Current mood:  inspired
hey everyone,
just wanted to give a little more info about the two shows we are playing in january. These shows will be with the original gracer lineup, the guys that wrote the Voices Travel album, me, chris, and justin. we will be playing songs off of that album only. we were asked to open for the Inside reunion show, and we can't thank those guys enough. it is a huge honor to get the chance to play with one of my all time favorite bands, a band that has influenced my playing in such a big way. and it is also a great reason to get together with chris and justin one more time to play those old songs. hard to believe that it'll be 4 years since the album came out when we play the shows. so of course we couldn't live with playing just one more show, so we decided to do a warm up show in brooklyn on january 1st also. the show is free and our friends bands are opening for us so it is bound to be a fun night, even if we are a little rusty. this will most likely be the only time all 3 of us get back together to do this so come check it out! hope to see you there. thanks again to the guys in Inside for giving us a reason to play together again and asking us to be a part of their reunion shows.

Current mood:  anxious
hello everyone,
before we get started, i just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for the amazing response to the new material we posted on here and on our purevolume page. i know we've been in hiding for the good part of two years now and to see such a huge reaction to our new tunes was just mind blowing. just when i think nobody is listening, something like this happens and completely restores my faith. so, thank you. thank you to all the music websites that posted the news about our songs, thank you to the sites that did interviews with us, thank you to the ones that just wrote us asking to do more interviews, but most importantly, thank YOU. to the old fan - thank you for sticking with us. your constant emails asking when we're playing *insert your city* and your anticipation for the new record still amazes me everyday. thank you for not losing interest and thank you for your patience. knowing people are out there that still care about this band pushes me to keep playing music everyday. and to the new listener (and i know there are a lot of you based on the overwhelming emails!) thank you for taking the time to check out a new band, and even more for writing to us to let us know your thoughts. so really, just thank you to everyone for boosting our spirits and giving us the kick in the ass we needed. you have no idea how much it means to us.
now, on to business.
i know we've been saying that "we're building a studio at our house" for about a year now, and well, we can stop saying that. we are extremely happy to announce that it is finally finished. we spent all day yesterday loading every piece of gear we have up to the studio. after setting everything up, paul and i just kinda looked at it, looked at each other, and had a "holy shit" moment. this is something that we've been talking about for well over a year, and something both of us have always dreamed of having; a fully functional recording studio a staircase away.
soooooo..after a few computer and wiring tweaks, we will be ready to record the 30+ songs we've written since i moved here two years ago, and finally make a brand new Gracer album. aside from playing a few shows here and there this summer, we will be spending every waking minute in the studio. we will be documenting the whole process and will keep you guys very up to date on the progress we're making. so bare with us just a little longer, we're getting to work as we speak. we hope you enjoy the outcome.

and again, thank you everyone.

hey everyone.

if i could say how much it meant to still see emails in our inbox about what were doing after we go so long without updating...well it would take more charcters than this allows. Ill just start with thank you.....and now for somethings you have been waiting so patiently for.

weve spent this long cold winter, holed up in my bedroom, finding out how pro tools can suck the life right out of you and after more errors and crashes than i can count on 50 hands, we finally finished recording some new songs for all to hear....soon. Along with new music we are hard at work on making the digital world that you visit us in far more advanced than what we have now, and full of new content.

gracer is the unfound weapon of mass destruction. we plan to rebuild a better and brighter musical future for everyone. consider yourself warned

to all our canadian fans,
We just found out today that our Rawside of... episode has been moved to the season finale slot on tuesday december 23rd! we're really anxious to see it and had been looking forward to this upcoming tuesday, but we certainly cannot argue with being the big season finale episode. you have no idea how stoked we are for everyone to see the show. from what everyone on the production end of things and everyone over at IFC are saying, you will not wanna miss this. and from the 3 minutes paul and i saw at the premiere party last month, we can only say that it will be a visual and auditory experience like no other. we should have a trailer for you all to see sometime early next week. and to all our fans in the US and elsewhere, the show is in the process of finding a home on your tv set. we'll let you know as soon as we find out what channel(s) will broadcast the episode in the near future. hope everyone is doing well. back to recording....

hey everyone, long time no talk. ever since we started filming for the IFC documentary we've been pretty busy nonstop. a lot is happening over here in gracer world. the tv show airs december 9th in canada, and we'll let everyone here in the states know the air date as soon as we know. we started playing some shows again, getting the new songs out for everyone to hear. so far the response has been amazing. we can't tell you how much your kind words, emails, phone calls etc. mean to us. thanks to everyone that came out to our show with damiera in pennsylvania. it'd been way too long since we saw all of you. we have a few more shows lined up for 2008 and we'll let you know the dates as soon as everything is confirmed. in record news, last friday i went to a studio here in buffalo to start tracking drums. everything sounds unreal so far, big huge bonham sounds, for all the drummers out there. there's a picture of the studio in our photos section, and our good friend came down to film it all. probably gonna make a dvd following the whole process of making this record. there are hours of footage to use, so we'll let you know the deal with that when the time comes. we've got the tracks here at our studio now so we're gonna get started on guitars, bass, vocals etc. we really just want to get it done with so you guys can see what we've been up to for the past year and a half. we're now free agents in the label world and it feels great. its nice having the ball in our court once again. right now we're not even thinking about all of that stuff. thats a whole other headache to face when the time comes. not too concerned though, we'll put it out ourselves if we have to. this whole journey has just been about doing what feels right and doing what makes the two of us happy. and i think it really shows in the music. the IFC show will really take you inside what we've been through in the past year and a half and where we're at right now. can't wait for everyone to see it. hope you're all doing well, see you soon!

Current mood:  excited
hey everyone,
we've been waiting until the time was right to let you know whats goin on with us. and we feel like its pretty fitting right now. so here it goes. next week we will be taking part in a documentary series for IFC Canada(independent film channel). it's called "the rawside of..." series, so ours will be "the rawside of...gracer". we're really excited about this. they're also doing episodes on Metric, Broken Social Scene, and a few others. we'll be heading to toronto for a week to record a new song in a very beautiful studio. Jag Tanna, who played in the band I Mother Earth, will be recording us. And all the while, a film crew will document our every move. And as if that wasn't enough, we will be playing a very special show in buffalo that will also be filmed for the tv show. it'll be our first show as a two piece, and will feature a ton of new songs. in the end it will be an hour long, commercial free, episode about gracer. it's gonna be a really cool look into what we do in our personal lives, as well as a chance for you guys to hear new music...finally. The song we're recording is really important to us, and we feel like its a very good first song for everyone to hear, now that we're a two-piece. well, thats all for now. i'll have more info on air dates and all that good stuff in the coming weeks. we'll update you guys as we're being filmed. hope everyones doing well. and i just wanted to thank everyone for writing us and still caring, it really means so much to us that we haven't played a show in over a year now and everyday we still get messages from people. once this documentary is done, we will be recording our new album, and getting back out on the road. thanks for all the continued support.
