To
anyone who lives in LA, or wants to see an epic Tornado Rider show at
the Whisky A Go Go in LA, we need to sell 50 tickets at $12 each in
order to get payed for this show! So, if you are planning on going to
this show, please buy your tickets from us, they are $2 cheaper than
tickets you would buy at the box office (so tell your friends too). You can buy these tickets by visiting our official website's blog posting " October 16th Whisky A Go Go tickets," where you will find a "buy it now" paypal button. You can purchase your ticket, or tickets, with a debit or credit card using this method. This will put your name on the Whisky A Go Go's guest list, where you will be able to pick up your ticket at the box office the night of the show. Of course, if you are not comfortable with using paypal, you are more than welcome to write us an email at tornadoriderband@gmail.com, and we can work out a snail mail deal for you. Thank you sooooo much, we hope to see you all at the Whisky A Go Go on October 16th, where the wildest night of wild cat rock ever known on the planet earth, and in the land of Sneth, will take place!

Current mood: animated
Greetings all you apple dancers of the north, south, east and west. Just wanted to make a little announcement about our CD, "Do you have time...?". Many of you have messaged us asking, "hey dudes, where can I get one of your radical CDs." Well, I'll tell you, you can get the physical album at CDBaby.com, all you need to do is order it, then they'll mail it to you. We couldn't handle all that business on our own, thankfully other people can do a really good job of it, like CDBaby. CDBaby is also in the process of posting the album on several digital music distributors (you know, napster, itunes, vibes like that). But you're going to have to wait, it's a little bit a process, but you'll know when it happens! "You gotta get yours, it's comin' quick!!!!!!" (or maybe it's goin' quick...) long overdue....

Hello Hello! So, way back in 2008, not that long ago, in December, we embarked on a friendly journey up to the North of California, Humboldt County, and we were warmly welcomed by a band we were splitting a bill with, the Absynth Quintet in this fiercely cold whether. Ru never took his onezie off, he actually looked like a 15 year old boy who had been lost for about 10 years. We were asked to play on a local radio station, KHUM, and it was a most wonderful experience that even got recorded. The DJ had no idea what he was getting into, he thought it was going to be little Rushad playing is acoustic cello in a chair. Instead he was graced by a Marshall Half Stack, Rushad standing and dancing while playing, entertaining, and singing, a huge bass amp, and a lime green sparkle Tama drum kit, that we all squeezed into this tiny studio. It was very loud, in a very small space, we felt very much at home. It was such a fun time, the most relaxed radio station setting ever, it turned into a half hour party in this radio studio. Ru even stripped over the radio waves..... You can check out the recordings of the songs at our reverbnation page, or you can press the play button on the little reverbnation widget after the bio section of the myspace page. Special thanks to Mike for getting these recordings to us so quickly, thanks for a wonderful time Humboldt county!

well its good to have a time to look at things and figure out how lucky we are. i think thanksgiving vibes should get activated once a week. i for one am grateful for so many damn things in the world right now.
i feel like i'm just taking an easy cruise on a vast complex ship all of humanity has built, to ease my time. i dont feel like i could do what they did. "they" are amazing. they got operated on with no anasthesia, they fought in the civil war, they got tortured, they gave birth and gave up everything to make the result happy, they invented golf, and surfing, and made cadillacs and lamborghinis and made crazy games with a million rules and put wires and roads and waves and toasters all over the world, they created such such such beautiful women that make your heart stop, they invented kissing, they made pies, they stole things and killed people and ran countries and volunteered for important jobs lazy people didnt want like policeman, fireman, president, senator, they got the plague, they cured diseases and they so often risked their lives, invading foreign lands to make more way for their people... i mean really, soldiers? soldiers, warriors, knights, whatever, they all went to put their whole selves into a cause much much bigger than them, all the while knowing that the most vicious horrible mangled pain and death and suffering were probable, and just around the corner. how DID they do that? how did they get so brave and fearless? how did they build all those damn highways, and paint all those lines, and build all those cities out of brick, one by one, and invent cranes, and build huge bridges, and fix broken cities after earthquakes, and clean up messes, and build ultra complex pipes and sewage systems, and do SO MUCH to make our lives easy, we have it SO good. SO good. would you rather live as a king in 1390 or live as a regular dude now. NOW! we actually (well lots of us) live like kings. who the hell am i to get such treatment- warm showers every day to just get lost in, the finest smelling soaps of the world, food from every country, watching fancy girls in elaborate regal costumes and delicate makeup, music of every style at the touch of a button, the ability to say something and have it heard in india .1 seconds later...???? the ability to learn, inquire, or research anything i could want, just by pressing a couple buttons, getting to dance around like a jester on stage for a living, getting to drive across this huge beautiful country, i mean dude how lucky are we really. we live in the USA, finest peice of land geographically speaking, in the world. howd we get it? some way brave and maybe scary people risked everything they had to get it for us. who am i to question them? i'm just a tiny little snivveling lightning-weasel, surfing on the giant wave of their hard work. thank you SO much, everyone who works so hard. and, how lucky are we also that we get to like go to the movies every night in our minds?
sleep.

hmmm aargh woof moo. we just played the most exhausting show i've ever played, to a mega packed sold out monterey crowd. hmmm. my vision went black at points, sound cut out of my ears. i could not hold the bow, it was so slippery, had to resort to using a fist, as if i was holding a spear. my hat fell off, and tons of sweat from north started burning my eyes. i yelled at the top of my lungs the whole time, and absolutely faded myself completely while dancing. its not easy playing for 3 hours! but it is, really SUCH an honor and i feel real lucky we get to do that as our work. its lucky in this time of such wildness and chaos everywhere that we get to stand up there on a stage for a living, and try to make people happy. thank you, the world. how nice.

well now,
the tornado rider has lassooed himself a band!!!! after playing solo for awhile, he realized he needed to fully rock, so he found the following containers of magic:
Scott Manke will be playing the drums. he is a master of everything, and he makes all kinds of weird brilliant instruments and contraptions too. see www.mankecrafts.com
Graham Terry will be playing the electric bass. he is a friendly bunny, and one of the smartest guys around.
many new things will come of this. first that we'll be playing around the SF bay area alot coming up, and trying to be on the rise, "as if fresh off a catapult"!
lots of new songs. rock and roll. wwwwwwwwwwwww. powerful friendly man chorus.
