Lovely review of our gig supporting Idlewild in Birmingham. Link is below for the full thing or just read what I've copied and pasted...

http://www.allgigs.co.uk/view/review/4364/Idlewild_Olympic_Swimmers_O2_Academy_1_2_And_3_October_2009_Live_Review.html

Support for the evening came from Olympic Swimmers; a female fronted Glaswegian indie-rock five-piece, and what a treat they were. Carefully constructed instrumental parts locked together under a beautiful female vocal; lush, meandering guitar parts with throbbing drums and gentle vocals crescendo track after track into powerful stomping climaxes. There are obvious comparisons with the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Electrelane; the stunning frontwoman Susie Liddell was in complete control of her outstanding vocals throughout the set, from a gentle whisper-like tone to a belting, powerful chorus vocal.

I've put up the two songs we recently recorded at Chem 19 with Paul Savage (I Won't Sleep, and Father Said) on the myspace page - www.myspace.com/olympicswi..mmers
We'll have them in a physical-copy-buyable format, hopefully by October.

One of the songs was on Vic Galloway's Radio 1 show last night (23rd Sept) along with some very kind words from Malky B. you can listen again to the show here and we are about 35 minutes in. http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio..1/vicgalloway/

So we changed our name from Hindle Wakes, fed up having to explain it/spell it out/over pronounce it to everybody.

We recorded two tracks with Paul Savage at Chem 19 studios recently, we'll have them mastered and available to buy asap. We also have a tour lined up which we're all very excited about, it will be announced this week.

Cheers
