It has been quite awhile since we have posted an update so here it is. Eclipse Eternal is currently in writing mode. We have 5 songs written and are working on another 2. Current songtitles are: Deathbound, The Essence of Hopelessness, Ancient Voices on the wind, Death Obsession, Ode to a time long gone. We are looking to go into the studio sometime in early Fall to record our next as-of-yet untitled LP. To give an idea of what our new material will sound like we will be preforming one song at each of the upcoming shows (Mayhem on June 14th at the Opera House in Toronto and Absu on June 18th at the Annex Wreckroom in Toronto) and we will be performing all 5 new songs at a special show on July 11th at the Annex Wreckroom. This July 11th show will also feature a performance where we will have a guest guitarist play 2 songs with us and possibly have a guest join in on vocals for one older song. For those not able to make it to these shows I will say that our new album takes what we thought was our best moments in "Ubermensch..." and added some new dimensions to them.
These new dimensions come from a few things:
Lord Abaddon has in recent months gained a huge appreciation for Windir, Dissection and V:28 and these influences can definately be felt in the music he writes
Orcus has stepped up and increased his contributions to the writing of the new songs and his added influences will definately be felt thoughout.
I have decided that life is shit and useless and that people in general deserve nothing but scorn and a slow and horrible death. My "hope" that some people can rise above the shit and become something more has proven to be ideals to high for the disgusting shit we call humanity to understand. I have opened my eyes and seen the pathetic weakness that we are made of and this has become the focus of the new albums lyrics.
Till me meet in battle keep the flames burning always.

Eclipse Eternal has been a force in this cosmic debris since the fall of 1999. Created by vocalist Voldamares, Eclipse Eternal quickly grew and branched out to envelope various other similar minded individuals. First came guitarist Alasydrs Kilgour. The two wrote, collaborated and incorporated numerous Satanic rites into aural chaos that was formed into a cohesive music format. After many seasons and numerous lineup changes, including Alasydrs own departure, Eclipse Eternal finally bared fruit in the summer of 2004 with the lineup of Voldamares on Vocals, Lord Abaddon on Guitars, Bass and Keys and Wulfgar on drums. The resulting album was a much different format than what was originally aimed at. It turned out to be a symphonic Black Metal album of anti-biblical proportions. Co-Produced by Glen Drover (Ex-King Diamond/Megadeth/Eidolon ) and recorded at Glens own Eclipse Studios, the album was well received in the scene and a landmark for the band. The album was aptly titled "Reign Of The Unholy Blackened Empire" and was released in the spring of 2005 in North America on Galy Records. After fifety plus shows promoting the album including opening slots for such bands as Dimmu Borgir, Enslaved, Behemoth and Dark Funeral, Eclipse Eternal set about remaking itself once again. And from the ashes of the old a new beast shall rise. With an expanded line-up including Trozambach (now named Carver) ..boards and Rose Sodomy on bass, the band set about recording their most challenging album to date. "Ubermensch: Evolution Beyond The Species" was the result. Recorded during the spring of 2007 the album was mixed in Sweden by Fredrik Nordstrom in Studio Fredman (Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Zyclon) and released indenendantly in March of 2008. It is a both a tribute to Nietzsche and to the strength of character that is created by destruction. Having grown in both wisdom and inner strength this album is set to open many eyes and expand many minds. To accompany the album, Dark Frame Pictures, have created the first Eclipse Eternal video for the song "The Dragon Has Come To Blot Out The Stars". Shot by high definition director Adrian Kent over four cold Canadian winter days it is a show of deadication and shear will that the 7 minute long video came into being. Now with the addition of new bassist Orcus, replacing Rose Sodomy, Eclipse Eternal prepares to once again take to the stage and show the world what it represents. Eclipse Eternal is not typical stagnating Black Metal, it is a forward thinking hammer to the face of all preconceptions. With one foot firmly planted in Black Metals idealogical roots Eclipse Eternal marches relentlessly forward into the abyss of the mind always attempting to create something new and unique. Hail the new age.
