January 4, 2008 - Friday

Xanadu's Kerry Butler, Cheyenne Jackson, Jackie Hoffman, and Mary Testa will weave their "Strange Magic" at the Lincoln Triangle Barnes and Noble Jan. 10, 2008.

As part of the "Live at Lincoln" series at Barnes and Noble, the entire company of Xanadu – including actor Tony Roberts and book writer Douglas Carter Beane – will appear and sign copies of the cast recording, recently released on the PS Classics label.

At 5:30 PM Butler, Jackson, Hoffman and Testa are scheduled to perform "Suddenly," "Evil Woman" and the title song from the Broadway production. They will be joined by the entire Xanadu company.

The complete track listing for Xanadu includes:
"I'm Alive"
"Magic"
"Evil Woman"
"Suddenly"
"Whenever You're Away From Me"
"Dancin'"
"Strange Magic"
"All Over the World"
"Don't Walk Away"
"Fool"
"The Fall"
"Suspended in Time"
"Have You Never Been Mellow?"
"Xanadu"

The Xanadu recording boasts a 24-page full-color booklet with an essay and synopsis penned by the show's librettist, Beane.

Xanadu, the new musical based on the 1980 Universal Pictures film of the same name, officially opened at the Helen Hayes Theatre July 10. The production utilizes songs from John Farrar and Jeff Lynne's film sound track. According to press notes, Xanadu "tells the story of one of the nine muses of ancient Greece who comes to earth to inspire the greatest of artistic achievements – a roller disco. Along the way she falls in love, bumps into an old acquaintance and for the first time, feels the desire to create herself."

The Barnes and Noble at Lincoln Triangle is located at 1972 Broadway at 66th Street in Manhattan. For further information call (212) 595-6859 or visit www.bn.com.
