Alright, let's hear them. I know I can't be the only person that has had to deal with neighbors from hell and I want to hear your stories too!

Right now, I'll just give you a tid-bit about my neighbors from hell. if I were to write it ALL down, I'd be here all night. So I'll just start with my first complaint. Their CAT.

When they moved in - to our NO PETS ALLOWED house I might add, they brought with them a big, black cat. It didn't take long before they decided they didn't want to keep the cat IN the house any more, so they began locking it outside.
The cat, desperate to get "in" somewhere, began running into MY house every time I'd open my front or back door. I don't have anything against the cat, but it's not MINE, and having to chase it out of my house or crawl behind the couch to get it out of here constantly was beginning to really piss me off.

I just had all my screens replaced on my front screen-door and windows last fall with nice new screen. When summer came this year, my screens were all still brand new.
So their stupid cat decides to start jumping up and hanging off of my screens with its claws every day, and eventually pulled all the screens out from under the moulding, so they all have to be done ALL OVER AGAIN. (At MY EXPENSE, since the neighbors don't "want the cat" any more)------

Here is the crazy part. When I see the neighbors and tell them about the problems their cat is causing, the mother says things like, "Oh, that's my son's cat. We don't even want that cat any more."
OK, I say, but what are you going to DO with the cat? She just gives me this blank look and repeats how they don't even want the cat any more, but won't say what they plan to do with it.

When I see the mother's boyfriend, I tell him about the cat. He replies that it's "the kids" cat, and tells me how he hates cats. When I ask what they are going to do with it, he says the son will have to deal with it.

So when I see the 18 year old son, I tell him all about the cat and show him my screens. He replies, "Oh, we don't WANT that cat any more." OKAY, I say, but what are you going to do WITH THE CAT? He goes in circles with me telling me it's his mother's cat, but SHE doesn't want it any more either. Ok, I say, but what are you guys gonna do with it? It's ruining my screens and I have to keep chasing it out of my house.

So tonight I look out the window and see that the cat is pulling down all my Halloween decorations from the porch (that took us 2 days to put up). I tried to chase it away to no avail. The son shows up just then and I showed him the cat and the decorations and asked what their plan for the cat was.

He told me (and I quote), "I'm not going to do anything with that cat. I'm sick of that cat. We don't want it any more so don't even talk to me about that cat."
I said, "Well I'm sorry that you're sick of it but it's YOUR cat, YOU BROUGHT IT HERE. Just saying you don't want it any more doesn't absolve you of all responsibility for it! You have to come up with a plan to get rid of it. You can't just leave it here sitting on my porch."
He says, "I took it to the park a couple of times and dropped it off but it keeps coming back so that's not my problem. I TRIED to get rid of it but it comes back. We don't want the cat any more."
I said, "If you don't want the cat any more, don't take it to the park, you have to call the ASPCA to come and get it or something."

He replies, "I don't have to fucking call anybody cause I don't want that cat any more. It's not my problem"

I'm NOT kidding. These dip-shits somehow believe that even though they brought the cat here as their pet, simply saying we don't want it any more takes away all their responsibility as pet owners. This is a two-family house and I live in the lower half. Of course the cat is going to run into my house and hang off my screens and stay on my proch, I'm on the ground-floor! They are acting like the cat is now MY problem(?) since "they don't want it any more".

I'm going to call the pound tomorrow and see what I can do. But I have NEVER seen such dense, stupid people in my life! Wait till I tell you the other stuff they do, you won't believe that either. It gets much worse than the cat.

Come on, I KNOW I'm not alone. Tell me about YOUR neighbor from hell. make me feel better........lol

While visiting the Huffington Post today, I read an article that said the GOP was doing cartwheels today when it was announced that President Obama's bid for the 2016 Olympics to be held in Chicago had been unsuccessful.

