*joesepi* band photos

After a friendly little get-together involving homemade vegetarian pizza and beer/caucasians, us boys and Nicole, my lovely girlfriend, set out to get us some promo photos.

We started inside and took a bunch in our dining room, but soon we found ourselves outside in Loyola Park right behind our apartment. We're freezing our asses off: with the long shutter and a cold shudder, it was hard to keep us in focus and focused. Mike insisited on running off every few minutes - like seriously bolting in one direction or another. The first time, he went straight for Lake Michigan; thought he was going to come back all wet.

The beach photos look like we are on the moon. The lighting in all of them is quite cool (hot?). These are untouched and are not adjusted in any way yet (ie. color, cropping, etc.), we just thought we would throw them up and sit with em for a while and see which one is best. If you have any favorites, write a comment.

One bloody shirtI compressed these last night. I was trying out some options (Cleaner, QT, Compressor) and I ended up compressing files for my iPod. I think in the future, I may do a couple different options for each file - one for iPod, one for YouTube (upto 100mb!), and one for archive. Anyway, these are a little overcompressed considering YouTube's max size being so large.

Found ..1Just found out we have been featured in Found Magazine News. We finally got a good (great, even) mix of Dear Jessica and they threw it up on their site. In case you dont know, the song was written for Found Magazine, so this day was not a surprise -- just a long time in the making.

Thanks to Jason and Davy and the whole Found crew, even the dirty ones.

Blurred Rock RulesHey People's, I put up the photos from the last show at the Note. Once again, our good friend, Rana, took this shots. And there are pics of two of the other three bands as well (sorry, Grackles - we were there, but the camera ran out of batteries).

You can also find these photos and more at Flickr and Google's Picasa.

More news coming as I am compressing some video from the Devil's Show and some other things are bubbling in the tank.

joesepi at the Note with The GracklesWe are playing with The Grackles, Lynyrd's Innards, and Lost Armada at The Note on Friday, Jan 5th, an MPshows event. I believe it is the Grackles CD release and we are thrilled to be a part of it. Gonna be great.

And while we are on the topic of shows.... our next show should be in March. I am looking to put together a Silkworm Tribute Show to go along with the Silkworm Tribute Record. I believe *joesepi* and Century Rocket Building will be sharing one of the 8 abbreviated slots.

I dont know if I have mentioned this (check the archives, *hole!), but I have updated the Sessions page. There are new 'rough mixes' of all the songs. The previous mixes were very old and the new ones include contributions from such friends as: MTAR, James Olsen, Antoine, and more. Plus, the latest mix from Dear Jessica is there.

Enjoy!

Reelsounds' Angela is hotFirst off, we have been working on a new Bearhawk record which has had several names associated with it (Softhawk, Softshell, Gentle Bear) but I think the album may be tentatively entitled, Killer Wails. This recording has taken a new form for the Hawk, with D going in and recording a bunch of songs and filling it out from there. For this recording, Mouse is playing drums (and recording/mixing); Jim is playing bass, Jon and I are playing guitar and we have had a few guest appearances on other instruments. We have recently made some rough, but almost final mixes and I have posted two (Archae Bacteria and Old Hotel) to the Bearhawk MySpace page. And speaking of the Bearhawk MySpace page, I have also filled it out a bit with some photos of members, contributors and friends.

Promo boys - CRBSecondly, Century Rocket Building has been working on some recordings when we find the time between other projects, parties and the usual family/life stuff. I just put down a bunch of guitar the night before last up at Reelsounds and we are getting excited about the progress. I still need to do some guitar housecleaning over there and also add some vox, but from there we will probably sit with some rough mixes and start to flesh out some ideas to make these already great songs even better. Some sounds will be posted forthcoming. (Oh yeah, and I have posted a recent photo shoot we did trying to get a promo shot together.)

And as previously mentioned, we have a new mix for Dear Jessica from the *joesepi* rock band and we are hoping to continue putting parts down and wrapping up these sessions before the end of the year.
