I just changed my page a bit and my blogs can finally be viewed again!! =) (Thank you Sargent's Layouts!)
 
I wanted to give a little Choo Choo Soul Update, and let you know about our train having a little more steam!
In summer of 2008, Disney Records released a Choo Choo Soul CD/DVD on amazon.com. The CD/DVD is now available in Target stores nationwide and online at target.com. We are so proud of the product, and so happy to finally have something to sell at our shows as well, for our friends to take home a little bit of our disney magic.
Also in summer of 2008, the "Disney Music Block Party Tour"traveled across the East coast and was our first major tour! Our friends The Imagination Movers, Dan Zanes & Friends, Ralphs World, and They Might Be Giants hit the stage at this block-party inspired music fest. We were all able to perform the songs that we contributed to the "Disney Block Party" CD (available on amazon.com). We had a blast. I also got the opportunity to host the tour on the days that Miss Raven Symone' was off! I must say Raven is super cool and so much fun to be around. All of us on the tour had a chance to get to know each other a little bit better and to become forever friends and fans.
 
DC and I (along with some new friends) recorded 5 new videos for Playhouse Disney and they have just begun airing on the weekends on the Disney Channel. SUPER exciting news for us- the videos now appear on the program listings so we can be found, tivo'ed, and have our ratings captured! We hope you enjoy our new songs!
 
We are now planning our 2009 tour schedule and we hope to make it to your town, so you can move and groove with Choo Choo Soul!

I am so excited to announce that my first Solo release- "Diversity Personified" is finally complete!!

I am working on distribution now, but if you would like to purchase one you can email me and I will include FREE SHIPPING this week (2/5-2/11). The CD's are $15. They will be available on iTunes as well as my website [genevievegoings.com] in the next couple of months.

This album has a great blend of R&B, Soul, Hip-Hop,Jazz and enough dance tracks to get you movin. Your support is much appreciated and please know that a lot of work went into this product! As many of you know this is a tough industry and I have been blessed to make it my#1 priority in life now since I left my 9-5 job and came down to LA 8 months ago. With the Blessing of my Children's CD "Choo Choo Soul", being picked up by Disney and made into music video interstitials I have had the freedom to be creative for a living. This CD is a representation of all the types of music I love and it really has personality and character. (And YES it is OK for your kids to listen to as well!)

 

I'm happy to have a lot of good friends who contributed to this project and I guarantee that people of all ages, cultures, styles and tastes will enjoy this!

WARNING: Your children will want to hear it over and over and over and over and over.......................... (you get the point, but trust me, you'll love it too!!)

I wanted to take a brief moment to honor a good friend of mine, Charlie Couch....
If you've seen his page, or his pictures, you've either suddenly wanted to book a shoot with him, or wanted your girlfriend to.... You've probably pictured yourself in the frames and what pose you would do, and looked forward to some amazingly breathtaking photos. I met Charlie less than a year ago, and have already had several amazing shoots with amazing results. I just wanted to give it up to Charlie and I highly suggest contacting him if you are interested in a photoshoot for a very reasonable price! He is very easy to work with and you will be absolutely thrilled with the results!

This website is quite amazing and for some, a seperate LIFE. I have fallen into the trap myself a few times and it is easy to get caught up.  Insinuating, False Self-portrayal, Hinting, Dating, flirting, inside joking, etc. is very popular on this website and can hurt many and damage first impressions. This is why it is necessary for me to change my page. =(

For those of you who don't already know, I have had fate turn in my favor and landed  a delvelopment TV show in regular rotation on the Disney Channel, effective May 15th!! Now unlike many well-known artists who got their start on Disney, I do not, and WILL not, resent the fact that Disney is my platform. I am 25 years old, and do not need to strip off all of my clothes to prove to the world that I'm not a little girl. I think that the children who will watch my show will understand that and their parents can trust that my view will not change. I think that our children's generation is in desperate need of a positive role model! Which brings me to my next point....

After a lot of thought, I believe that it is necessary for me to make some changes in my myspace world. If  I don't know you, and you have an offensive picture as your profile pic, I'm going to need to delete you. if you leave a comment with a booty on a flyer, you guessed it.... deleted. If you leave a comment with an inside joke that insinuates anything that you wouldn't want your 6 year old neice to understand... its gone. I know you understand. SO.... if you actually took the time to read this I think that is fantastic. Maybe I am being overly hopeful thinking that kids and parents might google me and come across my page. But just in case....... that was my disclaimer.

YAY!

Well I have finally been booked and all scheduled to fly out to the East Coast this Thursday and film a television show pilot based on the Children's CD that I made. The show will be animated but I will be live. They also cast DC who featured his beatboxing talents in one of the scenes, and four 5 year old kids! This will air on the Disney channel this summer and if positive feedback is received, it will go to series. Think good thoughts for me as I embark on stepping through the first big door that this industry is opening for me!

OK, I'm so sorry but I am getting so sick of this which I am about to address.

 

OK so I just think it is so RETARDED how hard people try to intentionally misspell words as internet slang. I was actually looking online on Saturday night with my boy who received an e-mail from a girl trying to holler at him which was just RIDICULOUS! But for now, I'd like to quote some of the fantastic e-mails I have received in the past 10 days.

"wut it do an wus rilly ........swang thru my page an check my sounds let me know wut s good"

-this one is not horrible, but still pretty bad. I mean, you've got to THINK really hard to be able to misspell "really".. right? Is it just me and my educated ass?

"WuT iT Do gIRl.. YOuz sexY AND u gOt them PiPez? daYumM. "

-excuse me? I'm sorry. How hard is it, seriously, to capitalize some letters inside a word and not the others? Is that necessary?

"can i b on 1 of ya songs? "

-not if you're gonna put flows together the way you put sentences together!

I don't know. I guess this isn't so bad... but... please ... just spell "YOU"... please? I mean were trying to do business here. its just two extra letters. You spelled the rest of it right!