Despite the fact that poll numbers showed that a majority of Americans thought it was a good idea, and that hosting the Olympic Games is always a great honor and a very unifying event, the GOP leaders once again put their bloodlust for President Obama above the desires of the American people.
The article actually had a video showing the GOP erupting into cheers and applause when the decision was announced. (I mean seriously, who cheers against their own country? And they say that the President is un-American?) Even though American citizens wanted it, GOP leaders were more concerned with the "good news" that Obama had "failed" at something (in their eyes).

They justified their response by saying that Chicago was nothing but mobsters and gansters anyway, and that Obama was probably on the payroll of some nefarious criminals who wanted the Olympics in Chicago, etc. ,etc.---a lot of not very complimentary things about Illinois in general.
Reading all this, it occured to me just how weary I am becoming of the GOP and their constant, unrelenting and baseless harrassment of President Obama (YES I said harrassment- what else would you call it?) I can barely stand to look at the news any more. I sort of summed up my feelings in the following comment I left on the article:

"I hope Illinois residents remember these GOP comments at voting time. Democrats should keep track of everyONE and everyPLACE insulted by the GOP in their frenzy to "get" President Obama, just so they can remind voters later on. It's like the GOP leaders have stopped caring about U.S.CITIZENS altogether, and like some stalking maniac, they live, eat and breathe "Obama". They could care less what it's doing to America or our reputation around the world.
How do I say this without sounding *weird*? The GOP is making me feel actually "depressed". Seriously, I can barely stomach the news any more.
NOT depressed about the PRESIDENT (if that's what they're hoping citizens will feel, they're WAY OFF the mark), but depressed in the way that an abused spouse might feel: someone constantly criticized, berated, threatened and mocked day after day--and worse, someone TRAPPED with the abuser.....The GOP has become the nation's "abusive husband", ignoring our needs and wishes, selfishly delighting in our disappointments, sucking the life from us, sapping our strength, and frankly---making you wish they would just go away. FAR AWAY.
Do they think they're gathering fans? They're becoming more loathed by the day and losing their own base!
They're like that vicious, gossiping co-worker that sends people scattering from the break-room when you see her coming- because you KNOW once she opens her mouth, all that negativity will come pouring out- and you just DON'T want to hear it. That's how the GOP leaders' continuous viciousness is beginning to effect people. Is it just me? who knows......."
--------------------------------
And THAT pretty much sums up how I feel about the GOP. I think many of their own will end up jumping ship before it's over, not wanting to be associated with the unpatriotic, bizarre and obsessive antics they've displayed.

It doesn't seem to matter to them what the nation needs. Even the things they KNOW will be beneficial to us, things they KNOW they should vote for, they continue to vote AGAINST just to block any "progress" under Barack Obama's leadership. They will block or stall anything they can, no matter how much the voters may want it, if it would reflect well on the president. They want nothing to go through that might make him "look good".

It's depressing, literally depressing. We are STUCK with them, they are certainly not going anywhere, which means we are going to continue to be sujected to this onslaught of negativity.

I CAN'T be the only person that has grown weary of it. Remember that line that says "Hell is the impossibility of reason?" Well people, you cannot reason with the GOP, no matter how many facts you present to them....so I suppose we are all in hell.

For now anyway.

As I have been trying to tell people all along, the whole Tea-Bag Protest thing has been a farce, starting with the numbers the tea-baggers claim to have drawn...They say around 2 million people..lol....while the Washington D.C. Dept. of Fire and Emergency estimates their numbers at around 70,000 total....(less than a baseball game)

Of course, "inflating their numbers" is a tactic taught to them by Dick Armey's public relations firm, who is orchestrating this little comedy. Here, take a look for yourself in this article written by a former "insider" to the "game": Lies, Intimidation and the Insurance Industry

And HERE is another:
Right Wing Harassment Strategy Against Dem's Detailed In Memo

BUT NOW, according to the Huffington Post, they've been caught in one of their lies. A photo the tea-bag conservatives been circulating that they claim shows their "immense number of protesters" is in fact OVER FIVE YEARS OLD and was taken at another event altogether. This photo shows people reaching all the way to 15th St. or more, while the Fire Dept. spokesman said the tea-bag protesters, once they'd reached the capital, only filled the capital grounds...perhaps as far as 3rd St.

