WOW!  I'm a daddy!!

Evan Xavier Clayton was born 12/19 @ 10:33PM CT, 7lbs, 20" long, and a head full of hair!  Within minutes of being born, his eyes were wide open and he was looking around trying to see everything he could.  It was so cool being able to sit there next to him while he was in the warmer, the two of us just staring at each other.

And Tiana... she was the ultimate trooper throughout 16 hours of labor and 30 minutes putting the very last of her strength into pushing.  God really strengthened her to be able to deliver him.  It was amazing to see her put her all into it like that, even when she thought she had nothing left in her.

We brought him home Friday afternoon, and we've been off and running ever since.  We're adjusting to him, and he's adjusting to us and life on the outside.  I've become a master of "swaddling" and making sure to change my share of diapers (yes, even the messy ones, lol).  Even when I'm dead tired after work, it's kinda like I get a burst of energy when I get home and see my wife and child, and to take him for a while to give wifey a rest.  Instead of taking turns getting up in the middle of the night, we both temd to get up and put a little teamwork into taking care of him... although she lets me sleep sometimes if I don't get up so I can be rested for work.

We're getting the hang of this, and really enjoying it!
