Why are women in memphis so, what's the word...I don't know.  Anyway,my org has been in memphis for over three years now, and we have yet to run into women who want to make a difference in our community.  Most of these women only want to party, date around, etc., but nobody wants to do community service or initiate changes in and around the community.  Where are the educated women who want to bridge the gap in the community; where the selfless women who want to give back to the community both physically and financially; where are the women that want to educate our LGBT youth and be positive role models to them instead of watching them fight in the clubs every weekend...Ladies, where are you?!  We complain everyday about this and that - we can't get married legally in the state of TN; there are no laws to protect us from being discriminated against because of our sexuality; there are no mature clubs where people can just come out and have a good time without the added stress of BS; but what are you doing to change that?  I see very few women out there, especially in the Black LGBT community who are trying to make a difference.  Sorry to say, but it's true.  While we're volunteering at the MGLCC, for FFL, or any of the other non-profits that we volunteer for, you're all out there trying to decide what to wear to the club, why some psycho girl doesn't want you(or being that psycho girl), listening to and creating rumors about the people who you don't like, and other crap that isn't going to make a bit of difference in the long run.  A wonderful organization was created to bring lesbian and bisexual women together to form a sisterhood and bond with each other and to serve the community.  Yet women are so busy fighting amongst each other that they can't even see what's going on around them.  When they see us, they hate us, yet they know nothing about us except what they have heard.  ladies, let's stop fighting eachother and come together to make a real difference in our city/state/country, etc.  Offended? I certainly hope so... That's all.