Dick Armey, fix your skirt, your tactics are showing!

Here is the article from the Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/14/912-tea-party-photo-false_n_286082.html

On one of my usual strolls through the blogosphere, I had an interesting exchange with a republican recently.
Now I have long suspected that the "average" republican is probably not unlike me---your average democrat. I mean looking at this logically, my father was a life-long republican, and he was NOTHING like the "tea-bag" crowd we're seeing on tv. Some of my neighbors are republicans, they don't act this way. So I've had to wonder, WHERE exactly are they finding these people??? (I suppose the southern accents should be our first clue)

I suspect that the average republican is every bit as confused and turned off by the "tea party" intimidation tactics as we democrats are. Now in this blog exchange I had pointed out some examples of extreme behavior by the radical right,

To which the republican replied:

"I'm glad you said this. I (along with 99% of Conservatives) can freely admit that there are indeed, some whack jobs on the far right. We don't want to have anything to do with them and we wish they would go away."

I quickly wrote back the following:

"You know , the mere fact that you say that the average conservative doesn't want anything to do with the whack jobs on the far right (which is something I've suggested to others many times) this gives me more hope than anything. In the same respect, the average democrat is also not a tree-hugging left-over from the 60's. I think many of us want the same things, the problem is the politicians benefit by keeping us believing that we are SOOO different.

Face it, Most of us are not rich, most of us are middle class, most of us can't afford any more than we are already paying. We all agree there. There IS a middle road and I think democrats are really willing to work in that middle area and give, we just need the middle class republicans to urge their leaders to meet up in the middle as well. That way we BOTH get some of what we want and compromise on the rest. Isn't that how America is supposed to work?
Both parties are embarrassed by their respective whack jobs. Those small minorities do not represent ALL of the rest of us."

And just that quickly, other positive comments were posted and I thought wow, you know Obama is right, compromise IS possible if you can get the reasonable people talking to one another without the stress of extremism. Comprimise is possible if you also remove the blatant racism.

Now I don't know about you, but when I see a bunch of riled up rednecks in an all-white group, some carrying guns, hooping, hollering, and waving rebel flags as they hold up signs plastered with Jim Crow-esque images of our African American president, and others signs implying all non-christians should be dead or in hell.......well, I don't see Washington DC in 2009 America, I see 1960's Missippi.

3444736449_a55b5c6067.jpg

Yes, I'm a democrat and I'm telling you NONE of these signs look like something my republican father or my friends and neighbors would EVER carry. How about you? I didn't think so. These people are NOT representative of America, nor are they representative of the average republican either.

These are people that don't enjoy being intellectuals, and in fact villify people that are "too smart" as the enemy and not to be trusted. They glory in stupidity, and don't mind one bit if their racist ideals show through their rhetoric.
They enjoy the role of political "thugs", and are purposely intimidating to their opposition or critics. Just look at this guy and what he did while attending a tea party event--just outside the congressman's office is Salisbury, Maryland, he "hung the congressman in effigy" in the town that saw Maryland's last lynching in 1930. Is THIS the kind of person YOU want running the government? And while the mannequin was white, what kind of message do you think he was really sending here?

