Hot off their heels of a recent appearance at a packed house for the Rok Lok 10 Year Anniversary Fest at the Knitting Factory, Long Island noisemakers YES SENSEI are pleased to announce the details surrounding the myriad of new releases they have coming out before the New Year touches down. First up is a 7 inch called 3 songs which will be released by Rok Lok Records and UK based Russian Folk Stories. You can preview the track "Don't Fear the Riffer" from the forthcoming release at the band's myspace page. In addition to 3 songs YES SENSEI will be releasing two songs on a split 7 inch with friends CMR as well contributing an exclusive track to an upcoming Dead Broke Rekerdz compilation. As the releases start to come out, YES SENSEI will have begun to pen material for a fourth full length album.

Formed in 2000, YES SENSEI has made their mark on  the DIY underground with  a sound that mixes together the jarring post punk of Unwound, the tonal trickery guitar rock of Sonic Youth, the rhythmic mayhem of The Jesus Lizard  with  the bouncy hardcore of The Minutemen. YES SENSEI has released three full length albums- What I Do Best is What I Do Worst (2002),We Who Transplant Sustain (2004), and s/t (2007) all  of which were released on Rok Lok Records.

Hey Everyone!

Finally, three years in the making the new Yes Sensei album is about to hit streets as it will officially be out next week. Over the course of writing this record we went through a bunch of line up changes and dealt with a lot of personal problems. Real life sometimes get in the way of doing the things you love but it will never take away our desire to create music together, somehow we always find a way. And also to be fair we took a fair time experimenting in studio to cultivate what we feel is the most complete Yes Sensei recording to date. We are all extremely proud of this record and want to thank everyone who has supported us over the years especially when it has seemed like we were dead. It means the world to us. We urge everyone to please head over to www.roklokrecords.com and preorder our new cd. All preorders come with a silkscreened t-shirt

There is also a cd release show set for Sunday December 16th at Roadrunners. It will be an all ages affair. Our friends Smalls Arms Dealer,  Slingshot Dakota, and Suicide Fix will be joining us. Check the show listings for details.

What's next for Yes Sensei? Well already five new songs completely done and we are finalizing another two before we go back into the studio in December to record material for a split 7" with We Meet Under Tables as well as a one sided 12". Plus we'll be playing a bunch of shows locally and regionally to support the new releases.
