Hi, Please have a look at the photos of our recent free vegan food fayre in our albums. The fayre was a great success we had a couple of hundred people through the door in total throughout the day. Lots of tasty food was consumed and plenty of vegan/a.r literature was taken and money collected by the campaign stalls. Everyone had a really great time and we recieved many complimentry remarks from people about the food and atmosphere. Out of the all questionares we recieved back from people, only 2 commented that after visting they wouldn't be changing their diet at all to being a meat reducer, being a veggie or going vegan. So in all we made a great impact and opened a lot of peoples eyes to how easy and great it is to lead a cruelty-free lifestlye. We aim to make the Sheffield fayre an annual event from now on, so if you've been inspired by the report and pictures, please get in touch to see how you can get involved with our campaigns to get the message out there and to make the fayres bigger and better in the future! Have a great festive season and cruelty-free new year! SAF

Hi all, As of Thursday just gone a new social centre in Sheffield has opened it's doors at Pisgah House, Pisgah House Road, Broomhill, Sheffield S10 5BJ. The social centre is a non-hierarchical, anti-capitalist space based on a number of core principles which reflect the world its organisers want to see: co-operation and mutual aid, openness and inclusion, voluntary participation and shared responsibility. With the aim of bringing people together in an environment where discrimination of any kind is challenged in order to create as inclusive a place as possible..
Have a look on www.sheffieldsocialcentre.org.uk for the full programme of workshops, discussions and other varied events including a film showing on animal rights and discussion about campaigning by Sheffield Animal Friends this Thursday, with vegan food from 6pm followed by the film and discussion at 7pm. Then at 1pm - 4pm on Sunday 11th there will be an introduction to sabbing by a local member of the Hunt Saboteurs Association. So please come along to these events or to the social centre at any time to check the place out and get involved, the space is as much yours as anyone elses, so make the most of it!

The "Wolfwalk" dog walk is on Sunday 4th October in Rother Valley Country Park, people will be gathering at the main visitor centre (look out for the big paw print flag!) between 9.30 and 9.45am to start the walk at 10am which will last approx There is no registration fee and no minimum sponsorship requirement, you just raise as much as you can to help the sanctuary :-) The details are on the website: www.wolfwalk.org.uk. People can register on the website or give Jess a call on 01914204052 and she'll send you a registration pack. So if you have a four legged friend or know of someone who has, that you think would like to be involved please let them know!! Cheers, SAF