These folks are bigots. These are the people that daydream of having a "new civil war" to fight, where they live in their survivalist compounds shooting at Jews, blacks, gays, democrats, race-mixers, whoever, as long as they get to USE those guns they tote around. Most of them have a southern accent, and have ZERO black friends. Most of these people cannot STAND that there is a black democrat in the White House, and would hate Obama even if God himself came down and gave Obama his personal seal of approval. These people know almost NOTHING about the issues they claim to be fighting against, and ignore any evidence contrary to what they WANT to believe. They lie and say we aren't bigots, we have people of all races with us....uh-huh. Not according to these videos you don't.
Well here, see for yourself:

And take a look at this if you need further proof of their bullying. These people claim to be protesting for the protection of our constitutional rights, yet where was their respect for the rights of the ONE old man who wanted to hold HIS sign? I'll tell you where...they knocked him to the ground. How shameful that this old man had to have the police escort him to carry his sign becaue it was unsafe for him to walk among these lunatics. That could have been any one of our grandparents. These fools want to run the country? NO WAY. NOW THAT is scary.

It's time for the "good" republicans to stand up and tell their leaders to stop playing to these lunatics, and to get busy working with the democrats to get things done. If they won't listen, then vote them out or vote democrat. Don't let these racist bullies take you down with them.

I have a lot more info to share, but will have to do a part 2 on it....the family calls....

As I sat down to watch the president's speech last night, I silently nursed the hope that maybe, just maybe, with him bringing both parties together in this forum, that common sense might prevail and some sort of sanity could be returned to the politcal arena.

All that went out the window when I saw Rep. Joe Wilson (R) shout "You Lie!" at the American president as he addressed a joint session of congress in front of the American people.
In my 48 years, I have never seen such blatant disrespect shown to an American president by an American politician. The withering glares of Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, as well as the uncomforable shifting in their seats of republicans and even a momentary pause by the president himself, told me that no one else had ever seen such a display either.

As a democrat, despite the call by some in our party for Obama to pass the health care reform and stop trying to "bring in" republicans (who clearly don't want to cooperate), I was still a little uncomfortable with the idea of passing something this important without at least some sort of concensus among the parties.

But after watching the republican performance last night, I think I have changed my mind. I'll wager I'm not alone in that.

What Joe Wilson did was not only a slap in the face of the president, but it was also a slap in the face of every democrat, independent, and yes, even republicans that voted for him.

While the recent behavior of the republican party, (or in fairness, some of the republican party) has been both bizarre and extreme, it was bearable because deep down, we all knew that these republican politicians don't ACTUALLY believe that Obama is not a U.S. citizen, nor do they actually believe his is creating "death panels", nor did they really believe his speech to the school kids was going to turn them all into "Obama-zombies", nor do they actually believe he is some sort of hypnotizing anti-christ-nazi-socialist-communist-muslim.
Deep down we all understood that such claims "make good theater" as they say. They say things like this to keep the president in a position of constantly defending himself against silly accusations. It's done to try to keep him off-balance, or to put a constant "cloud of suspicion" over his head. It's done to slow his progress.
But in the end, we knew it was all nonsense, and something the republicans could or would "reel in" if need be, if it started to go too far.

But now, after last night, I have to wonder if they actually can reel in the monster they've set loose?

What I saw when Joe Wilson shouted at the president was a party that has truly become no-holds-barred scary. I believe the wickedness ran too deep and has taken root, and that there is nothing now that they will not do or say in their efforts against the president. The open display of hostility and disrespect, while making me furious, also makes me fearful for the president's safety from these people, or any democrats or liberals safety for that matter.
After all, they speak about us as if we are evil as well.

What Jo Wilson did is make me remember the 8 years of disrepsect we suffered at the hands of George Bush and the republican party. It made me remember how we (the american people) were virtually ignored as they robbed and pillaged the nation's coffers and gave our money by the billions to their friends in the military arms and oil industries.
It made me remember 9/11 and all the ties the bush family had to the key players and the attacks themselves. I remembered the huge cover-up that followed. I remember Bush lying to us, insisting we were going to disappear under a mushroom cloud from Iraq, and I remember the American peoiple being ignored when we demanded answers for all these lies.

And now a republican DARES to shout YOU LIE to the new president that is trying to clean up the mess THEY left behind?

