Dearest Internet A few weeks ago Art Brut were kindly invited to record a few special tracks for a puppet on Artrocker TV. The results were good for Art Brut, not so good for the puppet. Come listen and watch a final, finished version of 'Modern Art', a Motley Crue style 'Slap Dash for No Cash' and a track not on any album, never before heard, 'Moved to LA' (it's a sequel). There's also some photos of the showdown here. Enjoy. Barnaby Fudge

Dearest Internet For as long as there has been rags there have been the gentlemen of the road. The domestically indecisive. The transient, the hobo, the boho, the tramp, the gypsy, the hippy. We are told to shun these sub sects. Without your foundations firmly planted in the earth you less of a human, more a tumble weed. Or what appears to be a tumble weed but is in fact a collection of crisp packets.Well, if we hate this perpetual diaspora then we must also hate our beloved Art Brut for they too have had no home. For years, the airport lounge, the railway carriage, the Travelodge lobby, the slow boat to Amsterdam were the only spots they could rest their worn, dusty boots. But no more... The road is no longer their home, the sea no longer their mistress. On the upcoming excursion to the New World, a select few cities will see our gentlemen and lady board themselves in at their venue of choosing and play each night, a little like a house band... but not. Expect surprises, covers and possibly even a kitchen as Art Brut build a house and invite you to stay. Who's house!? yours restlessly Barnaby Fudge

Dearest Internet Direct your face to here. A few weeks ago, Eddie Argos foolishly attempted to give up the sauce and thank your publican god that our lovely documentary friends were there to capture every terribly sober second of it. Don't forget to tip your bar tender. Kind regards Barnaby Fudge Pressed to Kill 'ALCOHOLICS UNANIMOUS' OUT APRIL 6TH

Dearest Internet As the Art Brut press machine chomps at the bit, gunning the engine waiting for the lights to flash green, here are a two warning shots across your bow -
1) Art Brut will be featuring on ''Pictures of You', a collection of Cure covers celebrating the NME decision to bestow the Godlike Genius award upon Smith & Co.'s sterling shoulders. Our Brutites have brought their own re imagining to the classic 'Catch'. This shower of brilliance will be the NME cover mount CD to be picked up from any reputable news vendor February 25th. 2) Whilst on the subject of Brutish covers, here's a doozy. A while back Glasgow ABC2 bore witness to a collaboration of epic proportion. Art Brut, after a maelstrom set, were joined on stage by none other than ex-Strangler, Hugh Cornwell. The whole thing was catured by camera and will now be broadcast on Channel 4 Friday 20th March as part of the JD Set Presents series. Here's a press release -
THE JD SET RETURNS TO FRIDAY NIGHTS ON CHANNEL 4
From February 2009, Channel 4’s Friday night output will once again rock out to the sounds of The JD Set, a series of one-off gigs partnering a line up of hot new bands with Ex Stranglers front-man Hugh Cornwell. Over the next two weeks you can catch Fox Cubs (Feb 20th) and Les Gars (Feb 27th) both tear up the stage and Belfast’s finest music emporium Spring & Airbrake. Music fans can look forward more awesome live performances from:
· Fri 20th Feb Fox Cubs, Spring & Airbrake, Belfast (Tx 01.10am)
· Fri 27th Feb Les Gars, Spring & Airbrake, Belfast (Tx 01.10 am)
· Fri 6th Mar Sam Isaac, The Cluny, Newcastle
· Fri 13th Mar Paddingtons, Spring & Airbrake, Belfast
· Fri 20th Mar Art Brut, ABC2, Glasgow
Each episode shows the band perform two tracks plus their exciting collaboration with punk legend Cornwell. Russ Tanen, the upcoming Channel 4 presenter, interviews the artists as they come off stage and provides all the behind the scenes antics. Filmed in black and white, the fifteen minute shows are bursts of musical energy capturing the UK’s most talented new artists live in action.
The JD Set began life in 2002 and have since established the reputation for delivering the buzz bands du jour. During its six-year history, The JD Set has played host to artists such as The Wombats, Foals, CSS, Kate Nash, Futureheads, and Foals. The JD Set celebrates Jack Daniel’s long-standing association and support of music, which goes way back to the man himself Jack Daniel. In 1892 he formed the Silver Cornet Band, a group of distillery workers and townsfolk.
You can view more audio, video and photography from the November JD Set Tour at www.thejdset.co.uk . Check the website for news announcements on the two forthcoming tours in March and May 2009. Know when to unplug. Please drink Jack Daniel’s responsibly.
Get involved. Barnaby Fudge

Dearest Internet
As you are only too aware, in yours the oldest, if not noblest of professions, one thing does indeed lead to another. Thus, as the news of albums and singles filter through the lime into Barnaby's lap, I can now happily confirm the Brut will be presently embarking on a small trippet in the months of April and May. Plus, the people of Sheffield will be gratified to learn they can get a mouthful just a little bit earlier at their wonderful Fuzz Club. Pick up the telephone, penetrate the websites, remind your suitors: Now is the time to act! Happy hunting. This, however, is just a taster, something to moisten the pallet. So do not despair my European and American cousins you will get yours soon enough. This, my love, is just the tip of a Brutiful iceberg. Stay informed.

Dearest Internet
Here in the bowels of AB Central we sit, shuddering over our electric word mats, dragging our gnarled digits over our frozen keypads in order to ensure all things Art Brut are pumped into your multiplying, swollen peep bags.
However, staff are occasionally permitted a glance through the iron grating and given a rare taste of the world above. This was a pleasure recently bestowed upon myself. After passing out several times due to the clarity of air and falling on occasions due to my vitamin starved limbs, I managed to glean a great many things from your green planet. Not least, in the Upper World ther is not, as here, a perpetual, frozen darkness. There is a ’summer’. A short period of warmth and frivolity. A time when people may gather, drink and lie, strewn across the pastures of middle England.
For those who revel in this previously unknown nirvana, it looks like things are finally taking a turn for the better... Please cast a glance below.
yours chillingly

ART BRUT AT 2000TREES!!
Following it’s nomination for "Best New Festival 07", 2000trees will return bigger and better than ever on July 11th and 12th 2008; and after the recent line up announcement it’s looking like a veritable feast for both indie kids and rockers alike!
The 2000trees organisers were very excited to announce Art Brut as the Saturday night headliner joining the likes of Reuben, Frank Turner, The King Blues, Future of the Left, Imperial Leisure and The Ghost of a Thousand on a bill that is as eclectic as it is exciting. Festival organiser James Scarlett said "The most important thing for us is that 2000trees has amazing live acts; and from that respect Art Brut were always going to be the band that we wanted to headline our Saturday night. They’ve recently been named by Spin magazine as one of the top 15 live bands in the world, so it’s fair to say that we are pretty chuffed to have them on the bill!".
James went on further: "For me 2000trees is about achieving a friendly and intimate festival experience and was conceived as a reaction to the huge corporate sponsored and impersonal festivals that routinely cram you in like sardines and proceed to rip you off at every opportunity! It may sound cheesy but we want to create something special and something different for UK music fans."
Sounds good to us! See you in a sunny field in July...
