like monkeys hooked up to electrodes these next two weeks to get the rhythm section tracks done for the new recordings. Prepare yourselves for some collaborations with friends, old and new as well some old dogs with new tricks from within .

Record Release annoucements:
This may be a little too late - but worth noting regardless!

Chris' band - The All New Cheap Moves has their CD available via NIMBIT - direct on their myspace page. CHECK IT OUT.

Philth Harmonic savior and guitar hero Nick LaFalce (Robbie's brother)'s band The Take also has their album available now exclusively for digital download @ Cdbaby.com

As always - pick up our CD if you haven't got it already!

And or spread the word onto your friends and family that are in need of rocking just a little bit harder.

That would appear to be all the news for now. Stay tuned for more album information as well as upcoming shows.

We're to be in Brooklyn in early April. Tell ya friends. It's going to be a hot few weeks.

Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes
Greetings all! First of all thanks for staying with us through 2008 and growing along with us as we came plowing full steam into the new year!

Here we are and things are grand. For the first couple months - schedule wise we're taking things a bit easier than (than any of us would like to) we have in the past year and a half.  Stephanie and I are going to be doing a lot of behind the scenes stuff - getting our personal lives in order and doing as much promoting as we can. Eric 'Yaz' Lindberg will be out in Europe again on tour with the fabulous Nell Bryden. Lucky her - getting to take our boy on the road again!

Now, to the important stuff.
We've been talking BIG GAME - about the new recording of 'Teardrops' and if you're astute and one of the realllly good fans that's been voting for us to get into the Mayercraft Carrier competition - you've already heard an mp3 of the track! It - exists, and it's out there. We just received the final mix in high quality from David Henry and he's beginning to mix 'King of Wishful Thinking' this month. We should have these tracks ready for release very soon.
The live acoustic album has not been put on hold. It hit a few hiccups when we found that the show we wanted to release did not have the sonic integrity (it was distorted really bad at certain points) and our faithful engineer Kyle Cadena - @ Red Sun Recording studios wouldn't allow us to put out something sub par. So we've been collecting some rare live recordings and performances for something special.

Since the last post we've had some really cool live shows - we got to play with our good friends - the fantastic Bern and the Brights @ Indie Music Circus (12/27/08) in Montclair, and what a fabulous show it was! All the performers were awesome. Click the link to check out Michael Aquino's page and find out what the Circus is all about.
While in the Indie spirit of things, Stephanie and I drove down one snowy night to be a part of the esteemed 'Indie Music Night' down in Princeton hosted by the wonderful Sarah Donner. While the weather was frightful, and the audience wasn't large enough to have us perform in the pavillion, the show was moved to a local home (walking distance). And we all performed in the living room. Despite the minor set back, the show was wonderful. The intimate crowd was very attentive and interactive. We busted out our new tune 'Cheat on my BFFL' and it seemd to be a big hit! What a fun singalong time we all had.
Onto the inauguration celebration @ the Bowery Poetry Club. This was a sweet night because we got to play with our friends the Defending Champions and Daylow. It was bitter cold that night, but the audience didn't mind and - since we brought the horn section... it was hot in there as soon as they started blowing. Them dudes is hot! Now whether the inauguration idea was a pleasnt one or unpleasent one for audience members - it didn't matter as soon as the tunes hit. And speaking of fun sing alongs - we debuted 'Cheat on my BFFL' with the horns @ this show and it was a huge hit. If you haven't heard this tune yet - get out to the next show so you can start singing along right away!

SCHEDULE CHANGES
We were scheduled to be at the Ringside on 2/7/09 but we've had to cancel due to conflicts. Our apologies to anyone who was planning on attending that!
We have rescheduled the appearance @ Hell's Kitchen in Newark from 1/4/09 to 2/15/09 - be there! It's going to be a great acoustic duo show!

Hey everyone! Happy Holidays!

Hope you had a wonderful sacred and safe time this week! What a wonderful time of year!

What better way to celebrate the best time of year - than by playing a beast show @ the Bitter End!?
This past friday we rocked the Bitter End and our good friend Josh Dion (of the Josh Dion Band) sat in with us on our tune "Can't Get You Outta My Head" - singing harmonies and scatting with Stephanie!  It was a sweet night all in all. The awesome James Lawrence rocked the saxes for us. Yaz L was shreddy as usual (Laying down an EPIC solo in "You're Not Alone"). Chris and I felt we played one of our more solid shows together and having grand master Dan Rufolo ..s is always a pleasure - he killed it all night.

We've got our sights on Beantown (Boston for all ya'll living under rocks) - we're going to be playing at Tommy Doyle's again!
It's actually in cambridge, but close enough. I hope to see you all out on Jan 2nd!