I'm glad I'm a democrat. I'm glad Joe Wilsons upcoming opponent (a democrat) was donated $100,000. over night last night because of Wilson's remarks. I think the republicans have forgotten that the same mountains we moved to elect Obama can be moved to get rid of any one of them.

     Am I pissed? You betcha!

At first I was going to try to phrase this tactfully, but I find that I'm so aggravated that I don't even WANT to bother.

When a US president is forced to release a speech meant for students in advance, (this has happened to NO OTHER president) because the right-wing wackos insist he is secretly trying to put the Vulcan-mind-meld on their children, something is seriously WRONG here.
When these people can believe that by merely listening to the president talk for 10 minutes about doing your homework, respecting your parents and teachers, and being a good citizen. that this can somehow turn their children into "mind-controlled-zombie-socialists", then I worry that the America I know and love is circling the drain. I'm afraid the lunatics are running the asylum.

I mean, what's next? Will they want to shave his head so they can look for three sixes?

What infuriates me most about these people is their dishonesty. They are willing to say or do anything, no matter how untruthful to try to cast the president in a bad light. They knowlingly tell flat-out lies, and could care less when their lies are pointed out and disproven. They simply continue telling them. This shows me their complaining has nothing to do with actual facts, and everything to do with hatred of the man himself.
Yet these are the people that claim to be the examples of "character and right thinking"????

I read a "chain letter" today (or whatever you call those e-mails filled with mis-information that circulate) and in it, it said in speaking to America's school children, Obama was "breaking the law", and "setting a new precident", doing something never done before.

Of course they KNOW this is a flat-out lie, both Pres. G. H.W. Bush and Pres. Reagan gave similar speeches to the kids. Why George Bush even asked the kids to "write him letters" telling them how they could help him.
Now bear in mind that the republicans claimed that because the lesson plan that went with Obama's speech (written by teachers by the way, NOT the White House) had a similar question on it, they claimed that Obama was trying to "indoctrinate" their children and somehow put the "whammy" on them.

So let me get this straight--a white republican president can tell the school children: think of ways you can help me, then write them down and send the the letters to ME PERSONALLY (Bush didn't want the letter sent to just "any" president, but to HIM)--and that's ok. THAT's not trying to influence the children at all.

But, when a black democrat as president has a suggestion on the lesson plan that the student's could "write THEMSELVES a letter, thinking of ways they could help their president-(not specifically Obama, but ANY president), well THAT IS WAY OVER THE LINE and he is obviously trying to influence the children into socialist ideologies.....

Why was this not a concern as long as the speeches (and suggested assignments) were being given by white republicans?

Suddenly "certain" parents are pulling their children out of school, making angry phone calls, and demanding that the president's speech not be shown to America's children. They claim they don't what "their kids" heaing anything "that president" has to say. Wow, what are they teaching their children with this?

"No honey, you're not going to school today. That damn Obama is not gonna fill yer head with his socialist agenda!"

Here is my take on these ridiculous theatrics: Stop trying to disguise your racism as something else. The rest of America has eyes and ears. We've heard your phony arguments and we KNOW what is really behind them.

It's like seeing my neighbor let his dog crap on my lawn, then watching as the neighbor sticks a daisy in the top of the pile, as if it will somehow keep me from seeing what's underneath.
You can dress it up and try to disguise it any way you like, but it's still a big, stinking pile of crap obvious to anyone that looks at it.

Why don't all you right-wing wackos stop lying and tell it like it is? You are bigots that refuse to accept a black democrat as president, and you will stop at nothing to try to cast doubt on the man. Even if it means lying.

Each time you think they couldn’t possibly sink any lower--well--they do.

