This Game was on.
The Lakers and the Spurs have had such a great rivalery for the past 15 years.  So Many games you can go back to , look back at, and that depends on whether you like the Lakers of the Spurs.  For many playoff series before the Lakers won 3 NBA Titles in a row, the Spurs would beat the Lakers in the Playoffs. The Lakers fans remember game 5 of one series when Nick Van Exel makes a 3 to win it at San Antonio to force another game. Later the Spurs won in LA game 6, and later won 2 NBA Titles of their own.  Both Teams have strong foundations, good management, and the rivalery is still their, and maybe now more than ever.
The Spurs with an All Star starting team with Duncun, and the play of Parker, Ginaboli off the bench , are you kidding me, and former Laker Robert Horry. The Spurs still at the top of their game, while the Lakers are improving each week with a young team, getting better each game.
Wednesday Night , it was the Lakers on the road, "taking it to the Spurs, and get the win by 4.

In the 1st quarter at 8:25, Kobe gets his 2nd foul, and has to come out of the ball game.
Who is going to step it up for the Los Angeles Lakers
Its nervous nice early as the Lakers playing splendid early in the 1st taking the 12-5 lead at 6:33.
Luke Walton makes a fall away.
At 2:45 in the 1st, Toni Parker for the Spurs lights it up, and brings the Spurs back as the Spurs come back .
Spurs take the lead late in the 1st going from 16-22 at 1:20 to 19-25 to end the 1st quarter.
Mo "Minutes" Evans scores on a 360 move, is fouled, and makes the freethrow for the 3 point play. ( M. Evans averagin 11 points a game)19-22.
Ginaboli on the next possession makes a pump fake, and shoots a nice outside shot for 3 to bring the score to 19-25 Spurs after 1.
With Kobe on the Bench and with two fouls, it was key for the Lakers not to lose their cool, nor composure early as the Spurs looked good early, late in the 1st quarter as Parker took over the game after the Lakers led by 7 early in the game.

With the score 34-34, Bynum for the Lakers gets his 3rd foul and goes out of the game..
At 6:22, 34-36, Turiaf for the Lakers drives on Tim Duncun ( Why?), no chance, and the ball rolls off the rim for a miss.

The Spurs are the leagues 22nd in free throw % at 74% having 3 starters at 50%, 60%.

Duncun versus Cook, and Cook has no chance on a drive by Duncun and is fouled score at 38-41. At 42-45, Kobe
Brown " Kobe has body stregnth to make that play, as he's pinned, and Kobe lay s it up.
Kobe Bryant for the Lakers played a tremendous game.

You may have to wait a game or two, or sometimes 3, but that Dunk by Kobe was coming. Would it come in this game?
Toni Parker for the Spurs was spectacular in the first half of this game.
Brown ref to Parker(Spurs): ":he breaks the defenses down, and the ball movement, he makes the 1st pass, others make that second pass for that assists.
Parker for the Spurs scored 25 points in the game.
Turiaf for the Lakers was hussling all game, and makes a hoop on a tip on a Kobe miss, score at 49-53. Kobe Bryant had 17 points in the 2nd quarter, 20 in the 1st half.
For the Lakers, Cook makes 2 hoops. One hoop on a pump fake, and in. Bynum on the next defensive stance gets 2 block shots, ( 1 block , he blocked it to the top of the key, and on the next block it was a challange, inside. ) Bynum had 7 rebounds, 4 blocks at that point and the Lakers tie the game at 53-53.

