Current mood: optimistic
Hi everyone,
I don't usually post blogs here but I haven't spoken to many of you in a few weeks and I wanted to let you know what is going on.
My dad was recently daignosed with cancer. He had some in his colon that they removed last week. The surgery went well and he is recovering at home now. He spent two weeks in the hospital and that was no walk in the park but now he is at home resting and doing fine.
But of course we couldn't get off that easy - he also has some cancer in his liver and lungs. He will be starting chemo treatments in a few weeks to take care of that. He is scheduled to have chemo for 6 months. We have every reason to believe the chemo will work and he can get on with his life and get back to normal soon.
He is a positive person and has kept his head up high through all of this and for that, I am proud. He is a wonderful man and I look up to him so much. We have a long road ahead of us as a family but I know we will pull through just fine.
So thats the breaks, kids. Let this be a lesson to you - don't waste the time you have here with your family and friends - you never know what might be waiting around the corner for you or a loved one.
