A sunlit beach of sparkling white sand provides a wonderful setting for the delicate negotiations taking place in the large gazebo. Seated around the table enjoying cool beverages is a well-groomed young man a startlingly pretty warrior maiden with russet brown wings folded behind her back, a grubby-looking dwarf with an eyepatch and leather apron, and a beautiful wizardess wearing a conservative business dress. Standing guard over the proceedings is an ogre-sized man rippling with muscles and sporting four arms.
The woman clears her throat and her green eyes practically sparkles with intensity, 'Skip, Filia, and Belos. Today I have asked you to gather for my wildest scheme yet. I want to create a bank. Some place to pool my funds and make me more money. Skip is present since he is my heir. Filia is here to represent Darkworlde interests since I want Gildor to run my bank. Lastly Belos has come to act as my advocate in non-human and divine matters such as the city of Atlantis.
Filia's blonde hair stirs mildly in the refreshing breeze coming in off the ocean, 'The stability of our world has strengthened considerably since Gildor has taken up permanent residence in Darkworlde. It has carefully been debated by the gods whether to allow him to come back or not. The majority agree with two conditions. The first condition is that you must establish a branch of your bank on Darkworlde. We have great need of a functioning peaceful economy. The second condition is once a month the Great Barrier will be opened at your trading center on the mainland.'
'I, Alannah Drakkenblyde hereby agree to your terms. What about you Belos?' The woman smiles at the dwarf like a cat holding a mouse quivering in its paws.
Belos stares back at Alannah knowing full well he is getting stuck with a bad deal. He puts on a forced smile and reluctantly drawls out his response, 'You asked me to forge an artifact that will allow your plans to come to fruition. I was not completely successful. nothing can ward off an angry diety but if Gildor come into proximity with a hostile planeswalker the device will teleport him some distance away.'
Alannah chuckles dryly, 'Can you make it work? The Riftstone is difficult to control.'
Belos looks at her unhappily, 'Here is the artifact. It will work. I promise.' He hands over a golden chain necklace with an empty setting for a very large stone.
Alannah places a polished blue stone in the setting and the whole necklace begins to glow faintly. 'I will have the shipment of adamantium sent to your forge once this meeting is concluded.' She smiles at him knowing she has the upper hand...
The wizardess Alannah is a powerful sorceress bent on amassing money and power. Her influence touches on many worlds and she enjoys every minute of it. She dwells on the Isle of Wonder which is a lush tropical paradise. Her Isle is difficult to reach and cloaked in illusion...

Book Review: Son of the Great River written by Elijah Meeks

Review by: Bradley Simpson, Author of Dreamsbane of Tamalor

This is an enjoyable tale that reminds me of a quaint mixture of Pocahontas, White Fang and the Horseclans Saga. Plenty of primitive splendor comingled with an epic adventure rich in people and interesting places. I cracked open this novelette with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. The story has some excellent illustrations to aid in the spinning of this yarn. In conclusion I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in some light reading. =)

Hmm, been a while since I posted a blog. Here it goes. Coale has outgrown his crib and does not want to sleep in his toddler bed. Kind of cold outside still. Make things difficult. Still job searching in this crappy workplace market right now. My latest Magic the Gathering article is up at cardshark. Work on Orcish Dreams is slow at best but I am doing it. Not much else going on. A homebound stay-at-home daddy making the best of things. =)

A sordid fantasy tale that plumbs the depths of the human spirit. This dark tale is unrelenting as a small kingdom faces danger and invasion from all sides. Kierce is no innocent Gandalf nice and benign. He is cruel and filled with selfish ambitions. Caras has a good heart but faces situations beyond comprehension. These two pivotal characters strive to bring hope to the kingdom of Shehaios and succeed only at great cost.
I recommend this story to those who enjoy a tale laced with tragedy and broken dreams. This is not a fantasy for the faint of heart. =)

Well now.. my new job is okay, but I need something more steady than 2 days a week. I also was annoyed to discover my publisher changed the main link to my book without notifying me. I know they want to get paid so I don't understand what their problem is. Anywho:

More updates as they come along. Life rolls and I am trying to shop around for a printer for my orcish dreams story. =)

Lets see now. Today I am trying out a new way to market my book on something called the pingomatic.com site. Suppose to bring my blog up on various search engines or something. =) Coale is 18 months old now, and I found my digital camera. Hopefully I can upload some more soonish. Still writing some, but I am doing a lot of work on goodreads.com. That's all for today, except to thank Marvin for a new possible marketing tool. =)
