Current mood:  hopeful

Recording is an incredible experience.  You get to hear your creation come to life.  You can sit there and hit replay a thousand times and hear what you like and don't like.  You can add things or take them out and really feel the song in its best sounding form.  We are currently recording our first album at Mission Sound Studios in Brooklyn NY. ( All American rejects, Taking Back sunday) with producer Jon Kaplan and engineer/owner Oliver Strauss.  We were fortunate enough to have been matched up with Jon through our phenomenal managent and its been a pleasure.  Jon is fun and very positive.  Its vital to have someone that understands your music and can help take it to the next level.  Jon did just that and the results so far are incredible.  I can honestly say that our new music will blow you away and we are proud.  It is big, and it is real.  We have a song called "1942" about the trials of a WWII soldier.  We want people to take this song and relate it to today's war. The reason it is written in the WWII setting is because the nation was not divided then.  It was about Victory, Honor, Love and perseverence and that is what "1942" is about.  Its about fighting for what you believe in and holding onto hope even when you are in the most daunting setting and scariest time.  Hopefully this song can help put things in perspective even just for a moment.  All of our songs are sincere and come from what we see, how we feel or what we've done. We also have a new "Summer Song" and it turned out amazing.  Better than ever before!

We will let you know as soon as we get them up on our page.

Hey Everyone,

Being the newest member of Chasing Daybreak, I would just like to take a moment and say that it’s been a pleasure meeting all of the fans from the past and the new fans we’ve made over the past seven or eight months. I can hardly wait for you to all hear these new songs we’ve been recording with producer Jon Kaplan. I really feel like we’ve written some killer songs that you are going to love.  Jon, as a producer has really helped us take Chasing Daybreak to a new level. Denis and I recently tracked guitars down at Mission Sound, (www.missionsoundrecording.com) for two new songs, "Running Out of Time" and an "Untitled" song.  During the recording we tried to get a much more wide open rock sound, something a little different than the usual sounds we go for. I also laid down some talk box on "Running Out of Time" ...... sounds pretty cool.

Can’t wait to share them with the world!

Dan

Hey everyone,

This is steve from the band. I just wanted to let everyone know what we have been up to lately. We are working hard to bring out the best in the songs we will be recording this month. just yesterday we had a pre production rehearsal in New York with our Producer Jon Kaplan. It went great and we are very excited for you guys to hear what we have come up with. We think You will like the new songs alot. The songs we will be recording right now are titled "1942" and " truth hurts" We will also be recording one more that we have to decide on, and possibly a fourth, so check back soon for those.

We have been playing shows in the city just about every week, so if you live in or near New york, you should come check us out. we will be at the Lit Lounge this tuesday the 8th. The show starts at 8:00. It is unfortunately 21 and older so if you can't make it because of that, come to the next one.

Well, I am off to rehearse. I will post some more updates soon. thanks for all of your support.
