 Kilimanjaro Rocks!

 Kilimanjaro Rocks…our latest musical journey to the roof of Africa.
On September 27, 2009, 26 musicians, cancer survivors and supporters will embark upon another symbolic pilgrimage to Uhuru, the 19,341ft peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. We will do so in order to bring love, hope and strength to the people of East Africa. Funds from “Kilimanjaro Rocks” will be used to support the main cancer center in East Africa, located in Nairobi, Kenya.
Starting September 27, you will be able to follow our journey to the top of the world’s largest free-standing mountain. We will carry with us the names of nearly 6,000 friends and family of Love Hope Strength whom have lost, won, or are currently battling the world’s leading killer.
Please take a moment to meet our team and check back with us as we bring global cancer care to new heights.

Everyone deserves their “Rocky(TM)” moment…
You stand with your fists pumping in the air,
knowing that you can overcome anything,
knowing that nothing can stand in your way,
knowing that for this moment…
…“I can’t be beat, and I won’t be beat!” ~Rocky BalboaNo one deserves that moment more than those of us who have been touched by cancer. Please join us as we symbolically retrace the final leg of Rocky Balboa’s (TM) famous run through the streets of Philly as we ascend the “Rocky Stairs” at the Philadelphia Art Museum led by 2-time Leukemia survivor and lead singer of The Alarm, Mike Peters, and other celebrity guests and musicians. Help us carry the prayer flags that are traveling the world bearing 5,000+ names of cancer survivors, patients and those who have lost their battle. We will lift them high for one last time in the United States before they depart to the top of Kilimanjaro in Africa.  Sign the Prayer Flags.

August 31st.James Chippendale and Mike Peters have been nominated for an amazing grant from NAU. NAU is an organization that promotes positive change that is at the core of who we are and what we do. It influences the design of our product, our model for business, and how we interact with each other and the world. In the end of the nomination process, one person/organization will receive a $10,000 grant to help move his or her efforts forward. In the process leading up to the gift of the grant, hundreds of voices will be heard, and they’ll be shared and strengthened by the power of thousands. We ask you to please help us help the world!! Join 100 musicians, cancer survivors and supporters as we hike Pikes Peak, “America’s Mountain”. The most visited mountain in North America and the second most visited mountain in the world behind Japan’s Mount Fuji, Pikes Peak forms a stunning backdrop for Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods. At an altitude of 14,110 feet above sea level, Pikes Peak is the 31st highest peak out of 54 Colorado peaks and offers the greatest base-to-summit elevation gain in the state: 7,400 feet. About 15,000 people a year attempt to climb Pikes Peak on foot. 100 lucky participants will be part of this historical journey.By 2010, cancer will be the world’s leading killer taking more lives than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. The Love Hope Strength Foundation is an international, music-centric cancer charity dedicated to providing support for cancer centers and inspiration to those affected throughout the world. Having performed concerts on 5 continents in just one year’s time, we are providing critical funding and awareness for cancer centers worldwide. The mission is to save lives, right now, with the advances that have already been made in cancer care. We are traveling the globe to remote venues such as the base camp of Everest, the top of The Empire State Building, the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, the summit of Kilimanjaro and now…Pikes Peak, reaching out through the universal language of music to purchase life saving equipment, spread awareness, promote early detection, and register people to the international marrow database so that people, like founder James Chippendale himself, can find the match that will save their lives.Join us as we bring our  message home to Colorado with Pikes Peak Rocks! Red Rocks Ampitheatre Drives Announced