I came across an article in Motortrend by a Steven Pearlstein, who perfectly articulated the phenomena we are seeing regarding the lies republican leaders are so shamelessly telling about the president’s healthcare reform proposal. He said:

“The recent attacks by Republican leaders and their ideological fellow-travelers on the effort to reform the health-care system have been so misleading, so disingenuous, that they could only spring from a cynical effort to gain partisan political advantage. By poisoning the political well, they've given up any pretense of being the loyal opposition. They've become political terrorists, willing to say or do anything to prevent the country from reaching a consensus on one of its most serious domestic problems. “

     He goes on to say:

“There is no credible way to look at what has been proposed by the president or any congressional committee and conclude that these will result in a government takeover of the health-care system. That is a flat-out lie whose only purpose is to scare the public and stop political conversation.”

When I read those words--”misleading“, “disingenuous“, political terrorists, willing to say or do anything” I thought there it is, the perfect description. THAT is what we are witnessing when we watch those staged “town hall meetings” filled with angry people shouting things like:
“I don’t want to have to pay for YOUR health care!”
“Go get a job and get your own health insurance!”
“What ever happened to personal responsibility?”

-while some grinning republican politician looks on and nods approvingly, what we are really witnessing is deceit at work. We are seeing the insurance industry getting their “money’s worth”.

Just like we saw during the presidential election, when the republican party seemed to be courting the “crazies” or the “loony fringe“, they are using the same tactic for the healthcare debate, appealing to the same sort of people.
Republican politicians, lobbied and paid by the insurance industry, are purposely misleading people; appealing to a certain segment of their party, spoon-feeding them buzz-words like “revolution”, patriotism”, “socialism”, and phrases like “those of you who “worked hard all your life” are going to be forced to pay for healthcare for “others” that are too lazy to work.”

There is much more of course, all of it purposely inflammatory language meant to appeal to these people’s prejudices and bigotries, meant to evoke visions of “lazy people standing in welfare lines” instead of what this debate is TRULY about.

What this healthcare reform is TRULY about is that we have a country of hard-working people, many of whom go through each day sick and suffering, or in fear of getting sick because they: have no health insurance.. were refused coverage.. or cannot afford the skyrocketing premiums.

Then there are the people who are refused coverage altogether because they have a “pre-existing condition”. (Since I was a cancer patient several years ago, I would be included in this group if were to have to look for insurance at this point.)
We have men and women that have been laid off and then dropped by their insurance companies, that do not qualify for Medicaid. We have working parents that cannot afford health insurance for their children because the “family plan” offered through their employer would cost nearly half their salary.

These scenarios of course, are a far cry from the “lazy, irresponsible bums” the republican propagandists tell people they will be “paying for”. (this is another lie, I’ll explain below)

The republican alarmists are claiming that the “public option” included in the healthcare reform will be nothing more than some sort of extended “welfare” program. The images they try to evoke play purposely on the prejudices, fears and resentments within a certain segment of their party.
Just another weight around your neck” they tell them. “More lazy people YOU will have to pay for….” The lies have really become quite shameless.

Of course what they are NOT telling everyone is that the public option is a government-run alternative to private insurance that is funded just like regular insurance, those using it pay a premium just like regular insurance. It’s not some government “freebie”. You want it, you pay your premiums to have it. It is NOT FREE. What it DOES offer however, is coverage for those that have been turned down, and an all-around better value for your money to anyone choosing it.

Because it would force the insurance industry to finally have to compete for our business, the public option would help to bring down the rates insurance companies charge, as well as making them offer better service if they want to keep their customers. Nothing benefits the consumer like some healthy competition.

Up until now, the insurance industry has had us over a barrel. Since no one can afford to pay out of pocket for healthcare costs, millions of Americans faithfully pay their premiums to the insurance industry each month, just in case we ever DO get sick. Of course having insurance is no guarantee of anything. We are still at their mercy. They charge what they like, refuse to pay for treatments they deem “too expensive” or “not worth the cost”, in fact they refuse to pay as often as possible, even basing their employees bonus structure around how many claims they are able to deny.

I read today that we have more uninsured people in America than the total population of Canada. I find that shocking, especially because I know many of them are children.