Lakers/Spurs, a geat basketball game, and an excellent and informative broadcast. Brown knows basketball, has coached, broadcasted games from the 80's, and having that knowledge of the game helps the broadcast tremendously. He is what you call intangibiles, someone that is so valuable to the broadcast. Presently many new broadcasters are coming up in from Collage, and their are many good broadcasters out their all looking for the same jobs. Someday, broadcasters will change from time to time. So important to listen in, and learn while the best of the best are out their still performing, broadcasting, and doing their jobs, because you can learn a lot.
Brown is an awesome basketball color announcer, and still has it broadcasting the Lakers/Spurs, the preparation he had for the game, you wouldn't notice he had to, almost perfect Wednesday Night.
Brown likes the Lakers, or broadcast well for them, especially Kobe, bringing in that excitement.
Brown referring to how to guard Kobe: " You have to double team him on the perimeter, and force him to pass. But Kobe oftentimes splits the doubleteam.
Ref to Smush Parker, ( who was getting schooled or drived on by his counterpart Toni Parker, Parker vs Parker) : "Smush needs a couple of basket to get him going".
I'll Say at 0 points  thats an understatement, 57-57 at 7:30 left in the 3rd quarter.
Then You Get What You waiting for.Your waiting, and your waiting, waiting for the Slam Dunk that was coming from Kobe, but you didn't know when it was coming. It was coming, and when it did.
( it was a kinda of a Slamdunk that Chick Hearn would have said, or chanted 80's style : Slaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam Dunk, by" Kobe", WOW)
Kobe makes a move on Tim Duncun, and elevates high up in the air for the Games Top Play or Slam Dunk, and that changed the Momentum of the game, getting all the Lakers fans at home watching to stand up, and say, Ya, thats what I am talking about".
Kobe was trying to reach Jupiter, and trying not to smile after that Slam dunk in Tim Duncun and the Spurs face.
And the fans got what they were all waiting for, that Slam Dunk with the move, with authority, by Kobe.

Kobe again, on an Alioop from Smush Parker from the top of the key for the Dunk, and the Lakers go up 61-60. Brown refers to how the Lakers were playing thus far " playing well in every category.".
The Spurs were shooting 40% from the 3point line all season, but thus far shot 3-11, and were not being consistant. (Brown)

The game at 63-63, and former Laker , Robert Horry comes into the game. Horry helped the Lakers team win a lot of games as a Lakers, and moving to the Spurs creates more rivalery. Horry made the game winning shot against the Kings with the Lakers having to win that game, and later won their 3rd Title ( wouldn't have had Horry Missed, but He made it from the top of the key after getting the rebound right to him, those were the days)
Now the Lakers have forgotten all about Rober Horry, and this makes the rivalery continue.
Brown mentions Duncums Freethrow percentage and that it is a low 62%, Bowen at 54%. Good foul, Brown:" never give him the lay up, force him to make the foul shots.

The Spurs explode, Horry blocks Radmanovic. Score at 65-71, and Mo Minutes Evans scores a hoop bringing the game to 67-71.
Brown;" He's looking to score, Evans".
Spurs with 14 turnovers, 7 in the 3rd quarter, and Humberto gets a 3 seconds call at 1:09.
Radmanovic for 3, its good, Lakers 70-71 at :52 in the 3rd.
In that sequence, the Lakers made some quick passes, good ball movement, as Radmanovic makes the shot on the corner.
73-71 Lakers, and the Lakers are on an 8-0 run as Kobe Bryant contests Bowens shot, and then makes a shot on the left for his26 point. Kobe was going off in the 3rd quarter at times.
.74-71 and the Lakers had good balance along with Kobe, Radmonovic scoring 13, Evans needing more minutes with the minutes he has with 9, Cook with 6, Turiaf with 2. Turiaf was hussling all game, all the Lakers were.
Kobe Bryant changed his number from #8 to #24.
Presently, Kobe is a Manager/Player.
What exactly is that? Kobe know is more part of the team as he talks to all the team-mates individually , day by day on the performance of the team.
It relieves a lot of stress on Coach Jackson, and at the same time, allows Kobe to connect with the players of his team. It is Kobes team, and with the Coaching staff allowing Kobe to be player/manager, in this situation its is working out.  The Lakers have a lot of young talent, and Kobe does have 3 Rings. Having him as Player/Manager is new to the laegue, although some teams in the past we knew that their were commanders on the basketball court during the key games.
Kobe is unique in that, he's also coaching. I think its a great idea, and He's doing a great job, trying to aid his team reaching Jupiter like he has.

Duncun gets fouled and misses 1 of 2, and its tied at 92. You can hear some boooos in the stands, as their were many Laker fans in attendence.

Those were good times, when Shaq played against Duncun as a Laker, but now Kobe does it all,
He rebounds, he blocks shots, and most of all makes the foulshots
and with 4.4 seconds he is fouled, and makes 2 freethrows to bring the score 100-96, Lakers up by 4 for the icing or game winner, a great game, and a great broadcast.
( broadcasters can learn a lot from Browns commentary, and players can learn a lot from Kobe because he is the best player in basketball, by far.)
