...back-in-the-day i ran a weekly at 23west called `Charged' for half a year (circa 2000) with a similar intention; but the community as it was, was too small to sustain it. now in 06 the interconnectedness has expanded--the network of conscious people who also love to be connected on the dancefloor has grown so much. So, time to try again, with some further evolution of the concept. Plus bonus, electronic music itself has evolved to encompass a truly wide expanse and range of dopeness, so many juicy permutations...

as for self, it was a pleasure to bring back the progressive vibration after not playing it out for almost a year. with all respects, i am one who can no longer listen to psy-trance--and yet many of my most amazing dancefloor experiences have been to psy-trance... i like progressive for how it can fulfill that same tribal ritual feeling, while more freely spanning the spectrum between trance, tribal, house and breaks. (of course there's still the mountain of schlock & cheeze to wade through searching for those gems of substance, but that's part of the fun of a dj's job...