I think that every person attending those “town hall meetings” should be made to watch the following video at the beginning of the meetings, BEFORE the insults and lies start flying around. People should see BOTH sides of an argument.

Wendell Potter, a 20 year insurance industry insider, and 15 year CIGNA executive, recently gave an interview on Bill Moyers Journal. Potter explains the lengths the industry goes to to frighten Americans and keep them from agreeing to a government run healthcare system.
He says such a system is the insurance industry’s greatest fear. They do not want to have to compete, and they PAY republican politicians to frighten people away from any healthcare reform. It was incredibly eye-opening and I suggest everyone watch it. He makes his point in plain English, not industry lingo, and you get a real understanding of how we have been bamboozled in America.
I can't embed it here, but please go to the following link to watch it, and pass it along to your friends.

I've been sitting here snickering to myself, thinking about a couple of hilarious things kids in my family ACTUALLY said. Kids REALLY DO say the funniest things.

When my neice Sharon was little, she used to see her Mom (my sister) retrieve the mail from the mailbox, and my sister's husband would ask, "What came in the mail today?", and she'd reply, "Bills again," or "Oh, just some bills."
So one particular day my sister brought in the mail and when he asked, gave her husband the usual reply, "Just bills today."
Perplexed, Sharon looked at her mom and very seriously asked, "Mommy, who is Bill and why do we always keep getting his mail?"

My son Chris had just turned 3, and was still trying to learn what everything was called. Trying to figure out "dreams", he asked me one day-- "Mommy, you know those movies you see when your sleepin'? What do ya call those?"

Chris said a lot of funny stuff at that age. When he would try to express " a lot" of something, where an adult might say, "Oh, I have a million of them", Chris could never remember "million", so he would say the biggest number he knew, (300) which came out "free-hundred" when he'd say it.
So one night we were getting ready to go out for the evening. I had put on a nice dress and had done my hair and makeup. Just before we were ready to go, Chris walked up to me and trying to pay me his best "big boy" compliment, said:
"You looks beautiful Mommy, you looks like free-hundred dollars."

(It stuck... that is still how we tell each other "you look nice" to this day....lolol)

Just sharing some goofy stuff today......

I wanted to share with everyone a website that I came across today. It has a huge wealth of information and the best part, it's all free.

If you are a documentary junkie like I am, and find yourself searching the web for some documentary you want to watch RIGHT NOW, hoping it's out there somewhere online, (so you don't have to rent or purchase it), this is a site for you. Its called Freedocumentaries.org.
http://www.freedocumentaries.org/index.php

I couldn't believe all the free documentaries this site has that you can watch online. Many of them I have not seen available anywhere else, unless you are willing to rent it from like Netflix or Blockbuster.

I just thought it was a very cool site and wanted to share.

PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO FIRST

Recently, after seeing some very disturbing movies, watching documentaries and reading a plethora of news reports, I came to the self-realization that were I to confront or stumble upon a child molester or one of these abductors/traffickers of children (and of women), I could with certainty totally forget myself and harm them, badly, even gruesomely, without the smallest twinge of conscience. It's disturbing, yet strangely liberating to discover that cold place lurking within oneself....for a worthy enough cause.

While I've always hated hearing these tales, the things I read about and saw in those films
really effected me. I'm not accustomed to anything inspiring in me such morbid fantasies....baseball bats, scissors, latrine buckets, torches, etc, etc...not very lady-like I'm afraid. But every time I thought about the tall grass....scissors and torches seemed reasonable.

Ok, I've lost you, but I'll get to that.

It made me sad for the policemen that catch these animals, for they are forced to treat them as humans, while every instinct in them (surely) would do otherwise. I wonder, if we gave police the green light to beat all child molesters and traffickers of children to a breathing pulp, would it cut down on these crimes?

Unfortunately, we can't give them the go-ahead.

Or better yet, if the decent people in society were allowed to exact a little street justice upon any molesters, abusers and traffickers they were able to find, perhaps it would no longer be such a lucrative crime worldwide. Sadly, fear of jail is not always a motivator for such individuals, but fear of castration or perhaps incremental amputation....now THAT could be motivational.

I warned you going in that this subject has a disturbing effect on me.

So what did I see that upset me like this? For one, a movie called "Trade" with Kevin Kline (2007). Many of you may have already seen it, but I hadn't until recently. The story focuses around the trafficking of children and young women into the United States for the purpose of sex, or more accurately, sexual slavery and forced prostitution.

It shows how young women from around the world, (many from eastern Europe), are recruited by these "agencies" promising to place them in good paying jobs in the US or some other country. These "agencies" collect all of their personal information, like the names of family members, children, the family's addresses and so on. They're told this is needed "in case of any emergencies". This information is later used to terrorize and control them.

After a flight, they are met at the airport and their passports are taken ("for employment purposes"), and they suddenly find themselves held hostage by sex traffickers. Watched constantly, given drugs against their will and moved around to various locations, they are smuggled into the states over the Mexican border, and soon "sold" to the highest bidder, where they are then forced into a life of slavery and prositution. They are told that any attempt to escape or to alert the law will bring death to their family members back home, because the "agency" has all their information.

"Trade" also highlights the issue of the thousands of missing women and girls in Mexico. Many young girls in Mexico are simply snatched off the street and quickly taken away to be sold into sexual slavery, prostitution, or sold to the highest bidding pedophiles. In the movie, a very young girl of around 10 is abducted and is to be auctioned off with other children to the highest bidders, as her brother and a policeman search for her. You see all of the ways that these traffickers connect with the pedophiles, "pimping" the children to them along the way.

In one particularly disturbing scene, the children are taken to the middle of nowhere, to a field of tall, dry grass where cars are parked. Waiting there is a group of pedophiles who pay the pimps a fee to take the children out into the tall grass and force them to do any number of disgusting acts. That all of this is based on fact is horrifying. Little kids clutching their dolls and teddy bears, abused in the weeds and the dirt by these animals....it is almost too much to bear.

I sobbed my eyes out. That's what I meant when I said scissors and torches sounded quite reasonable. Doesn't it to you????

Another film was titled "Gardens of the Night" (2008) This film focused around the abduction of two young children in America, who are then lied to by their abductors and made to believe their families no longer want them. The children are then pimped out to disgusting pedophiles for years. Once they reach their teens and are no longer useful on the pedophile market, they are simply left to the streets, where they continue to survive the only way they've been shown...by selling themselves. The boy and girl in the movie will break your heart, for all they have is each other through years of horrific abuse. This movie was graphic and horrifying, heartbreaking and shocking, and lets you know that anyone, ANYONE, no matter how "upright" they may seem, can secretly be a pedophile. They are all around us. It also explains what becomes of so many "missing' children in America.

Another film was "Bordertown" with Jennifer Lopez and Antonio Banderas. Again, all based on fact, this movie covers the issue of the missing women and girls in the Juarez region of Mexico, which has become a candyland to pedophiles, serial killers, serial rapists, and sex traffickers. Rich American industrialists have built countless manufacturing plants in this region because of the cheap female labor, and working with corrupt Mexican officials, have tried to keep all of the murdered and missing women a "secret". They number in the thousands and the dead bodies of raped, beaten, or mutiliated women are found laying in the surrounding desert almost every day.

Lastly, there are the videos available online on places such as Youtube, that show news clips of various undercover investigations of child trafficking. They are heartbreaking and horrifying.

What disturbs me most about all of this is the fact that there is a demand for this. Child prostitution exists because in this world, men exist who WANT IT. Among us are men so vile, so evil, so selfish that they would ruin a child to satisfy their fetish. That men exist that could take the most precious among us and steal their innocence in such a vile and putrid way makes me feel murderous. Faced with them, I would surely become the predator.

Wouldn't you?
